I just learned more useful information about pattern design than I have from any of those 45 minute long videos. Thank you!

Massive thank you for putting this together! Having never created a template before this is a great start with all the main tools needed to keep experimenting. Cheers.

Thanks! This helped me a lot. I'm a complete Illustrator novice and this helped me enormously. I practiced making this a few times to get better with the Ai skills and made my own wallet from my own template.

Nicely done. I'd like to see perfectly spaced stitching holes, that would be helpful. I like to use a punch and cut out all my holes.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. How would you create a larger pattern that would need to be printed out to span two or more A4 sheets that need to be glued together on thick card stock?

Loved the video and found it VERY helpful. One question, how do you make the stitching marks circles instead of dashes? I use a 1mm punch on some products and I can't get the hole layout on the pattern. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I use sketchup, looking forward to see the Ai workflow

I like the dashed line option, faster than how I do it in sketchup

thank you, when i follow the steps and setting as you did the dashed line does not end up mirror image on both x and y axis for me. have tried with both preserve and align dash options, any ideas?

Hi is there a way to mark stitching holes at a particular spacing? Say 6mm.

Great Tutorial! also how do i print the template after making it with actual size? because i've tried save it as pdf format from ilustrator and when it printed, the size is wrong, any advice? thanks

    • @willie_mccoy

Check your printer settings and make sure the scale is set to 100% before you print; also turn off auto-scale if you have the option. Verify after printing with a ruler on your printout. Check the dimensions in two opposite directions (x & y axis) to verify the correct size. Hope this helps!

The shape on which I am using the pen tool isn't selected that's why, not sure about which part of the video you are talking about about, could you tell me?

Thx for answer :) indeed the problem was that the shape was selected. I appreciate your short timing answer :). Like
