Eddie IS really good at "mixing it up". From watching Birdsong to Hick and from Les Mis to the Theory of Everything (and now The Danish Girl), it's amazing how he has such a wide range as an actor.
His performance was so underrated and overlooked in the movie! I personally felt more emotion from him as Marius than I felt for Russell Crowe as Javert. He is a great singer, and amazing actor! I hope he'll make it as big in America as he did in England! :)
Really? I have heard nothing but praise for his Marius. Javert and Valjean were good, but different. Harvey, I'm afraid, really couldn't sing. I would love to hear him sing in a Puccini opera in that lovely tenor voice.
If you guys like Eddie Redmayne, you HAVE to see the movie with Chloe Moretz that he refers to. His role is an incredible piece of acting in that film!
What a humble fellow! He never mentions the fact that he went to ETON college with the future King of England and that he was a soloist in the choir...
I remember thinking Eddie was a gorgeous edgy model for Burberry. Imagine my delight when I realized he was an intelligent, well-spoken and talented actor. I truly hope he remains grounded and uses that bright head of his to become someone we all admire later in life too. Well done Mr. Redmayne.
I love how awkward and different he is, so many times you see insanly talented,gorgeous and funny guys be so Arrogant, annoying and fake. He is so genuine and humble and SOOO talented. He is going places and his character will also take him there.
When Les Mis came out I wasn't really interested. Then I watched Birdsong and I fell in love with his acting, so when I heard he played Marius... And now I'm obsessed with Les Amis and its actors!

I loved his character, Jack, and I love him! Birdsong was amazing too! I just love Eddie! Can't wait to see this. I'm not a huge fan of musicals but I'll have to endure it just to see him ;)
In comparison with Eddie, Russell Crowe flatlines.....BADLY.....Eddie has single handedly taken "Empty Chairs and Empty Tables" to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. ABSOLUTELY blown away!!!!!
as soon as i found out he was doing to be marius I honestly was a bit disappointed and then I saw Hick and i was like WTF! this guy is creepy but now watching all of his Les Mis interviews, clips, trailers and other films(my week with marilyn for example) I am sure he is going to be bloody brilliant! he is so versatile as an actor and I have read many great reviews stating that his voice is superb!
I saw him n something a ye or so ago on PBS n thought man he's a good actor ... wonder if he sings...guess he does cos he was brilliant n Les Mis ..love his lips too
He meant little girls for Young Cosette, who sings "Castle on a CLoud." Young Eponine is silent, though sometimes the little girls playing Cosette and Eponine switch off.
Why yes, he has played quite a collection of strange strange characters.... I've seen many of his other movies and they are sufficiently disturbing but just shows how truly beautiful he is
I'd still probably want to play older Eponine, just because of the twist of how the girls lives turned. :D It would be awesome! Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. If I had watched this play as a little girl, I would have wanted to play Cosette at the time. :)
