  • The city of Seattle just launched a new, fast rescue team to reach people who get into trouble in the water.
The Seattle Fire Department launched its new rescue watercraft on the shores of Lake Washington, it announced Monday, adding two "customized SeaDoos to its marine response capabilities."
These two watercraft can get up to 52 miles per hour. At those speeds, Capt. Dietrich Hauge, with Seattle fire, told KOMO News they can speed to the northernmost section of the lake in 11 minutes. It’s just 10 minutes to Kirkland and eight minutes down to Seward Park.

Gotta ask...how many people swim in that lake? It's NW Washington State...what is the water temperature?

The so call rescue vehicle sounds quite slow. There's a lot of them like that that can get if you want to talk about miles per hour instead of what they call it on the water up to 75 mph. And you have to know how to make a hard turn and have the ability to make a sharp hard turn in order to kill the speed halfway down and when I say halfway down I'm trying to say slow it down really quick you can't just hit brakes. Which most people who write up like that knows what I'm trying to say. You got to be able to maneuver the crap without it flipping to get it to stop in the hurry once you get. To the rescue site so you don't fly past the rescue side and have to turn around otherwise you probably spending just as much time as if you only want 50 miles per hour.

Bad color choice - hard to see on the water and blistering hot decks in the sun. Black and red is the new orange and white. Dumb.

11 minutes isn’t a rescue, it’s a recovery. They get toys after refusing to respond at ‘the summer of love’ CHAZ shootings?
