A couple weeks back I attended the Radwood 80s/90s car show in Las Vegas with my podcast co-host Paul. The show was jam packed with all sorts of iconic machines from the era-an Acura NSX, multiple Nissan Skylines, and even a Lotus V8 swapped DeLorean. However, I naturally gravitated towards the vehicles that are a bit more obscure, forgotten, and even unloved. One of the great things about Radwood is its inclusive nature-a pristine, low-mile Porsche 911 can be parked directly adjacent to a work-in-progress Toyota Corolla, and people are equally excited to see both. Always great to talk to everyone and hear the stories behind their 80s/90s cars. Come join us!

I gotta agree that the Starion is on my bucket-list too! That one was SWEET! And the Mercedes 300TD looked incredible with the color matched hubcaps. And I’m diggin the young guy with the Celica, lovin’ on his ride and sporting the look/fashion of the time!

It had 4 wheel steering. Different power modes. Different suspension modes. Doilies on the head rests. Power adjustable front seats. A cabin air filter fan behind the rear head rests, electric windows and mirrors, etc.

Seriously, if you exclude the fields of science and medicine, yes they were better. Sure there was the cold war but we all could live with that. You could actually repair cars (For me, the only thing car manufacturers got really better at is rustproofing.) In those days, the music was better. Computer games were more fun. Everybody had actual physical friends. Movies were funnier and more exciting. TV was less dramatic. Going to the video rental place was actually an event. Most people had a decent paying job. College graduates were hired before they graduated. There was a lot of optimism for the future. New things that came out actually made you go WOW. Things were progressing at breakneck speeds and it was fun to see. I think this video clip sums up the 80's perfectly ruclips.net/video/8qrriKcwvlY/видео.html
