      I think that it really was the "perfect storm" that rained down on these poor children.
      Jodi is a criminally insane serial child abuser (and I don't just say that as a random insult, I think she has mental health and personal issues that make her dangerous to society).
      She has a long history of abuse of children and manipulating/corrupting parents into hurting their kids. In fact, I wonder if turning the parents against their own offspring is part of her sick methodology.
      But I digress. Hildebrandt is a serial offender with a long history of this kind of thing.
      But Ruby...I think Ruby always hated the children who were the victims in this case. She was always cruelest to them and it was very clear they were her "unfavorite". I think she wanted to hurt them, and indeed I think she already was hurting them prior to Jodi's involvement, just in small subtle ways. Jodi gave Ruby the excuse and physical environment to do what she already wanted to do.

    How many people they have harmed with their "therapy". Ruby's children lived under this for years. From denying them beds, food, punishing them for the smallest indiscretion. All those lives hurt from these two selfish people who thought they knew everything.

      Jodi's niece has been vocal about her own abuse, so we know there are others. Jodi also had her license suspended in the past due to inappropriate behavior. I think Jodi sucked Ruby into her web. Not excusing Ruby at all. She threw away a lucrative RUclips channel and her marriage just to hang with Jodi, so she's just as guilty. I'm glad the children were spared a trial experience, but it does feel like they got to take the easy way out by pleading guilty.

      How many people? Quite a lot unfortunately at least when it comes to Jodi.
      If you look at enough videos on this case you will find people in the comments talking about their horrible treatment at Hildebrandt's hands. A lot of it is the way she destroyed their relationships but quite a few have people talking about how she manipulated their parents into abusing them.
      There was even one person who admitted being manipulated into becoming abusive towards their son under her "guidance" but stopped when their conscience couldn't take anymore.
      So she has harmed a lot of people.

      However, now Kevin and Sheri have worked thru the issue, Kevin has learned it was the police that broke the door down to check if children was there. He has also learned that Sheri was not stealing anything. On instructions from the police, she was taking iPads, journals, and other things of importance and was genuinely unaware that some of the things taken were her father's. Once she became aware of this, she willingly and quickly gave her father's possession back to him. Sadly in the video where Kevin received the stuff from police, he and Sherri had not yet spoken to each other to learn the complete truth. This has all been substantiated in other videos.

    I believe that Ruby's desynchronization in the beginning comes from the fact that she blames Jodi. The way her family supports her and her monologue (that was obviously targeted for her family) during the guilty pleas, I truly believe she thinks she's innocent and puts all of the blame on Jodi. And yes, Jodi is cold as ice, but Ruby has an equally dark mind, she's just way more manipulative.

    I think something that should be noted is that pleading guilty to breaking the LAW is not the same thing as believing you did something wrong.
    Personally, I believe BOTH women agreed to the plea agreements for two reasons.
    1. Keep the kids having to testify and
    2. To stop the fact finding and deep investigating that would continue while preparing for trial.
    I don't think they want too keep the kids of th stand in order to protect the kids. I think they want to protect themselves. The more the kids are asked.... the more the kids will answer. They don't want that.
    Even though what is clearly stated in their plea agreement is disgusting and evil, I sadly think it gets worse. And they dont want it talked about further.
    The case obviously still has a bit more time before sentencing and the like but the guilty pleas largely stop the fact finding and investigating.
    I think there is a possibility that a federal investigation may continue, particularly into Jodi. But into Connexions as a hole. The possibility of that however is not the same the probability. I hope it does.

    It’s good the prosecutors accepted a plea agreement so those kids can just get on with recovery ❤ FYI up to 30years a piece on the table (Utah state law on 30yr max for guilty pleas. No amount of time will ever seem long enough but it’ll be shite for them even if they get 4-6yrs a piece )

    • @brynbailey7132
      @brynbailey7132 5 месяцев назад +2

      I heard each charge carries a 15 year time frame and they'd be served consecutively so it's up to 60 years. Jodi's niece said the prosecutor hinted to her that the full 60 years is a very strong possibility.

    • @OpalLeigh
      @OpalLeigh 5 месяцев назад +1

      💯 I know people wanted to see Ruby and Jodie go to court, but this is truly the better option 😢 those kids don’t have to testify against their mom. She deserves it, but it would be so hard on them.

    • @harry95b15
      @harry95b15 5 месяцев назад +3

      @brynbailey7132 there is a separate Utah statute that caps the maximum time for consecutive non- life sentences to 30 years. So even though they have 4 counts with a maximum of 15 years each the most they could possibly get is 30 years consecutively. Natalie lawyer chick released a video on 1/7 I believe where she goes over this in detail.

    Jodi is as cold as ice, the only emotional reaction was to smirk over the drugs/alcohol question and yet to just quite factually admit to child abuse without any reaction is deeply disturbing. Ruby knows she's f*cked and is most probably feeling extremely sorry for herself now.

    I appreciate your willingness to concede that many things are innocuous and/or contextually irrelevant, unlike some who will try to craft a narrative with every blink and frown. I think Ruby will do relatively better behind bars than Jodi. Ruby will make friends, play the game, and as long as she has some kind of attention, she may even "thrive." I'd wager Jodi will make of it what she can eventually, but she will suffer every minute of it. I imagine she sees Ruby as responsible and she's paying the price for Ruby's actions. We all know Jodi was complicit at least, and encouraging and participating at worst, so she deserves to be there, but I do wish Ruby the worst of it. She has no capacity for remorse. She's the type to learn from this that she needs to hide things better, because people "don't understand it." She probably won't change, aside from what she lets the world see.

      She definitely tried to look good for the cameras and the "occasion." Probably paid or bartered with another inmate to help and is likely trying her best to manipulate other inmates and CEO's as well because while everyone is saying she'll getbwhat she deserves inside, remember who shes surrounded by!
      And yes, she is evil.

    I think the look on her face is so revealing to me. Imo her face says to me... How dare you people. How dare question me. She looks confused. Like she really never thought she cld ever be caught. Did u see the way she looked around the room? She doesn't have an ounce of remorse or guilt on her face. All of this is something she never imagined this happening to her. She believed that she was above the law. I disagree with how u perceive her.

    Why is the plea deal open ended after what they did ? Why is there no time limit or they go to trial? I understand how traumatic it would be for the children but it’s even worse if they are shown what they did didn’t warrant a long jail term. Even before this , I couldn’t stand the way she spoke about the lunch incident .

      I mean they could get 30 years. Imagine a jury DIDNT find them guilty of everything because there were other Mormons who buy into it? I personally think this is the best solution for everyone involved.

    • @mikusheadphones
      @mikusheadphones 4 месяца назад +2

      Because going to trial makes it to the children would be constantly revictimized and have to testify. They would have been found guilty regardless of a plea or not and the max sentencing they could get is 30 years regardless

    Fascinating because every lawyer breaking down the hearing said "if looks could kill" kind of behaviour for both at the beginning when they look around. One even mentioned she thinks the initial conversation Jodi had with her attorney was to "fix her face" because your lawyers don't want you to come across confrontational.

    As a lawyer, what I notice is that Jodi tended to say “No your honor” which is how clients are usually advised to answer. However, Ruby just says yes or no. I would see the head dip as an acknowledgement of the power of the judge rather than the verbal use of the honorific. And the way of sitting rigidly is very common - getting through any kind of hearing is stressful and you just want it over with. I also find it interesting that Jodi stood for the whole time and Ruby sat down as soon as she could, and only stood when her lawyer signaled her. She then sat down again when her lawyer was asked to approach. This most likely stems from the instructions the clients were given by their lawyer, and their level of understanding of courtroom decorum . The setting is quite different from something like an interview or interrogation
