You have found some little gems for us little gems (5’1”) thank you for doing the hard work Christine. Your new sewing space is lovely having good light and a great view it is bound to benefit your sewing.Where were your little dogs today? I missed seeing them. My two dogs are curled up asleep and totally fed up with the rain, they hate going out in the wet weather.😂Have a good sewing week and take care.🌹🌹🌹

Thank you, Christine. I have such narrow shoulders and short waist that I struggle with bodice blocks. I’m hoping these pattern company suggestions help me. You may have saved my sanity! 😘😊

Thank you for this vlog!! I have shrunk two inches due to my spine collapsing-and need a pattern to acommodate my now 5'3" body-still a plus size around though-also due to health issues...I cannot wait to try these out!! :+)

We’ve had visitors this week so I had 3 of your vlogs to catch up on. What a treat. I’ve not been subscribing for long, but I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for everything you do. I have a feeling you completely understand how sewing can be a lonely hobby and having you pop up from time to time is simply wonderful. I’m a good 5’6” but I thoroughly enjoyed your petite edition - it’s all down to you. I’m doing the Foldline online sewcial this weekend and hope to go to one in person soon. Anyway, thank you.

Great vlog, some good options to investigate. Just starting on my sewing journey and a bit daunted by pattern adjustments, curvy (size 14 in shops) and 4' 11. Always steer clear of anything ready made that has a tiered skirt, never mind patterns!

Thank you for this. I gave made the vikisews daphne trousers for my daughter but she is 5'11". I am only 5'3".
I have great fun when making things for my daughter, I have to add so much. The vikisews trousers for up to 6'1" was only just long enough for my daughter.
I need petite for my bodice length, shoulders and sleeves.
I had never heard of petite plus. I love princess seamed clothes. I will go and check them out.
I haven't heard of the last company either.

Thank you Christine for this blog, I know how you feel, was 5ft 2 but have lost 4 inches over the last 10 years or so. Am 4ft 10 now ! Have to make so many alterations to my patterns narrow shoulders, body length, busty, but small everywhere else. Get so fed up not being able to get patterns to fit, and also ready made clothes also have to alter, so thank you for your research for petite patterns .

Great vlog Christine. I cut my teeth on the big 4 as they were known then and Vogue was my favourite. I've used Vicki sews and loved them. I also did the egg bag from her. There needs to be more company's with height included as most of us sew due to not being able to find suitable of the peg solutions. In my case I started sewing because petite sizing was rare when I was younger. ❤

Me too and big four patterns were the only choice. Thank goodness for all the Indi pattern companies out there now, but more of them need to include petite size options

Really enjoyed this, Christine, thank you. I’m a bog standard 5 ft 5, but my mum is 5 foot two so I could sew some of these patterns as presents for her. Loving the sound of “SB, CC”. I learned to crochet from a book called “Stitch and Bitch: the Happy Hooker”, and that was brilliant too! Xxx

Another great vlog Christine...what a lot of research. Loved that Vogue top pattern!!! I am the same height as you and always have to alter. I tend to use a lot of Pattern Emporium patterns who don't have petite per se but they have regular and tall. X

5ft half inch here. I've started using nancy zieman pivot and slide for adjustments cos I always have to do a sway back and raise the waist. The one pattern company ive not made any alterations is The petitedressmaker, aussie company. They do standard size too but also cup sizes I'll be looking at sbcc 😊

I know exactly what you mean, I am sick of having to take my patterns up so much that it ruins the style. I am only 4 foot 11 and a half on a good day and need a curvy size. I like Pattern Emporium, they do sizes for tall, regular and short in all the lengths like mini, knee, midi and maxi
