2:37 as soon as I heard the first note I realized exactly what song it was. It sounds almost exact to the studio version. Weird coincidence that I’ve been listening a lot to Ok Computer during the past few days. Timeless masterpiece.
2:14 This is great -- I hear and play Owner of a Lonely Heart nearly every time I'm plugged into my superbeetle too! They must have recorded through a VOX
I got one of these on Sunday and it's as cool as "Airbag." I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one to immediately think of playing that song through the MSB.
Picked up a used MSB because of your videos! Have you done a video on different tone settings using this amp. I'm struggling getting a decent sound with my tele or casino. Thanks, love the videos!
Great review! I have an an AC30CC2x I used years ago. Also a Valvetronix AD60VT that is very friendly for home use. The AC30 is just to brutal to use at home. Would you recommend the MSB for recording, and I also have a Tonelab EX. In your opinion do you think the MSB would accept it? I understand you’ve just gone through a range of pedals and I’m convinced. Not sure my AC30CC2X was all that comfortable with the tonelab. I’m kind of hoping for any excuse to get this Superbeetle. Hopefully it suits my home recording needs.
hey thanks! ya I think it's great for recording. I've had it in many videos on my channel, just do a search. I don't know the Tonelab EX, I'll have to look it up.
Landon Bailey I know and it sounds great. Something just bothers me that no one has managed to do this yet on RUclips. Lol. I’m thinking of getting a 12” and making it look like a bigger version of the stock cabinet.
Landon: how does the Super Beetle compare to an AC-15? I'm only using this for home (bedroom) use. It's pretty easy to find an AC15 used for $400-$450. Is it worth the extra money for the AC15? the Super Beetle sounds pretty amazing and looks the part for $330 brand new. Let me know what you think
@@landonbailey Thanks.....one more question. The AC4 and AC10 are more designed on the Top Boost setting of the AC15/AC30. Is the Super Beetle the same or is it voiced more like the Normal channel in your opinion?
that's a really good question. I really didn't spend much time on the Normal channel when I had the AC15. And I prefer the Superbeetle over the AC4 that I have. so I really can't say, except that I plug in my guitar and love the tones everytime. :) Sorry that doesn't really help, but I think KORG/VOX would only know the voicing they were going for.
Actually when you had the big muff sounding "farty" you had the "spirit in the sky" sound perfect !! Sounds like it handles pedals into the front well. Or does it have a effects loop i forget. lol Great as always bud!!
Landon, great video. Can you get some good Brian May tones (think One Vision, Tie Your Mother down, I Want It All) ou of the MSB? Have you tested a treble booster?
No prob. If you happen to try some Brian May stuff I would be delighted if you let me know. I am wrestling with a choice between three nutube vox amps: the MSB, the MV50 AC and the Cambridge50.
@@f.valguarnera1486 Idk if you bought your amp already, but I ordered an MSB yesterday, and I have a treble booster... I'll let you know how it takes to it after i put it thru its paces
Sounds great! I like my DS1 and Screamer on a crunch sound. I think the plus with this amp, you can do this at a low volume. Most of my amps are class a and the volume is ridiculous to put the pedals on a crunchy amp. I have heard people say this amp is thin sounding. I totally disagree, but you can put it on a cab with 12 inch speakers and it does sound bigger. Really sounds good with Celestion V speakers.
Maybe someone can help me? Im kind of dissapointed when it comes to using high gain pedals with the Superbeetle. I absolutely love my Megalith Delta Distortion Pedal, when it comes to the heavier sounds. But if you plug this beast in front of the Superbeetle it seems like it’s eating the Vox alive. The Vox doesn’t seem to take high output pedals very well. The same pedal into my AC15C1 was a match made in heaven. But because of the weight I sold the AC and just kept the Mini because they both deliver the Voxy sound equally good. The mini would be awesome for gigging, but has anybody found a high gain pedal that the Vox takes well?
Late to the party. I felt the same way at first. It just took a while to dial in my pedals to agree with this amp. The voicing is quite different than my previous amps. The amps own gain, which is fantastic IMO, doesn't stack particularly well with other gains and will turn their tones to gravel if it's even a little bit too high.
I have a SuperBeetle, love it, but it doesn't take pedals very well in my opinión. The only pedal that gives an amazing sound is a boost pedal. I use always tc electronics rush booster and it feels bigger and brighter. Chears!
What's funny is that, while it's the one with a 'gimmick,' it seems to be far and away the most popular of the series, to include the bigger and more expensive models. I do wish it had an fx loop but mine sounds like a fucking LASER I love it
Lando27Music Top stuff! Thinking of getting this and having a mini stereo rig. What other lunchbox mini amp would you recommend to go with this? Seen you’ve played through a lot of them
@@landonbailey maybe it's just me but I'm trying to connect a compressor, a boost, and a boss Blues driver 2 to my amp, and when I switch them on they sound terrible, so I've gone back to to just using the amp directly. I've also connected the MSB head to my Marshall 1960 A lead 4 x 12 cabinet to use the head on full power 50 watts. It's very very loud but I just can't seem to get these pedals sorted out.
@@landonbailey Yes, but I have it from some months ago before I had pedals, and now I'm starting to buy pedals and stuff, would be better to have a mini beetle?
Great video man. Digging the style of the videos too!
thanks man!

I like how it sounds with pedals. Big muff surprised me when you turned down the gain and the TS sounded good also. Cool amp! Thanks for the demo.

I heard that Spirit in the Sky, solid job!
good chance of it, especially with fuzz pedals 😃👍
Another stellar video from the vast production team at Lando Corp.
thanks man! we've been established since 1979 😁🎸
Hey Lando, that lil’ Super Beatle does anything needed. Now run 2-3-4 in tandem!!!🤘🏼🇬🇧🎸⚡️⚡️
It handles the pedals admirably Landon which really surprised me. Another excellent video Landon thanks!!
thanks Tom!

I would truly love to see how this amp sounds with two of the cabinets it comes with.

Just bought this thanks dude
nice! one year later and I still love it
So it’s advertised as 25watts but in the specs it’s saying 40watt output?!? Fucking awesome, gotta 4x12 cab I’m dying to try it pit

Landon you can't push a solid state amp with a drive or boost...you need to have tubes in the amp to push it with a drive or boost pedal.
