    With its Legitimate 60s looks, the Mini Superbeetle is too cool to pass up. But it's not just about the looks - this amp packs a serious sonic punch. With Vox / Korg's Nutube technology the Mini Superbeetle is not just for beatles fans. It takes pedals extremely well and the 10 inch Celestion speaker delivers a lot of tone!
    The Vox MSB25 can be shiny and chimey like an AC30 but also flat and clean like a Fender Blackface Amp. Don't be fooled by it only being 2 feet tall, this amp is a monster.

    I love sharing this fact, because most owners of this amp do not know this, but when you use the headphones/line out, you can put your cable in half way and it BYPASSES THE CAB SIM!!! This is an awesome, awesome feature. It means you can record the pre amp of the amp without the cab sim, and then you can use your own cab sims/IRs!!!!

    I have two modelling amps (Fender & Marshall) and I'm tempted to try out a tube amp for the legendary tone but there aren't many options locally and I buy most of my gear online so I wanted something lighter and came across suggestions of these Nutube amps by Vox. I mostly play at home & occasionally at a friend's house, and this little amp checks all the boxes! Loved your review and your enthusiasm is infectious! Beautiful guitars and playing! I promised myself not to buy any more guitars or amps this year but if or when I do break that promise to myself, this will be the one!

I might even look mat pulling the plug on one of these, as no Vox amps yet it seems be good for my lack of sleep nights of about 1hr 30min average sleep over 7 days, so late night early morning, as was thinking of the go mini, yet some nice rounder tones opn my end especially with the Fender 61 Single coils. Have the 61 vintage white mint guard USA 2011, when you got the 5 way switch in a packet in case. as I have 5 way Strat so 61 stays as its 3 way and open bridge The 61 fender vintage coils and a .5 mfd paper oil Fender cap, I think why the bridge is playable with out ice picking as some .022 caps are..cheers. Let it Be loud! I have had this amp ever since it came out in 2018. Really nice and I actually did gig with it - as you can go directly into the PA through the Lineout. Great amp and I compared it with my AC15 - and it definitely has the Vox genes. Though the AC15 has more low end, when you play it over the box. But the Mini Superbeetle is a small, versatile amp, great for home use and if necessary even playing live. Would not want to miss it!

    Andy, you seemed very, very excited about this amp. My girlfriend wanted me to post that it's a good thing you had a guitar in front of you because you were sounding like you were sporting some wood. Granted, with good reason though, as that is a damn fine amp, especially for the money. I've blown quite a few people away with this head alone. Took it to my guitar teacher to let him hear it, and he was blown away. Tube sound, and feel, yet it's in a box that ways less than his lunch box.
    For anyone on the fence about this amp, take Andy's advice, and just buy one. If you don't like it, which I doubt, you can easily put it right back on the market, and someone else will buy it from you. This amp is a hidden gem, that can really put out some wind if you hook it up to a bigger cab/speaker. It looks top notch, and classy. It's a living room amp, it's a studio amp, and as Andy said, mic it up, and run it through a PA, and you could do a small gig with it. It takes pedals quite well, and it's quiet. No big hissing noise when you have it on.
    This amp is a winner. It ticks the boxes. Get one today.

      I've been trying to figure out why this amp has that INCREDIBLE sizzle when you push it to distorted levels. Especially if simply using the on-board levels to achieve distortion, there is a sizzle that rides along the edge. Some pedals get you there, too. But not all. It's probably the most incredible sound I've ever heard. Is that what a tube sounds like? That SIZZLE??! It's awesome and making me wish I had a bigger VOX nutube

    I gave this little gem a run at Sweetwater a few months back and it was very surprising to say the least. It sounds the part and is definitely a nod to its AC series big Brothers, what truly surprised me was how incredible it sounded through a 2x12 Celestion Vintage 30 equipped extension cab. It was loud enough to do small venues and if you didn't know that it was solid state you would swear it was conventional vacuum tubes. While the gain is more classic oriented it does a decent job for Roadhouse blues and southern rock tones where it does not need to be like a distortion as much as a natural push of a tube amp breaking up. I ran a boss DD-2 through it and Holy mother of God it responded like a champ. It gave off great punk tones. For what it delivers and how articulate it is you would be hard pressed to find an amp in this price range that could compete.

    • @jeremyb9277

    • @killacoiler1707
      @killacoiler1707 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@sungphoto yes IMO it is a great candidate for a pedal board. It uses nanotube technology which allows it to replicate AC style tube responsiveness but I would definitely use a 7 or 8 band equalizer pedal to really dial in the tone.
      Quite frankly this amp is one of the few solid state amplifiers outside of the Tone Master series of amps that really delivers tube cleans. However, just like the Tone Master amps if you are looking for that natural break up tube tone by driving the amp it is going to fall short. You will definitely want to use a pedal for driven tones, and again, I suggest adding an equalizer pedal so you can tweak your tone (eliminate the muddiness associated with SS driven tones) as IMO the onboard 3 band does not quite get the job done when you are going for driven tones. You might also consider a tube overdrive pedal (check out Bootlegger Guitars they have a really good one.)

    • @sungphoto
      @sungphoto 8 месяцев назад

      Thanks!@@killacoiler1707 I think I'm going to go the AC15 route after a lot of comparisons. It seems like there just isn't a replacement for tubes if you want those pure top end clean tones. Wow I must say I’ve been intrigued by these unique amps since I heard other guitar players speak highly of them even though it was only a few Zi heard speak of these because most people haven’t mentioned them to me. The sounds you got were great no matter what guitar and pickups you were playing and the pedals sounded really good through the amp as well. It’s cool that the reverb and tremolo are strong as opposed to weak because it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, plus it takes pedals so we’ll that you could just use your favorite reverb and trem pedals through it instead of the ones in the amp. I’ve come to learn that tube amps are just too loud for me playing at home and it’s a waste of money for me to try and make one work. There are amazing sounding solid state amps like Boss Katana, Orange Crush and this Vox that will give you great sounds without needing to be turned up to rediculous levels or attenuated with more gear. Awesome demo and now I want to get one myself. “Let It Be…Loud!”

    I’ve owned this amp, and also the MV50 AC, the Vox VX50 GTV, and the Vox VX50BA. All of them are nutube amps. Unless you want the aesthetics of this amp, I recommend the Vox VX50 GTV, It basically does what this does but way more. If you need a bigger speaker than the VX50, look out for the Cambridge which is basically the same but with a bigger speaker. Unless you really want the portable head specifically to hook up to different types of speakers, go with the VX50.

    I've been lucky enough to play a full size one. Imagine the sounds you've got going on with the wee one, BUT just teeth-meltingly loud. I'm not kidding, they are unbelievably loud. I played one in a decently sized church hall and it was ridiculous. tons of fun, mind. if I wasn't on an amp moratorium I'd definitely be interested in one of these... great vid! (in a bizarre coincidence we did in fact play Let it Be, loud!!!) I'm fairly sure that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers had to stop using them live because they were too loud, but they wheeled them out on stage anyway, cos they looked cool. For my money they are THE coolest looking amp ever.

    Andy - my love - first of all: of course I love seeing this, for all the reasons you know why. Second: your videos got really good man. You know I'm not a gear guy at all and I rarely tune into gear videos. Every now and then checking some stuff friends do, like now, and I have to say: you got it all. Love the little things like "live EQ blend ins while playing", giving your subjective opinion while pointing out THAT is a subjective opinion and stating WHY you came to that opinion, and not in nerdy tech takl ways, but in a way a "player" would talk about sound. Also I love your face, but that's neither here nor there.
    Great clip. Really informative and enjoyable.
    Much love
    Dracu

    Yesss.........., this Voxy-tin delivers a wide range of tones and combined with pedals the sun may rise a little bit higher! But if you want "the wolf to come out and leaving its sheeps behind"......just choose another cabinet! The original one looks really stylish but the tone reminds me of a shoe box. But don't get me wrong, the sound still keeps a nice vintage vibe!
    I own a 1x12 (doityourself)- cabinet equipped with a Peavey-Blue Marvel-speaker and the tone delivers really more bottom, there is more flesh in it. The wolf would probably be happier if he liked more modern sounds!

    Let it be...loud. Great video. Just found your channel today. I'll be visiting regularly. It's really a great amp. It was between that one and the AC10C1. I got the AC10 because there was one in stock at a local Guitar Center and the Superbeetle was backordered. My wife had seen them both and said the AC10 looked more "me" so I pulled the trigger. Have not looked back. I'll probably getting one of these soon as well. Best

    I own one, it's the perfect amp for home use, and it can do even more ! My only concern is the lack of a VERY FEW things to make it even better : make the tremolo and reverb switchable, and the drive too ! And please, add a AUX input, just like on the BASS version.
