Great job, sounds Fab! Vox is my go to amp company. I’ve been using an AC-15 as my main rig for years, and I love it. Also just bought a Pathfinder 10 B for low volume practice, and grab ‘n go situations. It’s fantastic, sounds even better than the guitar version, plus I can play my bass through it too. 😁👍

hey, I have to say, what you did at about 5:30 - 5:45 is the most helpful comparison I've seen. that's the type of thing I always wanted reviews to do, so props for your editing style, thank you.
I have one of these and absolutely love mine. I was really surprised to find that this amp actually sounds like my 66 supperbeetle I used to own. I must say VOX did their homework on this one. I couldn't be any happier with this little amp. And yes I gig with it and it sounds great. So glad that VOX included a line out on this one!!
My Grandson, Cleveland Cavaliers Hip Hop dance team member last two years,, I am 70 born in 1948 and started playing in rock bands when I was 13 in Cleveland. Grew up with all the British Invasion tunes, and had a number of Guitars and Amps,,,one was a 65 Vox Viscount 60 watts, Solid state Thomas Organ AC30 clone, two BullDog Speakers and MRB, Midrange Resonance Boost,,,something Vox shold bring back for everyone. Today I do SoloAcoustic 60's gigs in Buffalo NY. Just like you I bought the Mini Super Beetle the day one arrived at Music City, close to where I work. It is an Awesome Amp, even though Electric Guitar amps are not what I usually own. I installed a genuine Vox Handle on the side of the Speaker Cab, and looking to have covers made. Can't use it as a stand alone Gig because no DI Out, or MIC input, so I will stick to playing it at home, or drag it out to a Coffee House or Bar Open Mic that I run sometimes. Your review was very personal, easy to follow and honest in my opinion. I actually have too many amps,,,The Viscount at almost 80lbs is too much to haul around like I did in the 60's,,,,actually had to haul base Player's Super Beatle and keyboard Player had a Royal Guardsman. I am just like you and you actually "have it" in spite of not growing up in the 60's special music era. This Amp is a Must Have for anyone who loves the 60's and the Byrds and Tom Petty.
Yup had a Viscount in my band in San Diego. In fact we had all VOX amps, PA system, and our drummer still has his old VOX teardrop drum set. Always wanted a Super "Beatle". Might just have to go pick up one of these little cuties. I found a VISCOUNT in FL and had it shipped to me. Has a few problems but mostly still sounds great.
Thanks for showing how to play the songs. Amp sounds really nice and looks just like the originals that made me a Beatle fanatic back in '63 when I was 13 and hardly played the guitar, that I started with lessons at the ripe old age of six. Since then I never did that great in school again and was in a band almost immediately. This really does bring back a lot of memories, very fond ones indeed.
thanks for this mate, great presentation and demo - I own one of these and its great fun....I had a 1963 vox ac30 which got stolen in the 90's, I've never got over it.
Bought one based on your vids...be here in 2 days...Can hardly wait! Going to slip a set of P90's onto one of my clone 335's, plus have a Rick clone that is good at the jangly sound...Teles and strats and real LP's, even a vintage Gretsch big box guitar...Will be fun seeing how they all do with this head going thru a Marshall 4x12. Pedals too...looks like weeks of fun just tweaking around with it. Thanks!
Nice! I'd love to try some p90s and Rickenbacker through. My fav is still playing my white Tele. the texas special bridge is great. Let me know how the head sounds into the cab. I've tried a few 1x12s
@@landonbailey Arrived around 4 today...been running different guitars thru it all evening...Clones and real things...ALL sound good with the way this amp responds to the controls, unlike many amps I have owned where you twist and twist and still sound blah...lol Best part, wife walked in after I had it setup and said.."That is really cute!" which was good since it has been a touch testy around here since buying 2 more guitars last month...LOL Will give the 4x12 a try tomorrow.
Excellent demo Landon.I reckon it sounded good with all your guitars but that single coil Tele is awesome ! Cool it has trem & reverb too and it would be cool to hear it through a 12" speaker. Appreciate your sweat getting this video together man, you went through 3 shirts! 🤟😆🎸
I’ve been waiting for you to demo your MSB25, ever since I saw your unboxing. Been checking pretty much daily. Thanks, it was worth the wait. And I agree with you, the Tele with the single coils sounded the best, but I don’t think you got a bad sound out of it with any of the other guitars you used. And I agree that this expanded/updated/revised/whatever MV50 AC is better for the expanded tone stack, trem and reverb.
Loved the reverb on the amp. While it sounds pretty good....I think it needs a 12" speaker. Would be interested to see how it sounds through a bigger cab. Good demo!
in the room the 10" is awesome. hard to capture that. but will be cool to try other cabs. And ya that reverb is one of the best built in digital I’ve played
I used to own a Vox Pathfinder for that "bedroom" use. I hated it... when I saw this one in a NAMM video I preordered one... extremely happy with this amp!
I've been trying to figure out why this amp has that INCREDIBLE sizzle when you push it to distorted levels. Especially if simply using the on-board levels to achieve distortion, there is a sizzle that rides along the edge. Some pedals get you there, too. But not all. It's probably the most incredible sound I've ever heard. Is that what a tube sounds like? That SIZZLE??! It's awesome and making me wish I had a bigger VOX nutube
Great sounding little amp , really get a sense of the lo end through earbuds ! The way it sounds with Telecasters reminds me of an ad for a German Shepard : eats anything , loves kids . Nice video , thanks , have a good one
Very kind , thanks ! By the way , is the neck pickup on the white Tele stock ? Sounds great , and powerful , too . The Deluxe is none too shabby as well !
it's a neck pickup from a Squier Tele 50s Classic Vibe. you can see all about it here A Telecaster Rebuild - 3 Part Series: ruclips.net/p/PLUKDOD2AiVCgprxyFiFZDgz_jnwgpiAzz
It’s not really to my taste looks wise Landon but it’s a great to see you enjoying it. The sound comes across powerful for its size though. Really Entertaining as usual thanks 😊
Much better than the toys they released before! Reverb, tremolo, what else do you need? I wish they sold this without the speaker, because 10 inch speakers can't compete with my lovely 2x12.
Weird thing the reason why they called it the SUPER BEATLE was because they made it 100 watts so it could be heard. So having mini super Beatles is kind of an oxymoron. The amp was based on solid state transistor, like the Buckingham which was a smaller version maybe 25 watts of solid state, and came with a head and cabinet separated and in a tilting stand. But was definitely not loud enough to compete on stage in a live setting. But it was a completely different sound than the AC-30s which George and John used. They used various solid state amps in the recording studio especially during the Sgt Pepper era, but ended up using tube vox amps again to record.
Thanks for the demo. I noticed it didn't seem to have quite the range I heard in the Anderton's, but I think that was because you went through the reverb, tremolo, and gain with the same bass & treble settings. And that's good because it showed the range of those effects. I played this and the AC10C1 in a loud shop (which had a station on quite loud). The MSB25 didn't seem to have the volume of the AC10, nor quite the fullness. Your video confirms, though, that it does sound good. But for two amps with 10" speakers, they sounded a bit different. If choosing between the two, I see a few reasons for the MSB25: 1) The look. 2) The smaller footprint. 3) The MSB25 would probably play better as a bedroom/late night amp. (From what I've heard and read, the AC10 can be loud, even when turned down.) 4) The cheaper price. 5) The ability to go to 50W with a 4 Ohm speaker. Anything else?
ya I didn't touch the Bass and Treble once I found my fav setting. Ya I chose an AC4C1-12 over the Ac10 and I would now choose the MSB25 over both the AC10 and AC4C1-12. More options like you mentioned. Anything else? it's got the Beatles thing :)
@@landonbailey You like the MSB25 over the tube AC10 and AC4C1-12? Wow! I don't get much mid-range or bass response thru my computer speakers in your review, as good as it is. Playing live in the room, is it mostly treble response, or does it have some mid-range also? Thanks for your review and comments! All I have that is Vox is the Mini3 G2, which suggests I could get into some AC style tones.
This is a follow up comment to my previous one. Actually, it's a question. I've read opinions expressed in discussion forums that the MSB25 is "flimsy." Is the build quality less robust than an AC4C1-12 or a Pathfinder 15R? I think some of the complaints have been specifically directed at the power supply cord. What do you think? Would you feel confident taking yours to a small gig?
I don't see any build quality issues at all. The power supply is similar to anything you would get with a laptop, and ya I wouldn't be worried about taking it to a small gig, however I don't think it's really aimed at gigs. :)
@@landonbailey I would gig with one, if I pulled the trigger on this. I do quiet, small venues, and for years I've used a Vox Pathfinder 15R for such gigs. If the PF15R is a giggable amp, then I don't see why the MSB25 wouldn't be also. If anything, the cab is bigger than the Pathfinder, the speaker is larger, the wattage output is greater.
I can't choose this or the Vox Pathfinder 10 since they both have that classic Vox chime and have a big amp for such a small amp. Which do you prefer playing with more or which do you recommend more for the price and size? Also how do you feel about both amps not having Mid controls? I'd love to hear your say on this!
I'm for sure getting this as my next amp, only thing I'm wondering is does it come with the cables you need to hook head to cab? I've only ever owned combos before so don't have speaker cables or whatever they are
I look forward to it. As a former AC4 owner, I never felt it had the bass or body I needed. I'm curious if this might do that small AC thing a little better.
@@landonbailey Thank you Landon. Loved the live stream. I missed 15 minutes as my video part blacked out. Probably phone couldnt upload and stream. So I went back and watched. Hehehehe. Peace and congrats on 10k.
I like the Ac10 too. haven't compared side by side though, but I'm guessing they are pretty similar tone wise. If I had to pick again, I would get the Superbeetle
@@landonbailey I have recently become obsessed with Les Paul, and SG Jr.'s. I recently purchased both. They are just stripped down rock and roll machines.
I’m sold. Great vid man. -Question, if I wanted to add another cab along with the stock one, how would I go about it? Do I need another 8 ohm cab to balance it?
Ya it's an awesome amp! I copy pasted from the official manual to answer your speaker question "When two speaker cabinets are connected simultaneously, it is parallel connection. Minimum load is 4 ohms in total. When connecting the two speaker cabinets of the same load, please use a speaker cabinet of 8 ohms or more each."
Lando27Music big thanks. I guess as long as both cabs are 8 ohms or above you are good. I got a Mini Super Beetle today. Sounds ⚡️⚡️...definitely not a toy!
@@landonbailey thanks, I guess I'm curious if patches like these: bosstonecentral.com/liveset/detail/blues_collection_1/ would still come out clear or if I should go with the mv50 clean instead? Thanks
Nice review. I plan on getting one. I wasn't too impressed with the Tele going through it. It just sounded a little to tinny to my ears; I actually though the Strat sounded better. I play a MIC Ricky 350 copy and a Gibson LP with P-90's; I think the MSB will work perfect with them. Again thanks for the review.
Take notes MARSHALL. They could sell many more studio vintage ( or super leads amps) combos wich many can't afford. I don't get their prices. Its like the Les paul of the amps. Its Never cheap🤣.
Too bad they didn't stuff a 12" in the cab. This sounds less full, more boxy and cheap, like a small combo. I would do surgery to change that, period. Sorry I'm so late seeing this....
It all sounds pretty good, but I think the humbuckers fill out the sound and make it seem a little "nicer" if that makes sense. The tele is a little squacky, but again, not a bad thing.

So is this like a vt20x or 40x meaning it is their Valvtronix? Only had 12ax7 in the preamp ?
Nutube tubes!
@@landonbailey ah. Like the mini heads!
@@landonbailey Thank you Landon. Loved the live stream. I missed 15 minutes as my video part blacked out. Probably phone couldnt upload and stream. So I went back and watched. Hehehehe. Peace and congrats on 10k.
Hi Landon, does it sound good at low volume? Thanks a lot for the demo!
yes it does
@@landonbailey I had the chance to test it today at a local music shop. It sounds and feels really good
How does this compare to an AC10? If I can get this or an AC10, what's the better choice. Regardless, I love how this looks though.
I like the Ac10 too. haven't compared side by side though, but I'm guessing they are pretty similar tone wise. If I had to pick again, I would get the Superbeetle
If you can try some P90 pickups please.
hopefully some day!
@@landonbailey I have recently become obsessed with Les Paul, and SG Jr.'s. I recently purchased both. They are just stripped down rock and roll machines.
I'd love to hear it with an Epiphone Casino
I imagine it would be great!
Revolution overdrive was John Lennon plugging into the console
it was dirty! cool. thanks for the background info. there's much cool Beatles trivia and history
Why don’t you guys build a full size Vox Super beetle amplifier I know I would buy one or two maybe three or four
I dont build amps. 😁
What arena’s do you play in?
I like the sound more than an AC30??!! Am I sick?
no, it's a really cool amp
If I see I used one at the right price I would probably buy one. I have too many amps as it is right now to justify new at full price.
I'm sorry but, what do you mean by the phrase "I have too many amps.."? I am not familiar with vernacular.
So are the settings pictured at 3:20 pretty much what you had everything set at for most of this demo?
ya the only thing I changed was the gain and reverb
I’m sold. Great vid man. -Question, if I wanted to add another cab along with the stock one, how would I go about it? Do I need another 8 ohm cab to balance it?
Ya it's an awesome amp! I copy pasted from the official manual to answer your speaker question "When two speaker cabinets are connected simultaneously, it is parallel
connection. Minimum load is 4 ohms in total. When connecting the two
speaker cabinets of the same load, please use a speaker cabinet of 8 ohms
or more each."
Lando27Music big thanks. I guess as long as both cabs are 8 ohms or above you are good. I got a Mini Super Beetle today. Sounds ⚡️⚡️...definitely not a toy!
ya that's the way I understand the manual too. I love that little amp
Great video friend! Super like and new suscriber ;-)
thanks so much! 👍🎸😁
Great Video! Could you compare it to the Vox AC15?
I will definitely compare to the AC4c1-12 which I still own. I don’t have an Ac15 around, but hopefully one day! Thanks for checking out the video :)
Lando27Music Thanks! I‘m looking forward to the comparison!
Did u tried the phone aux? I wonder if it automatically disengages the speaker.
just confirmed, yes the speaker is shutoff when you plug into the Phone/Line Jack
@@landonbailey That was quick! Wow! Thanks mate, u r the best!
no problem! it sounded pretty good in headphones too. First time I've tried them :) take care
This is the amp Page recorded Whole Lotta Love on
can i use it on a small gig even without putting a mic?
Possibly. check this out ruclips.net/video/TxmbUk-H82s/видео.html
Well third times the charm hey!
How does it take pedals? And if you have a multi fx, does it take amp models well like from a boss gt-1?
hey good timing. I'm slowly working on a video about how well it takes on fx pedals. I don't have a multi pedal though. so far so good
@@landonbailey thanks, I guess I'm curious if patches like these: bosstonecentral.com/liveset/detail/blues_collection_1/ would still come out clear or if I should go with the mv50 clean instead?
Ya other guitars sound great through it too, that didnt make it into the video. Do what works for you!
can you stack these?
what do you mean by stack? the head has dual speaker line outs.
i wonder how it’ll sound at a gig
really depends on the venue and band. I did another video with the amp maxed out. check my channel :)
Lando27Music small-medium cafes or local pubs
Take notes MARSHALL. They could sell many more studio vintage ( or super leads amps) combos wich many can't afford. I don't get their prices. Its like the Les paul of the amps. Its Never cheap🤣.
🎸👍
MSB25 vs AC4TV?
are you asking my opinion or for a comparison? 😊
@@landonbailey Opinion? If you have ever played one. I own a AC4 so i was wondering if this is a better amp?
Ive played the ac4tv mini and have some videos on my channel. I would pick the superbeetle overbboth mini amd regular ac4tv
@@landonbailey Damn, Looks like i have to buy it now.
At first I thought this amp was a gimmicky toy. Until I heard it.
Lol yep I think a lot guitar players don’t realise what this amp can do.
It would sound better with a Rickenbacker.
cool have you tried that?
@@landonbailey no, but the Beatles used rics so it will sound like them
Hey did I comment on this yet? Haha
no clue 🤪
Too bad they didn't stuff a 12" in the cab. This sounds less full, more boxy and cheap, like a small combo. I would do surgery to change that, period. Sorry I'm so late seeing this....
I've done a few videos with the amp, including putting it through 12" speakers. do a search for those! 🎸👍😊
@@landonbailey Thanks Landon!
The action on that Tele is WAY too low!
the way I like it
Uh member Atari? Yeah Space Rocks. Worst asteroids game EVAH!
It all sounds pretty good, but I think the humbuckers fill out the sound and make it seem a little "nicer" if that makes sense. The tele is a little squacky, but again, not a bad thing.
it's fun to play through for sure. I've done some follow up videos featuring more humbucker tones too
