      I hope the video made it a little less terrible. I agree that the rules for Crisis and Control are more challenging than the base game. :)

      @@LakesideGamers5 yeah I think I probably should have tried a multiplayer game or two first, but for me it's weird
      the advanced rules for the autonomas make so much more sense because there're actually some descriptions on how things work 😐
      so getting there, I haven't managed to finish a full game yet but your video was a big help

    Already have a video posted. Outstanding!

      Yes. I already had it recorded when you asked. Just needed to edit. I have similar videos for Middle and Working class recorded already. I’m working through edits to get out the next few days, then we’ll work through the advanced rules.

    I hope they fixed the automa manual in the extended version, because MAN that is convoluted.
    The simple and advanced mode should have had different player aids for every faction, with the common rules repeated on each of them, since those are super easy to forget.
    Also, the cards themselves are a bit loose in the explanations.
    For example, would it have been so bad, at the beginning of the Response to Strike automa reference, having the sentence to begin with "During the production phase..."? It may be obvious for some people, but not for everyone. Or even better, what is the Simple Mode automa going to do if I perform a demonstration? I know what the Advanced one would do, but what about the Simple one? Is it going to ignore the demonstration unless a Build Company card is drawn, even if it has the means to stop the demonstration?

    My copy of Hegemony will not arrive until Tuesday, and your videos have been so critical as they have helped prepare me for a 3 player game next Friday. We are planning to play the roles of Working Class, Capitalist and the Middle Class. I am surprised in your video and the Crisis and Control rulebook that there is not an automa for the State. I watched Rahdo's playthrough, and it looks like you set up the State as you normally would, but since there is not a State automa, the State is a passive player that has public companies which hire workers as normal, produce goods, and collect taxes, but doesn't take any actions of their own. Does any rulebook address how to play the "Passive State" role? I guess our other option would be to play the automa for one of the three classes, and have one of us play as the State.
    Thanks so much for your help and creating these instructional videos!

      The things the state does in 2 and 3 player games are interspersed in the main game instructions. It is mostly incidental, like the things you mentioned. I would say your first play just do your original plan and once everyone is familiar with the game someone can be the state with the Automa for another team.

    When playing solo with automa, do I have to stick to the rules of the basic version of the game? 1 player + automa will always be a game of capitalists versus working class or can I do a different combination of factions?

    • @LakesideGamers5
      @LakesideGamers5  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you need to do 2 player with Capitalists and Working Class, 3 adds Middle class, and 4 adds the State. If you really want the state or middle class, you can play with 2 or 3 automas, since all 3 are included. It will just make for a longer game.

    Hey! Which automa do You prefer?

    • @LakesideGamers5
      @LakesideGamers5  9 месяцев назад

      Well, the real question is which team I prefer to play when using automate, because whatever is left ends up being the automa. :). My preference when using automate would be that I play either middle class or the State, and use whatever automas are necessary to fill in the gaps.

      @@LakesideGamers5 So “the hard one” or the “easy one” doesn’t even matter? You get the same feel with either one?

    • @LakesideGamers5
      @LakesideGamers5  9 месяцев назад

      @@alejandrolozano1258 Yes, the automa structure and flow is very similar. If you wrap your head around the automas in general, applying that understanding to each individual automa is pretty easy to do.

    How do I know if it is random (criteria)? Does it need to fulfill all the criteria? Or just if there is any criteria (even 1 only) met then can perform?

    • @LakesideGamers5
      @LakesideGamers5  11 месяцев назад

      For criteria cards, you work from top to bottom. So for the place machinery card, you would first prioritize companies that don’t have another machinery token in their industry. If there is more than one option, then agricultural would be the priority. If there is no agricultural, then luxury, and if no luxury, then education or healthcare based on which is needed, or most expensive, or random. If for ANY of those goods and services there is more than one option (so you have two agricultural companies, for example), then you would place machinery on the one which had highest production. Then and only then, if you have not gotten the choices down to one option, should you randomly choose from the remaining options.
      Does that make sense? The other criteria cards would be treated the same way. Let me know if I can clarify more.

    • @choongkhailoon
      @choongkhailoon 11 месяцев назад

      @@LakesideGamers5 so does it means, if criteria met the most one is applied? If only one criteria met (e.g. no machinery token) and there are no other criteria met, then does it complying the criteria?

    • @LakesideGamers5
      @LakesideGamers5  11 месяцев назад +2

      The minute you have narrowed your usable option to 1, you choose that one. If you have more than one option, you continue to check the criteria from top to bottom on the card, and if you continue to have 2 or more by the end, you choose one at random.
