I have played jazz with Nigel even when he was only a young teenager, he had a propensity to improvise. However, on this tune (Swing 39) he and his ensemble are using the wrong chords, I have heard the chords that Nigel plays , played by many others in past times, but they are wrong and the entire tune sounds cock-eyed in consequence. I suggest that someone with a good ear, listens to the original recording by Django and Stephane, and sits down with a guitar and sorts this problem out. The chords are as follows: Key G. G- G6- G- G6- G -B9-C9-B9--- G-G6-G-G6-G-B9-C9-E----B9-C9-B9-C9-B9-C9-B9 --- G-G6-G-G6-G-B9-C9-B9-E.
Makes no difference to Nigel what the changes are. He just plays effects and gimmicky noises. Total crap.He even got to record for Blue note label. WTFFFFF.
best non Django version i've ever heard
Il a bien tourné Nigel Kennedy: superbe interprétation!
