I built molds and production parts many years ago and the process is expensive and very time consuming. I think your method is genius and you exhibit skill, talent and craftsmanship in your creations. Man I love what you do. I wish I lived close enough to you to do a build project and sip some bourbon.
Great video & great idea on the splitter. glass Chop strand mat is fine for this kind of work & much easier to use than carbon weave & much cheaper. It is pretty much a non structural component.
I am going to make my own rsx wide body thanks to you. Never done anything like this but I never thought id change brakes, or struts or pull an engine either!
Haha to be honest its not the formal way,, but this was just one way of doing it, just the way i started out in the beginning with the resources i had at the time, which just stuck up to this build lol
Your job was done in a very professional manner. The only thing that I suggest you might want want to do on future projects, is use a mold release agent. So when you fiber glass work is complete, you project release easier. All in all, excellent job. 😁😁😁👍👍👍👍😈
Hey bro you're smart with all this stuff can you help we please? I want to glue a custom lip to the front bumper in then mould it in as one. I have tried everything, everything cracks 😩 advice?
Thank you! dang, I remember those meets, used to be one of my favorites until whole bunch of randos started showing up and ruining it for everyone... lol
Good work. I used clay first time builing a custom lip. This time I'm building the same one but going to try this method perhaps. My lip has more of a shovel-like sweep, opposing the curvature of what I see you've chosen yours to be (backwards shovel?) haha
I've learned a lot from you it's nice video I really enjoy watching it my question is do you have to cut the fenders or can you do put that over it as long as your right height is good
Dude that works I'm building a wide body rocket bunny for a 99 Eclipse but I'm doing it from the foam, that's my template, but it takes forever it's been 3 years still molding and shaping that thing
What is that cardboard? I watched in mute. Nevertheless I noticed they charge bumper lips more expensive than bumpers... It's irritating, I know they're making a killing. So I am trying to be cheap. I would like to find something solid I can bond.
Polystyrene huh is that just for the template or is that actually for the lip I've been trying to figure out something to make splitters out of so I can make my own so that might work for me. That is a sick ass car by the way I've subscribed I'm following you
What type of resin is it? I have the paper and I have some fabric here already I just didnt know if it's just plain fiberglass resin mixed with black pigment or something
The fabric I usually would use is a 2nd grade carbon fiber. If i could I try to use a clear resin, but the resin I tend to use for any project that I plan to fill or color, I just use a home improvement grade resin, usually bondo, and they are usually brown in color
Thank you! I think just in material cost, maybe around $200-300? I cant remember haha but with the second quality carbon fiber, it was like fraction of the price of the better fabrics of carbon
Well i guess it depends on what is defined as "regular" but it is real, although i did use a second grade of both plain weave and twill weave carbon fiber
I dont have a link for my materials because i used to get them through a supplier locally. As for the pvc, that is a material i loved using because it was very easy to cut. Only thing is, you have to use a very thin sheet and usually, those are very brittle and break easily.
@ExplosiveBanana and you just asked for polystyrene sheets? I’ve called my local plastic distributor and they had no idea what the hell im talking about then ask me what’s it’s used for and I end up like this 🤦♂️ then hanging up on them
unfortunately, the polystyrene, when I used to work for a sign shop, I would get from our distributor for material. I am currently looking for an online shop that would sell that publicly..
@ExplosiveBanana my apologies, you are correct. I believe that it is not 3mm or 6mm, rather, .030 and .060 in inches, in thickness. but yeah, 3mm and 6mm would be insane to cut with scissors hahahahaha
I am very confused why u wasted money on doing carbon fiber. Same end result with just fiberglass…. Not being mean. But if u want people to see it. It’s not something u want them to see. Bc is u go and polish it. U will see the overlaps.

Definitely going to try making my own fenders after watching all your videos! Thank you
Thats awesome! Thank You!
Thankyou for sharing the process and this technique. It actually came out very well!
Damn, what a find I land on your YT channel! Sick dude!!
Just subscribed ! Great vid!

Stand confident young man. You changed my process.. love the whipp by the way. Keep at it my guy.
That means a lot! Thank you!
@@EMIYOON already my guy, i understand the struggle to get ya ride just right.
You did an awesome job body your efforts was worth it ,I learned something about it keep it up the good work
Once you had it roughed out could you not just lay a single piece on top and bond it with more resign to give it a better finish?
Fenders bro!
will get there soon!
Great job
🔥 once again. Looking goodd
thank you!

really appreciate you calling out your mistake on using small pieces of carbon fibre, then we all learn :D

What are the materials that you used? Btw your work is amazing
Damn look so good 🥶🔥
Enjoyed the video, good work. Cheers
Thank you!
loving it bro!
How is called this white paper when you made a mold? Thx.
Nice work and quite the inspiration for modding my SAAB 9-5 lip. BTW, you live up the road from me. I'm just south of Tacoma.
Prolly not.. lol live up north in near everett
But thank you!! Thatd be dope to see a 9-5!
That was cool. I wanna try doing this too. I still remember this car from uw car club lol
Thank you! dang, I remember those meets, used to be one of my favorites until whole bunch of randos started showing up and ruining it for everyone... lol
Hey bro where can i get those good vents you have there???
What type of screws did you use to attach it to the car?

Being, where the front of the lip meets the side

How much resin did you use
Meu sonho é abrir uma oficina aqui no brasil fazendo esse tipo de personalização. Parabéns irmão! Vc trabalha muito bem.
Great Job...

Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Did you find a way to support the centre?
Good work bro... keep it up
Thank you!
Nice work bud!!
Thank you!
My friend nicely done if you were in my area I'd hire you on the spot to help me with my project .
👍👍
where do you get that polystyrene sheet?
Helo bro i'm from indonesia, good luck your projeck
the best thing to help fiberglass itch ....Cold water run over you until you can't handle no more
🔥🔥🔥

I am in love with your car
Thank you!!!
Brown cardboard better for template than paper
Loving the lip 💯 quick question what’s the total cost of doing all this at home?
Thank you! I think just in material cost, maybe around $200-300? I cant remember haha but with the second quality carbon fiber, it was like fraction of the price of the better fabrics of carbon
no room for the wheels to go up if you hit a speedbump rip
By the way.. coat your arms with a ton.. and I mean a ton of baby powder.. it'll close your pours.. you don't need a long sleeve anymore.. 🙂
Use disposable PAPER PRODUCTS BIODEGRADABLE OR AT LEAST RECYCLABLE
Is it regular Carbon fiber?
Well i guess it depends on what is defined as "regular" but it is real, although i did use a second grade of both plain weave and twill weave carbon fiber
Emi🖐️
You are bad to the bone my brother, how's it going.
Any new video coming out soon?
Thank you so much! hopefully soon! Got a lot of stuff going on but want to get more rolling! thanks for the support!
Nice! How many layers do you applied at one spot?
Usually maybe 4-6 plies
Bro which material useing?
For the template for this buiild, polystyrene and then overlayed with carbonfiber
@@EMIYOON Can I use also pvc foamboard?
@@EMIYOON Could you also send me a link to yours material polystyrene?

Fiberglass resin is not the same as resin for carbon fiber.
Do you have a particular place you buy the polystyrene sheets from?
@ExplosiveBanana and you just asked for polystyrene sheets? I’ve called my local plastic distributor and they had no idea what the hell im talking about then ask me what’s it’s used for and I end up like this 🤦♂️ then hanging up on them

@@doughboyjoe6518 best to try asking a sign shop. its not really a common material used though
Faz mas vídeos assim pra gente
Sub, good job.
I'm older than dirt; that's a sad reality. But I think that your generation or maybe the 40 year old babies say - "I'm stoked, dude".
No one is old! and age is but a number.. but Thank you so much !!
