I love the "let's have some fun" part, with Rivers throwing the sofa cushion into the crowd. And it is NOT a lip sync fail. The video footage is spliced together from at least 2-3 different performances from May. If anything it's either a video editing fail or -- more likely -- a RUclips encoding fail on Google's end. Weezer rocks -- even when they're all on synths!
I remember loving this when it came out despite not really being into MGMT or Gaga. Hard to believe it's already been almost ten years since this was released. I still really love this mash up/cover.
I like MGMT, Gaga, and Weezer so I guess it’s a triple win for me. (I’d suggest at least trying to listen to Oracular Spectacular or The Fame/The Fame Monster at least once though. If it’s not for you that’s cool but I personally love ‘em.)
Weezer did this same Kids/Pokerface medley/cover at the Del Mar Racetrack near San Diego yesterday. Damn they sounded so awesome live! Rivers sounded incredible...great voice. Pat was awesome on the drums too, not to mention the band as a whole! Oh and big ups to the sounds guys...the bass was heart-pounding and so dope. Weezer rules!!!

These covers and music styles really show just how much Weezer has branched out over the past few years. I think that these boys will be making some very new, (different from the old Weezer style), music. This is hard for a band to do!! Let's see how they do it. I remember when the Smashing Pumpkins changed their style......mixed reviews. I think these covers are awesomely cool!!!!!! :)
How can anyone not like this?! It's two great pop songs combined and covered by one of the only gen x bands that are still relative. Also, if you have been successful in the music business since 1993 like Weezer has, there is not much left to do. Why not go out and have some fun? =w=!
That is a lot of respect for MGMT for sure. Great cover, MGMT should be honored for that. And the lady gaga thing was awesome.. I listen to mostly rock but i think its non human to not think that song is catchy.
