    great explanation of wiring for heating. it's often the dead ground between plumbers who don't know electrics and sparks who don't know heating.

    Nice work Mike, been using my Tado system for a year or so now and it’s so good being able to just turn on individual rooms. Just make sure you have plenty of batteries for when all the TRVs decide to go at a similar time. Like your explanation on the wiring centre.

    Great explanation of the wiring center. I have seen plumbers and sparks scared of the wiring centre

    Used Tado for a few years now, excellent stuff 😁I've the wireless thermostat on a stand rather then fixing it to a wall. Also no TRV's as I've a bungalow and we always leave all the (internal!) doors open. I've a hot water tank and I wish they would do a stat for that rather than relying on the original bi-metallic one.

    I installed this setup a few years ago , i found is the tvr , might need the temperature offset as the radiator is normally fitted on the outside wall so centre of the room might be colder (i bought a couple of wireless thermostat and paired them with the tvr in the room and place the thermostat in the middle of the room so the tvr take it temperature for the the wireless thermostat)

    Had tado for a good few years now. Every rad except one has a valve and a load of rooms have a separate thermostat because the rad thermostat is pretty much useless heats up instantly and doesn’t stay on long enough. You need to leave one rad off I read somewhere so there is a way for the system to flow without valves turning on and off.

    The reason those thermostats don't need neutral is because they are powered by AAA batteries. Designed for easy retrofit in place of traditional wired thermostats that never would have had a neutral run to them.

    Hey Mike its been nearly 6 months. Are you planning any video of reviewing this system over time? currently i am on a buy and cannot decide between these and Meross one. Take care!

    You always need one rad on a system that’s always open

    Why didn't you just get the wireless room thermostat

      Wanted the reliability of hard wired although the Tado ones also use a battery.

    • @HenryOCarmichaelSmith
      @HenryOCarmichaelSmith 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I was gonna say I've got one of each and they both use a battery which is why it doesn't need a neutral
