Same, I thought you had to have the hub already.
      So nice to be standalone.

Great video thank you! I have the same midea unit and find on auto it doesn’t maintain the temp very well on auto....even when picking up the remote's temp. Do you think it is controlled better by the tado thermostat at all? also......i presume as the tado is just an ir blaster, the midea unit still has that infernal beep?! (i know you can temporarily disable but you would have to do it every time the unit was turned on). Am looking at these as currently £60ish on black friday.

It does still have the beep for any alterations.
We have no had many issues with auto controlling the heat ok, so not really noticed a pro / con with the Tado. What we do like is the ability to easily schedule heating of the room before work in the morning and off at a certain time, and general remote flexibility.
Only thing we have noted, is to make sure the Tado is not in direct path of the air, as it thinks the window is open so turns off the AC, so just need to test positioning.

Just had the gas cut off and gone with Aircon. The air con has WiFi but the app does not allow scheduling. Mel cloud sucks because of that. I will have a look but then I might need one per Aircon unit.

Certainly need one per unit with this solution, but its working well so far.

The stands that come with them are pretty badly designed. They come with four screws which can’t be used and the controller doesn’t sit snug so it’s pretty wobbly. Also the sticker solution for the wall is cheap, I don’t know why just making a wall mounted plate the same size of the controller didn’t need their heads.
I agree about the haptic feedback being clunky although in this video you didn’t hold your fingers down for two secs as described in the video.
Instead of routing the cable up the wall I drilled a hole through the wall where there was a socket I. The other side of the wall to hide the cables.
As for control within the app I find it boring have to click the arrow in the top right corner to confirm a change each time. I wish it just changed on the fly.

Cheers for watching and sharing your experiences also.
Agreed it could be better in a few areas.
