One dropped valve and new valve guide fitted. The owner was having trouble lapping the replacement valve in. Let's see what we can do for him to try to save this head..
I love seeing this old school work. I used to have a valve grinder, possibly just like that one. Mine was an old Sioux unit. I must have ground a quadrazilliion valves on that thing. Operating one is very therapeutic, and satisfying. I also had a Black and Decker valve seat grinder, and did tons of angle and radiused valve jobs on that setup. I sold all that equipment about 40 years ago to a young guy who wanted to learn. Now, at 74 and working on old Triumphs and Nortons, I wish I had those things back.
