- This is another Rooftop Hybrid solar system installed in Bangalore .
The hybrid solar system is the most versatile and robust system currently available in the market.
A hybrid system is capable of taking input from different sources of power like Solar, Grid, Battery, DG and even wind power.
It can prioritize the source as well as the loads and deliver quality power to the loads.

Great video, really cleared a lot of my doubts. Now i have only one question: what will happen in the case where my load is 5kw but my inverter is only 3kw, will i get the extra 2kw through the inverter (like a pass through) or my inverter will trip and only limit me to 3kw, or the extra 2kw from grid will be independent from the inverter.

I wonder why are you using a charge controller separately. Usually hybrid inverters come with a charge controller inbuilt. Isn't that the case here?

I guess it will not be affordable to most of the people thats why they dont revel. once you go for enquiry they will try to convince you in longterm you will recover and all. I feel these should be transparent in terms of pricing
Solar plant can be installed at 35-40k per kw if PV panels are used in On grid system, Off grid price will increase due to requirement of battrey and Hybrid as seen needs to many equipments meaning cost will be more and hybrid inverters will cost alot. The above estimation is on genral requirements using standard equipments and will increase on the basis of more hi-tech panel you use and type of structure.
And return period is generally 4-5 year.
Which are the best brands of hybrid inverters and other components, used or can be used.

Dear Sunil, Great video and very nice presentation. I would like to clarify a small doubt. In case 5, you are saying that the power generated by the panels can directly power the load, without taking stored energy from the batteries? Is this tue? I was told by a solar installation company that in such situations, the solar is only charging the battery pack and the power given to the load will be from the battery only - no direct powering of the load by solar. In such case, what happens if we install only a smaller capacity battery - lets say LI-Ion with 48V, 200W system. Will it still work with the battery pack supplying 200W power when there is no grid and solar? Also the solar supplies the complete 1000W when there is no grid supply?

Hello, I had some questions about this hybrid system:
1. If battery is not fully charged, and solar generation is higher than the load, is the excess generation fed to the grid or fed to charge the battery?
2. At night when the solar generation is zero, does the system run the load from grid or from the battery? Is this choice configurable by the end user? For e.g. I would prefer to configure that run the load from battery till the battery falls to 50% capacity, then switch over the load to the grid. I am sure there must be other, more intelligent configurations than this one, depending on how reliable the grid is and the climatic conditions during that particular time of the year.
3. At night when the solar generation is zero, if the battery is not fully charged, is it charged from the grid, or do we wait for the next day to charge the battery from solar generation?

For this particular make and model of inverter ( Studer 4000), the loads can go upto 10 KW under grid connections and 4 KW under off grid conditions.

When the solar is zero. Battery have some energy. But house need more Power. Will it take from grid and battery or only battery or only grid.
Your installation is clean but using a CPVC pipe for reference meter installation is weird. Apart from that every thing is good and clean. May i know what would be the cost of a 3KW similar installation in bangalore.

Since they have 200Ah FLA batteries in series. The theoretical capacity is around 7.2 KWh. (200*48*0.75). Depending on the load the the duration of back up will vary.

The load will be fed by the grid. The battery for backup in case of grid failure.

what about case 9 when there is not solar at night but grid is present, will it take power from batteries first and discharge them all night? and when the batteries go out then siwitch to grid power before the sun rise? can we use batteries at night only when there is no grid?
You can program the priorities. You can choose to run from grid and swich to battery when the grid goes down or run on batteries for a certain discharge and then get back to grid .
Sir we are getting an Ac-in too low error always when battery gets discharged it is not charging from the grid

In my best of knowledge, No, but if you have influence, Yes. You can do part installation, Obtain Net meter and then connect battery later.
