Hi there, thanks for your comment and question. I am a friend of Fr. Patrick's who runs this channel. Fr. Patrick does not use social media as often anymore so he may not see this question for a while. I'll try to remember to ask him. 👍
When are you going to realise what this sick organisation has done to the people of Ireland.forget about vocations nobody has any interest in this tooth fairy in the sky
Thanks for your comment. Well firstly, if we look at what prayer is, it is fundamentally understood as the lifting of our minds and heart to God. And this includes adoration, thanksgiving, petitions, and repentance. So it is not merely a means of informing God of our needs, as He is already aware of them, but rather a way to acknowledge our dependence on Him and to engage in a relationship with Him. Secondly, we must also look at the role of free will. God has blessed humanity with the freedom to choose, and this includes the choice to seek Him through prayer. The act of praying is an acknowledgment of our need for God and a recognition of His sovereignty. So when it comes to vocations, of course God does not need us to remind him of the need for more priests. But He does ask us to depend on Him, and we do this through prayer.
Thank you father well said, personal encounter
Praying for priests should become part of our prayer life. Thank you, Fr. Cahill. By the way, are you related to the tenor Emmet Cahill?
