Definitely 6in gutters and also go with 3x4 downspouts. Stay the hell away from gutter guards! I’m a professional power washer and we clean gutters all the time. We charge double or even triple to clean gutters with gutter guards because they are usually jammed up with a mat of goo you never could imagine. If you get the large troughs and spouts most of your debris will go down the drain. Just clean or leaf blow out a few times a year
I have a exterior cleaning business as well and I totally agree with, I charge more for gutter cleaning with gutter guards, the guard get compacted with dirt, leaves, and pine straw.
#1 guards are fine and dandy but there’s not one guard out there that’s clean proof. I’ve had my gutter business for over 10 years and I’ve taken off more guards than put on. The guards will have to come off sooner or later and screwing them in makes it even more challenging. Take it from me, that’s best way to keep your gutters clean is get off your lazy A#$ and clean them once a year or even twice. And running your irrigation under ground is a very, very bad idea. Sooner or later the under ground pipes we clogg with stuff from your gutters. Then when water piles up. That’s it. Oh, and the only thing I would recommend for your gutters is spout covers to protect your down spouts
Gutter guards are great for trapping leaves and debris and allowing the water to wick back up under the shingles, making for rot and lotsa work for me. Go Gutter Guards!!!
So much hate for gutter covers. Ive been cleaning and installing gutter cover for over 20 years now in 2 states. These others are fakes and probably cant climb a ladder or walk a roof. Cover works i use Gutter RX. Most people as in clueless homeowners use shit cover and dont install it correctly. No gaps anywhere when i install it. If i gotta clean someone else's cover i charge $400 minimum and its always junk and not installed correctly. I almost never get call backs for my cover and in colorado we get very severe weather.
On your gutter guards .what if you put it under the roofing and then it slants to the front of the gutter giving you the slant needed for leaves to slide off the gutter guard .your gutter guards are flat .waiting for the wind to blow them off .
Gutter guards are a nightmare. They create traps for nesting, dirt and growth, are difficult to maintain and offer no real benefit. I clean our gutters once a year, takes 20 mins.
The can be a nightmare, it depends on the environment. My workshop is surrounded by trees and I ended up removing the guards because after ~5 years the tiny holes began clogging up. Scrubbing was a temporary fix. I finally removed them and found ~ 1 inch of decomposed wet organic material laying in the gutter bottom. Along with 1000's of mosquitoes. Better to just blow the leaves out 2X a year.
You act like there is only these options, you have options 5” up to 12” gutters. You know why it’s called K style? Because that’s what letter it is. They have A-L styles. K style is the most widely used I would say. Looks good on most homes. But for a more modern sleeker look I prefer box style (A) or fascia style (B and F)
So are there other options for 5" gutters, like do they come in different gauges? Can I get the 5" in steel versus aluminum? I have crows that on occasion peck tiny holes in the bottom of my gutters. Seriously. I don't know if they are after the mosquito larve or what. But I can't stop them. So I need to replace my 5" K style aluminum gutters with something more substantial w/o breaking the bank. Options?
Depends on the area how useful and common those are. In many areas of the country almost everyone will have a rainwater tank, but in others, most people wouldn’t even know what one is. Coming from Northern Virginia for example, I don’t know a single person who has one because the water is basically never in shortage, very cheap, and good quality.
A lot of people are not privy to saving superior rainwater. They just use tap water. People have forgotten and don’t want to be self sufficient anymore. Hopefully Covid taught people not to fully rely on the govt.
When people install gutters, they are trying to punt, and get rid of water in order to solve a problem they have. Collecting water to hoard is not only the last thing on their mind, but also would cost additional time & materials 😅
The wrong gutter guards make great birdhouses
Not if you have rain often

I hate dealing with Gutter Guards, Good Luck 🤞😮

Thanks for the pro tips✊🏽
6" K style all around. Our family business usually recommends this but we'll change on customer preference. Only one customer ever took half round
Why would a county not allow gutter drains?
If you don't service the gutter guards they just turned into weed gardens I do not personally recommend them

I prefer doing 6” 3x4
Can’t go wrong and they look great
Didn't know about 6" gutters . Thanks . 6" in the front of the house . Rain , is hardest from the north. Gotta make a call .
They also have 7 and 8 inch gutters. I think possibly all the way up to 12’ but I’ve never see. Larger than 10 in person.
6” K-style and always new versus painting them
Gutter guards are a nightmare. They create traps for nesting, dirt and growth, are difficult to maintain and offer no real benefit.

Gutter guards are 100% a scam
I've wondered. I feel like less rain can go into the gutter because the gutter guard takes up space.

7" seamless option in Ca
We have it here in illinois but they’re steal
6” bigger the better
Also 7" gutters. For if you have hip fascia and Spanish tile roofs or some metal roofs. Overkill in most situations
Also starting to get on the heavy side, harder to install and quicker to tilt and sag.

Can gutter guards prevent some water from going into the gutter?

No. One must break the bank.
Gutter guards i could care less about
Gutter is gutter cheese cloth dip sine wave?
In alot situations 6 inch are too big to get proper flow on homes and cost more.
I jsut got qouted 1900 for a single family home ouch lol..
My house isnt that big
Thank you
Bro got a guards r a scam 😂😂😂 they make shit worst guess u a rookie in this industry
6" only
Gutter guards are a rip off I try to tell people to stay the fck away from them.
Should use a PVC pipe for a good 15’ feet for burying your down spouts
12 inch gutters seems like a better option
Everything in this video was wrong. Buddy wants to make cash tho. That's for sure
Why wouldn’t you just install a rainwater tank instead of losing all that water?
