This may seem weird
But playing this game at night, lights turned off, with the window slightly open and the scent of the nightly air, with this music playing as you make it to the typewriter, is just such a vibe
funny, to me this game is a vibe on a gloomy white sky afternoon with the fresh air, especially in the first two chapters

Honestly when it comes to RE4 in General for me nothing tops Serenity. Both versions of Serenity is SO Good.

I absolutely love how you’re able to hear some of the original in this soundtrack. It’s like the game’s telling you that the soul of OG RE4 is still very much present.
Right?? I love it.... And the OG version's soundtrack on vinyl was reissued in 2022, which is amazing. :)

1:26 they really paid attention to that part... i love the way the bass works in the classic track! and they did a good work keeping the little things that resembles the past of the game.
and the mix between the save theme and serenity with a piece of re3 + re2 remake... that's insanely good.

This is like a combination of "Serenity" from the original RE4, Rev 2's result screen, and a hint of 7's save room theme. Three of my top favorite saferoom themes from my top three favorite Resident Evil games in one. Absolutely beautiful.

Yeah it's sounds so much like Rev2 result screen. It even has that dirty, dark feeling to it. And now that you mention I can definitely hear a little bit of RE7 too. They really pulled a 11/10 save theme out of their a$$es for their most beloved game in the franchise. We done.

This song has a perfect combination of peacefulness and dread. Peace because you are safe for the moment, but a sense of dread and despair for whats to come.

I'm 30 years old and was 12 years old when the original RE4 came out. Still amazing after 18 years ago it wasn't long ago to play the original RE4, the time when social media was rising and YT was just getting started.
Yup 29 here, I remember being so excited to come home and play it after school 😢
the first time i played the game back in march 2023, i immediately fell in love with this theme. it's just so good.
Serenity is still better. But I will say this is GOOD and it fits the vibe of this version of the game way more. You can also still hear hints of serenity/the original save theme. This version sounds more, mysterious, a bit more sad, a bit more hopeless. You can almost feel how Leon is feeling through this song. Can not WAIT to play it tonight. Already have it downloading.
yeah you put it perfectly i like to imagine leon taking a min to rest and using the typewriter to make a log of whats happend so far everytime i go to the typewriter room like it has this feeling of safety but its only temporary so we cant stay too long...
Serenity worked in the old game, this one works in this game better.
I liked that they tweaked it just slightly for the remake but still respected the original Serenity. When I heard this, it was like coming home after being away for years.
I hated this at first, but now that I've finished the game, I get it. It's so dreamy, like a memory of the original Resident Evil 4. Kinda bittersweet.
The fact that they changed the music was really great. I prefer this changed version for this remake because it gives a sense of nostalgia, exactly because it’s not the same as the original RE4, but similar enough to make you think of the old game. Not just this one, but others too, like "Serenity."
They somehow managed to make this theme sound even more melancholic than the original, and that's saying something
Can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the original. Watching my uncle play this game as a 5 year old child to now being 23 and playing the remake as if I’m experiencing it for the first time again.

Guess a lot of us have the same upbringing. Grew up watching my brother play this game when I was 4😭. He never beat the game so it’s awesome going beyond where I left off because it’s all new after that
man this literally made me cry, it sounds so familiar to the original, it made me feel so nostalgic remembering the good times I had when I was little when times were simple, playing on my gamecube with my cousin and dad for hours on end without a worry in the world, this game is a something I will never let go of, and I love it to death, great job Capcom!❤
People need to pay attention that Serenity and the Save Theme are separate. Serenity plays usually in areas where the save writer and merchant are present, whilst the save screen plays whenever you bring the save menu. It seems what they did here is mix them both, you can hear piano notes of the original save theme and a background synth like serenity. This version perfectly fits the remake vibe.
I love that they still incorporated the original into the new one and the final product sounds so amazing.
I feel this remake respects old player, I played original for over 50 times and this remake music hits me hard.
I played the OG so many times but the music is still good. When I booted up the remake on launch day, and I got to the typewriter, I no joke sat there for a solid 5 minutes wiping tears from my eyes listening to this rendition of Serenity. It’s not better than OG but, it fits for this version of RE4 and it felt like a new beginning.

The only thing that kept me going lately was RE4 Remake. Since the announcement trailer all the way to release, all I’ve ever wanted in life was to stay alive long enough to experience my favorite game of all time… in a completely different version. Thank you Capcom for not fucking this.
Honestly, both are incredibly perfect in their own way. Both do a great job of setting the tone for the game they are in.

I love the original RE4 save theme and was hoping they bring it back for this game but what I got was another masterpiece that fits the tone of the game that is indeed one of the best remakes of all time that stayed true to the original

It seems to be a mix of re2 remake save theme and re4 save theme to me. I think it's fitting because of how this remake seems to be connecting the game much more to re2
considering how remake 2 won over so many millenials hearts,it really does resemble on Remake 2,even Leon looks the same despite being 26 in this game.

Never really gave RE a chance until I played RE2 Remake and fell in love with, currently on a binge and playing RE4, I feel out of all characters Leon has the most intense story line here if you really think about it

What I love about some of the music in this game like this, the merchant theme, and results screen is that there is both these drone-y masculine and feminine hints to signify/project Leon and Ashley throughout their epic adventure. It really brings out their charm and bravery. The way I see it Leon gets the guitars/dark undertones while Ashley kind of has the jazz/techno feel with light tones. It kinda feels like you're in some true crime show/setting but with horror. It sounds very governmental if that makes sense?

I remember when I was 5 years old watching my older brother playing this game and this theme came up, truly peace in my ears.
Same I also played this game at that age on my ps2
They did an amazing job. They manage to bring us back that same feel from 05. This game is sort of like a time machine. Idk how they pulled it off but they did 👏🏼

It sounds so sad but at the same time bittersweet trying to keep it together 😢
Loving the calming yet uneasy and unfamiliar feeling this version gives off, especially around the violin parts. Nightmare ain't over yet, but you have a moment to recoup yourself. OG is iconic but this one really cemented itself well for this version as well.

1:28 I seriously can't get enough of those violin parts, kinda gives you a hopeful feeling
in all honesty this might be the best save room theme in the whole series. its got the perfect harmonies, the best vibe, calming yet brooding. I would have given it to RE2R but it only plays when you discover the first save room and NEVER AGAIN. really love how natural this theme sounds and how real the instruments are, though i do miss the emphasis on the double bass

Out of the 21 hours it took me to complete my first playthrough of Resident Evil 4 probably 1 hour consisted just of me chilling in the safe room and listening to the music to calm down.

I first played the OG RE 4 in 2020, 2 Months before the Pandemic started. Man i felt in love so fast with RE 4 and i decided that it is the best Game out of the trilogy. Me now finishing and 100%ing it on the Remake feels like a Homage, the Remake was worth every Cent and i thank Capcom for everything. They listened to All of us and to me the Remake is even better and scarier. Thank you Capcom!
As a hard-core OG RE4 player who played it throughout his childhood and beat it over a hundred times in my life... I love this version, too. Matter of fact, I was and am very pleasantly surprised with all the music in the remake. They clearly did not skimp out in the music department and I appreciate Capcom for it. ❤

Love it! Especially the part around 3:58 makes me feel like a soft sense of urgency or sadness in a way.

It's cool that they merged the original RE 4 music with the music from the RE 2 remake, so many clever touches in this game.
At first I didn’t like it. But this theme is growing on me. It’s growing on me like the T-Virus.

Heres the thing with resident evil 4(OG), its currently one of the greatest video games of all time. I believe its just under minecraft. That means that giving it a remake is a bold move in every sense. Most remakes of games and movies fail from the get go for a number of reasons. Poor casting choices, cut content, atmospheric changes, plot or story changes, etc. Plenty of different factors ultimately dictate whether a remake will be a hit or miss. In this case, Capcom nailed it. They NAILED it. So far, ive made it to the castle sequence. Just before the water room. Theres nothing bad i can say about it. If anything, its better than the OG in some areas. Its darker and scarier than the OG (which i love). So far, what i love most about the remake is the "freedom" the devs gave us with more levels to areas and the side missions for the merchant. Theres just more to explore now. It kinda feels like an open world exploration in some areas. I just have so much good things to say about the remake that would be just too much to type. So ill leave with this: Great job capcom. Outstanding job. My grandmother loved resident evil. She would buy all the classic guide magazines for the first few games on ps1. My older brother and sister would watch her play them, then they would play them and i would watch them, now i play them while they watch. My grandmother passed away on January 14th 2021 from stage 4 breast cancer. She wouldve loved this remake. Resident evil has been a part of all our childhoods growing up. The OG RE4 still has and will always have a special place in our hearts.

I 100%'d the original the night before the remake came out, since I would've only been 2 years old when it originally released. Of course I don't have the right to really say I'm nostalgic about the original save theme, but as soon as I heard this for the first time, I just sat and listened and felt a wave of happiness come over me :)

I love that this new save theme has slight hints of other titles as well aside from just the original. For example, you can lightly hear RE7 sounds after the main OG riff plays, which I think is a nice edition.

Capcom's save room themes are consistently excellent. Really...
This remake is quickly becoming one of my favorite RE games in the whole series, once we get Separate Ways and Mercenaries with all the characters, this might just take number one spot.
I'm a huge fan of OG RE4 and this tops it in almost every way, anyone who denies it seriously needs to take off the nostalgia glasses.
The remake is overall ten times better. Anyone who thinks otherwise, please get rid of the nostalgia goggles.
