This is the first letter I can remember writing... Obviously I don't know if I've wrote any before the maze but, even if its not my first its likely to be my last... I want you to know that I'm not scared, Well not of dying anyways... Its more forgetting... Its losing myself to this virus that's what scares me... So every night I say their names out loud, Alby, Winston, Chuck... And I just repeat them over and over like a prayer, and it all comes flooding back... Just the little things like when the sun used to hit the glade at that perfect moment right before it slipped beneath the wall..s. And I remember the taste of Frypans stew... I never thought Id miss those stuff so much... And I remember you... I remember the first time you came up in that box just a scared little greenie who couldn't even remember his own name... But from that moment you ran into the maze I knew Id follow you anywhere... And I have... We all have... If I could do it all over again I would and I wouldn't change a thing... My hope for you is when your looking back years from now you'd be able to say the same... The futures in your hands now Tommy, and I know you'll find a way to do what's right... You always have... "Did you break, but never mend? Did you hurt so much you thought it was the end?" That part gets me every time. Newt tried to kill himself. That's how much emotional pain he was in. He tried to end it, but didn't. But he had many broken things.

This song fucking breaks my heart in million pieces every time I hear it bc I'm thinking of Newt's death, and that all he really wanted was to die, because all he could remember was the Glade and never feeling happy. He tried to killed himself and failed, but now he's really gone. I try to convince myself that he's fine now, from where he is, he finally has what he truly wanted since the beginning. I imagine him in heaven, talking with Alby. They're probably spending their time to remember all of the little great things of the Glade, and telling him, Winston, Ben and Chuck all of what they did after their deaths (escaping the maze or surviving the scorch trials for example,) and the truth about WICKED and why/how they got trapped in that bloody glade. I also imagine him telling to Chuck that he's still bloody annoying, even dead.

Newt...a friend we all wish we could have in this crazy world. He's kind, he's loyal, he's present, he's the glue.. The fact that he died- just kills me inside. The fact that he was in so much emotional pain that he jumped off that wall in the maze, The fact that in the end.. he didn't die from the flare. He died because he killed himself with that knife. When he whispered "Please Tommy..please." I about lost it. He didn't deserve to die.
Yeah, but I adore him for refusing to become a monster. He exited on his own terms. Newt was always an outlier -- his depression, his lack of immunity, his unwavering loyalty, and his courage to do what needed to be done even if it meant he wouldn't be there to protect them any longer. He's an amazing hero and his character was portrayed perfectly.
I found someone at school who has a crush on Dylan O'brien and I told her I love TBS and we are now good friends😂

I used to walk around, like a normal human being. I saw people, places. I traveled sometimes.
Its been a few weeks after I saw The Death Cure(yea I'm late I know) for the first time, and I can't go to many public places anymore. That movie tore me apart. I see his face in people I've never seen before, making me look twice. I see his name places, like for example I mistake "new" or "next" for his name. It hurts. It feels like someone is reaching into my chest and squeezing my heart, just enough so that I don't die, but I'm in excruciating pain. I wish I could just go back in time so that I could forget what happened. I wish I could get thrown into a box and put into a maze, not remembering anything.
But I do remember. We all remember. We remember what happened to him. And we have no choice but to remember. You can try to forget, but one tiny thing can send all the memories flooding back in. Don't try to forget him. Own it. Yes, he died. Yes, we cried about it (possibly for days). Don't shut out the memories, because when you do remember, it will just hurt worse.
We love you Newt. We will never forget you. 🌹❤

wow. this brings me back to my god awful maze runner phase. it meant so mich to me. Newt meant a lot to me. I remember crying so much my head hurted. the pain i feel for fictional characters i grow to love so mich is unbelievable. i don’t think my first heartbreak will ever hurt as much when the time i watched death cure. watching newt die in thomas arms.

my baby, I can’t believe he is gone. I acquired so many feeling for everyone of them throughout this entire series. And to realize that I won’t see any of them together is making me so emotional. This will forever be my favorite series and will always love them. And newt you deserved so much better. But watching the end made me happy and sad. He left happy and hopeful that his loved ones will continue to live their lives. Much love to the cast and the series. IN MY HEART THIS SERIES WILL LIVE. 💗😭
ONLY TRUE FANS READ THIS...Okay, people may not believe me but I know the real fans will, I cried for about 1 hour and 30 minutes at Newts death although I have nearly been crying for 3 weeks now, I had read the book and knew it was coming but when I watched the film it became real... and we'll let's just say I cried that much I collapsed on the floor and had a panic attack... the real fans will understand my pain and know that Newt shouldn't have died, don't get me wrong I know he wanted to and he didn't want to be a Crank but I mean come on what sort of book and film kill off the BEST CHARACTER EVER CREATED! Newt deserved so much better... he deserved to enjoy the relaxation and calmness of the safe heaven... he deserved to sit around a bonfire knowing how far he had come.... he deserved to laugh along with Minho, Thomas, Gally and Frypan... he deserved TO LIVE.... but he's dead my Newtie is dead and I will Never Ever Ever love a character the way I love Newt it just won't happen, Newt had came so far and hadn't even been able to mourn properly over his friends deaths he just kept it inside for the others, Newt always kept strong and always helped out he was named 'The Glue' for a reason I guess... He was Subject A5 and I hate calling him that as he said it himself , he's not a subject! I’m just sitting here crying. 😭😭 I can’t put in words how utterly crushed I was over Newt’s death. He was the most undeserving of death character I’ve ever seen. Which meant he was going to die because that’s just life works. I had the biggest movie breakdown of my life watching TDC. I couldn’t breathe, I was hysterically sobbing, screaming, I was shaking....Then I was in depression for the next week. Newt’s my favorite character not just from Maze Runner but EVER. I love him. And I wished he had gotten a better life. He deserved so much more. 💔💔💔😭😭😭♥️♥️♥️

Newt deserved so much and got nothing in return. He always loved and protected his friends. He spent all his time trying to help everyone else and nobody ever helped him. 😭💔 All he went through and all he got was death. But even dying he was still trying to help his friends.
