Okay but about the straight character thing: Technically, if a character's sexuality has not been explicitly confirmed and you can headcanon them as whatever you want. And The Straights™ tend to think that straight is the default, so therefore if a character is intended to be straight, there will be no explicit confirmation other than them having love interests of the opposite gender, in which case they could still be queer as long as they are not actively confirmed to be straight.
Thank you. Even with characters that have been with people of the opposite sex they can still be bi or pans or another sexuality that isn't just gay or straight.

My mom told me a story of how when I was in kindergarten (so around 4 years old and now I'm 21, so that was a long time ago lol) some moms in the park were having a hissy fit and sounded genuinely concerned about their kids watching the Teletubbies. You may ask why? Well, Tinky Winky was PURPLE and a BOY that wore *drumroll* a PURSE. Like, they asked my mom on how are they gonna let the kids watch the "wrong gendered boy alien" and that that's gonna "confuse" the kids. And the 4 year old me was just...I don't give a damn? It's an alien. That lives in a magic house with a robot vacuum and eats pink goo for breakfast. The last thing I care about or even pay attention to is his gender. I always thought his purse was cool or cute how he danced around with it. He was a purple alien with a male sounding voice and a purse. AND? Nothing big brained or concerning in the slightest. For a literal 4 year old. Sorry, had to get it off my chest xD

I just knew it was purple, which was pretty much the only "cool" colour in the show, looked like everyone else, was less terrifying than Dipsy, was the tallest, was less hyperactive than Po, was less annoying than Lala, had a much more creative and memorable name that the rest, was more interesting than both Lala and Po I always mixed those two up, had the most recogniseable antennae-thingy like the only fun looking shape, had a handbag similar to mine but mine was yellow, wore a skirt once, was the one toy plush tellietubbie that I didn't cover with dirt and still have intact to this day and that it just was my over all favourite character in the show.

As a demisexual, dating someone who is okay with waiting is really important for me to make it work. It's totally fine, if people are quicker with that but I can't date someone who wants to do it early.
I'm not demisexual myself, but I'd never sleep with someone on the first date... It's just not that easy to earn my trust and I'm not going to let someone I barely know touch me... How can I be sure I won't catch something while making out with someone I barely know? If a guy wants to get into bed with me, he'll have to be patient enough for me to trust him...
@Leeroy Daanknz I’m not Demi sexual but I have a lot of emotional issues that make me want to wait until a very long term and committed relationship and slowly work up to sexual activities. It’s hard sometimes because it feels like there are only three types of people in this world (those who will tell you your worthless for having sex and that you should wait to save yourself- which just makes me terrified to have sex for fear of losing my “worth” as a person or my partner losing interest in me after we sleep together for a while. And those who yell at me, tell me I’ll never find a partner, tell me I’m crazy, people who just don’t understand and refuse to try, or tell me to just do it even though I said I don’t feel emotionally comfortable. And the third type just insists I must be some kind of asexual even though I know I’m not and I just have emotional issues that make me worried about sex: issues like fear of loss of worth or being treated differently/ viewed differently, fear of abandonment, fear of self expression, self disgust/ embarrassment, etc. My sexual attraction isn’t what is causing the problem. I feel attraction very strongly both emotionally and sexually.)

I do not understand why there are so many non-religious homophobes online. At least with religious ones, you can understand why they are that way to a degree (since they don't want to engage in what they see as sin for fear of damnation) but the non-religious ones are so confusing. I used to go to an all girls school and the way everyone teied to dance around the word was ridiculous... I'm a trans guy, so yeah, I have a period. So what? And why is it so hard to ask for tampons, if the entire room is filled with people who most likely either need them or needed them at one point in their lives? It's a completely normal body function.
This is only tangentially related but anyway On Instagram I saw this really sweet post about a person who's period started and their partner was really sweet, yet all the comments were more focused on complaining that they said "period-havers" instead of women I sure do love straight people 😀
@@Pugzie2000 So... my mom kept saying women, and she's usually really casually transphobic (used the T-slur because she didn't know it was a slur and stuff like that... she doesn't really mean anything by it, she's just old and stuck in her ways), and I told her not all women have periods and some people of tóther genders have them to, so it would be nice if more people said "people who menstruate" instead. She actually did it a few times, and I was a little bit proud of her, until she started misgendering me again.
I don't want my future husband to "help me out". I want him to do things on his own, without me having to ask him to do them. It's not my role to think for the whole household. If he needs to learn, we can put a task chart on the fridge, but otherwise, we're gonna live in separate appartments, I swear!

I very recently ended an extremely toxic relationship in which I felt like I HAD TO stay so he could change. I felt guilty for wanting to leave. He was a toxic person and manipulative, but I felt like an awful person for wanting to dump him. It literally felt like it wasnt an option, I simply couldnt do it and I was meant to stay with him forever (he was even making plans to get married with me). It got to a point where I actually wished he would physically abuse me so I could have an "excuse" to leave him, so it would be justifyied. It's an awful experience NO ONE should go through and please remember: you don't have to stay in a relationship you aren't happy in!!! Never!!! Take care of yourselves please!!

Lmao once I drew a male with long hair and a halloween costume that is very close to their body (sorry I forgot the word) so you could definitely tell they have a masculine chest, no boobs, larger shoulders and torso than I do with females. He has quite a cute face but still more traditionally masculine. There was this one guy that said something like "that’s nice, I like her style", so I was confused and said "she? They’re not a woman" (I would use female because I don’t like to use genders but that’s how he understands it) and his reply was so weird. He just said "ah", like he found that strange or was disappointed. I also had some conversations with him about identity and such and it didn’t go that well so the answer definitely felt a bit disappointing I wish I could show the pic bc clearly the only "girly" thing is the hair length and very discreet heels…

The last post really hit home for me. I was also in an abusive relationship, and I stayed because of posts like that. I kept on hearing that marriages were better before and lasted because people worked on their problems, no matter what. Afterwards I kept on hearing "If it was that bad, why did you stay?". I got out relatively quickly (11 months), but I wanted to leave after the very first date. I felt like I owed him a second chance, and that I would be a bad person if I didn't give him one. After I was low-key forced to have sex with him on our second "date" I felt like I definitely couldn't leave, lest I be called a sl*t. Of course there were times when I thought I wanted to stay, especially when he love-bombed me, and my gay ass thought that it was meant to feel like that. I never understood how uncomfortable I was. I thought that that feeling was attraction, because I only felt it when men gave me attention.

I have recently been looking for cartoons with queer representation and The owl house and Craig of the creek have been very open with it The owl house features a openly bi main character, with a lesbian, more bis, a non binary character, etc. Craig has shown multiple characters (mainly children) who are not straight and not cis. We have multiple lesbian couples that have even kissed, multiple non binary characters and even had a character say "they use they/them pronouns" super cute. Just look up clips. It makes my heart swell up with joy. It makes me really happy to see representation in media for younger audiences. Lowkey salty I didn't get any of that for my childhood

I have a question... am I the only one that doesn't like calling it same sex marriage and relationships? I'm a gay trans guys, so if I'm in a relationship with a cis guy it technically isn't a same sex relationship, as my sex is still female, but I'm still gay and it would still be a gay relationship. This also goes the other way around. If a trans woman is with a cis guy, it's a straight relationship, but technically it would still be a same sex realtionship. You get what I mean? I really don't like the term, because it feels like it's casual transphobia... it's barely noticeable, but when you do notice it, it seems like a huge oversight... Edit: to clear up a few thing... I think it might be more inclusive if we called it same gender relationships instead... And the reason why I personally don't like it is that, I've both been told that I am included and that I'm not included when people talk about same sex raltionships, because I'm very much gay, but transphobes like to just look at gentials and chromosomes, and if you're gay and trans you're clearly just a cishet looking for attention... according to a surprising amount of people I had to deal with. This is what made me think about it to begin with, and then i thought "maybe heterosexual trans people also don't like it being called same _sex_ relationships...", so I wanted to know what other people thought.
The matter concerns the truncation of "sex" as a word in each front. Colloquially, it's analogous to gender. This is further supported with cultures that possess explicit non-binary gender identities. Especially since not even 1% of the world population will ever see my genitals, so they can't base their conclusion about my sex on my genitals. Legally, it's a checkbox on identification papers. It's happened a few times that a person with a dick was legally assigned female at birth/AFAB by a doctor because the wrong box was filled in on the medical paperwork. I even recall a Reddit story where a similar "typo" led to one person's AMAB cis grandfather being Assigned Female At Death. Also, what happens when a legal document has a "Non-binary" sex classification? Does is immediately make the relationship gay or straight if one partner has the M or F on their legal identity changed to an X? Biologically, there are so many genetic components that a person could have male gonads and female genitalia and both male and female neurological pathways and neither male nor female levels of hormone balance. More people have such conditions than are genetically/biologically red-heads. If we had a distinct "sex" category for every possible combination of dimorphic representation on the "biological" level, we could easily get more boxes to put people in than there are people on the planet. And all these boxes would be filled. ----- And note at all that technical knowledge required for the "biological" classification, even if we simplified it somehow to only a handful of possibilities, is literally personal private Health Information. Given all of this, the most respectful thing is to do the above colloquial conflation of "sex" with "gender" unless you're speaking from a specific context such as you being their doctor...in which case you'll then have respectful ways to not misgender them (such as specifying the states of their dimorphic characteristics).

I really, really appreciate you adding that plenty of disabled people can’t cook for legit reasons. I can sometimes cook, but lately it’s not super common due to how bad my executive dysfunction has been lately. I know how, but many days it’s legit not an option despite me not having to work every day, and I know there are people out there who can’t, and it does hurt when people act as though literally everyone should be able to do something that I can’t do, so again, thank you so much.
And the origin of the double standard between men and women with sex is, to my knowledge, a xenophobic law in Classical Athens that said that someone could only become a citizen if both parents were Athenian citizens, and since they didn’t have a way to identify the father, it was strongly forbidden (on pain of death) for a woman to have an affair or premarital sex since it would call into question any children she had. Men would be punished for sleeping with another mans wife (since that would call into question her husband’s lineage), but a man could sleep with anyone who wasn’t a citizen because any kids they had wouldn’t have the right of citizenship no matter what. So it is originally from a judgement of who has and deserves rights, that really spiraled from there. The Ancient Egyptians had plenty of their own issues, but they were overall much more egalitarian, gender wise (not compared to the values of the people watching videos like this, since there was still a general preference for male rulers, but compared to Athens and Greece as a whole).
I think a lot of the reason most people can't cook these days is because learning how to feed yourself does not gain wealth and gaining wealth is all we are taught matters under capitalism.

Okay but about the straight character thing: Technically, if a character's sexuality has not been explicitly confirmed and you can headcanon them as whatever you want. And The Straights™ tend to think that straight is the default, so therefore if a character is intended to be straight, there will be no explicit confirmation other than them having love interests of the opposite gender, in which case they could still be queer as long as they are not actively confirmed to be straight.

@Leeroy Daanknz I’m not Demi sexual but I have a lot of emotional issues that make me want to wait until a very long term and committed relationship and slowly work up to sexual activities. It’s hard sometimes because it feels like there are only three types of people in this world (those who will tell you your worthless for having sex and that you should wait to save yourself- which just makes me terrified to have sex for fear of losing my “worth” as a person or my partner losing interest in me after we sleep together for a while. And those who yell at me, tell me I’ll never find a partner, tell me I’m crazy, people who just don’t understand and refuse to try, or tell me to just do it even though I said I don’t feel emotionally comfortable. And the third type just insists I must be some kind of asexual even though I know I’m not and I just have emotional issues that make me worried about sex: issues like fear of loss of worth or being treated differently/ viewed differently, fear of abandonment, fear of self expression, self disgust/ embarrassment, etc. My sexual attraction isn’t what is causing the problem. I feel attraction very strongly both emotionally and sexually.)

I do not understand why there are so many non-religious homophobes online. At least with religious ones, you can understand why they are that way to a degree (since they don't want to engage in what they see as sin for fear of damnation) but the non-religious ones are so confusing. Like, if you are non-religious and want to live in a secular society, why would you care about a person's sexuality (obviously this does not include pedophiles and zoophiles since they abuse animals and children)? If you want to be able to live the way you want to live, you have respect others and understand they have the same rights as you. I'm tired of hearing "it's not biologically correct" or "it's gross" as excuses. I don't care if you think it's weird because it's none of your business.

Clownfish do it to . There's so many animals that do it too . Sure we need surgeries to help us transition fully if we wish to but that doesn't mean "it's not natural" to be trans.

I very recently ended an extremely toxic relationship in which I felt like I HAD TO stay so he could change. I felt guilty for wanting to leave. He was a toxic person and manipulative, but I felt like an awful person for wanting to dump him. It literally felt like it wasnt an option, I simply couldnt do it and I was meant to stay with him forever (he was even making plans to get married with me). It got to a point where I actually wished he would physically abuse me so I could have an "excuse" to leave him, so it would be justifyied. It's an awful experience NO ONE should go through and please remember: you don't have to stay in a relationship you aren't happy in!!! Never!!! Take care of yourselves please!!

Lmao once I drew a male with long hair and a halloween costume that is very close to their body (sorry I forgot the word) so you could definitely tell they have a masculine chest, no boobs, larger shoulders and torso than I do with females. He has quite a cute face but still more traditionally masculine.
There was this one guy that said something like "that’s nice, I like her style", so I was confused and said "she? They’re not a woman" (I would use female because I don’t like to use genders but that’s how he understands it) and his reply was so weird. He just said "ah", like he found that strange or was disappointed. I also had some conversations with him about identity and such and it didn’t go that well so the answer definitely felt a bit disappointing

The last post really hit home for me. I was also in an abusive relationship, and I stayed because of posts like that. I kept on hearing that marriages were better before and lasted because people worked on their problems, no matter what. Afterwards I kept on hearing "If it was that bad, why did you stay?". I got out relatively quickly (11 months), but I wanted to leave after the very first date. I felt like I owed him a second chance, and that I would be a bad person if I didn't give him one. After I was low-key forced to have sex with him on our second "date" I felt like I definitely couldn't leave, lest I be called a sl*t. Of course there were times when I thought I wanted to stay, especially when he love-bombed me, and my gay ass thought that it was meant to feel like that. I never understood how uncomfortable I was. I thought that that feeling was attraction, because I only felt it when men gave me attention.

I have recently been looking for cartoons with queer representation and The owl house and Craig of the creek have been very open with it
The owl house features a openly bi main character, with a lesbian, more bis, a non binary character, etc.
Craig has shown multiple characters (mainly children) who are not straight and not cis. We have multiple lesbian couples that have even kissed, multiple non binary characters and even had a character say "they use they/them pronouns" super cute.
Just look up clips.

I have a question... am I the only one that doesn't like calling it same sex marriage and relationships?
I'm a gay trans guys, so if I'm in a relationship with a cis guy it technically isn't a same sex relationship, as my sex is still female, but I'm still gay and it would still be a gay relationship.
This also goes the other way around. If a trans woman is with a cis guy, it's a straight relationship, but technically it would still be a same sex realtionship.
You get what I mean? I really don't like the term, because it feels like it's casual transphobia... it's barely noticeable, but when you do notice it, it seems like a huge oversight...

I think it might be more inclusive if we called it same gender relationships instead...
And the reason why I personally don't like it is that, I've both been told that I am included and that I'm not included when people talk about same sex raltionships, because I'm very much gay, but transphobes like to just look at gentials and chromosomes, and if you're gay and trans you're clearly just a cishet looking for attention... according to a surprising amount of people I had to deal with.
This is what made me think about it to begin with, and then i thought "maybe heterosexual trans people also don't like it being called same _sex_ relationships...", so I wanted to know what other people thought.
The matter concerns the truncation of "sex" as a word in each front.
Colloquially, it's analogous to gender. This is further supported with cultures that possess explicit non-binary gender identities. Especially since not even 1% of the world population will ever see my genitals, so they can't base their conclusion about my sex on my genitals.
Legally, it's a checkbox on identification papers. It's happened a few times that a person with a dick was legally assigned female at birth/AFAB by a doctor because the wrong box was filled in on the medical paperwork. I even recall a Reddit story where a similar "typo" led to one person's AMAB cis grandfather being Assigned Female At Death.
Also, what happens when a legal document has a "Non-binary" sex classification? Does is immediately make the relationship gay or straight if one partner has the M or F on their legal identity changed to an X?
Biologically, there are so many genetic components that a person could have male gonads and female genitalia and both male and female neurological pathways and neither male nor female levels of hormone balance. More people have such conditions than are genetically/biologically red-heads.
If we had a distinct "sex" category for every possible combination of dimorphic representation on the "biological" level, we could easily get more boxes to put people in than there are people on the planet. And all these boxes would be filled.

And note at all that technical knowledge required for the "biological" classification, even if we simplified it somehow to only a handful of possibilities, is literally personal private Health Information. Given all of this, the most respectful thing is to do the above colloquial conflation of "sex" with "gender" unless you're speaking from a specific context such as you being their doctor...in which case you'll then have respectful ways to not misgender them (such as specifying the states of their dimorphic characteristics).

I really, really appreciate you adding that plenty of disabled people can’t cook for legit reasons. I can sometimes cook, but lately it’s not super common due to how bad my executive dysfunction has been lately. I know how, but many days it’s legit not an option despite me not having to work every day, and I know there are people out there who can’t, and it does hurt when people act as though literally everyone should be able to do something that I can’t do, so again, thank you so much.
And the origin of the double standard between men and women with sex is, to my knowledge, a xenophobic law in Classical Athens that said that someone could only become a citizen if both parents were Athenian citizens, and since they didn’t have a way to identify the father, it was strongly forbidden (on pain of death) for a woman to have an affair or premarital sex since it would call into question any children she had. Men would be punished for sleeping with another mans wife (since that would call into question her husband’s lineage), but a man could sleep with anyone who wasn’t a citizen because any kids they had wouldn’t have the right of citizenship no matter what. So it is originally from a judgement of who has and deserves rights, that really spiraled from there. The Ancient Egyptians had plenty of their own issues, but they were overall much more egalitarian, gender wise (not compared to the values of the people watching videos like this, since there was still a general preference for male rulers, but compared to Athens and Greece as a whole).
I think a lot of the reason most people can't cook these days is because learning how to feed yourself does not gain wealth and gaining wealth is all we are taught matters under capitalism.

I'd recommend starting with Yuri On Ice, Ouran High School Host Club, Yarichin Bitch Club (although i do warn you, it is very nsfw and very problematic), and i dont really know any girlxgirl anime that can be watched in a day, as I havent watched any, but possibly Citrus (I dont know the run time, but heard it's girlxgirl).
