idk how you can watch this band and not instantly fall in love.
I love how they don't follow the norm of how most heavy metal women look. They embrace their femininity, and then proceed to melt your face off! A fun video to watch would be Stand and Deliver, the official music video, it shows them in a more relaxed demeanor. It will also introduce you to the new bassist Fami.

LOVEBITES is a five-piece all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. The entire Japanese metal/rock scene is the best in the world currently. I've been listening to metal for decades and Lovebites is the most talented musicians I've seen/heard collectively. Their 2 guitarists are among the best duos ever. All members are elite musicians. Heading to Europe this summer & Atlanta in the fall to see them. Keep going down the Japanese rabbit hole. An incredible amount of awesome talent to see. The all-female bands are leading the charge.

@@XplorationXpedition Really liked your reaction! If you do Swan Song beware that you do the one with Chopin Intro in the title. That's the one with all the piano goods in it. Their live shows are best but they have some really good MV too, just look for Glory to the world, Judgement day, Rising or When Destines Align, thye're topvideos with superb guitarsolo's.
Lovebites has over 40 original songs and each one is unique in its own way. Asami's vocals can range from soulful, blsy, operatic, power metal; she really has no limit. The rest of the band are also world class musicians, highlighted by the dark haired guitarist Miyako, who has been classically trained on piano since age 3. You can go through their entire catalogue and be pleasantly surprised with each new discovery. I really encourage you to get through as many Lovebites songs as you can, you won't be disappointed. A major plus is Lovebites has a huge YT following that love educating new reactors on the band.
To date, LOVEBITES officially has = 55 original songs + 3 original musical compositions = 58 original tracks.
Hello friend, greetings from a veteran Spanish metalhead, totally surrendered to the talent of these women, who are revitalizing an aging and repetitive genre.
They are a breath of positivity and joy, combined with beauty and elegance. Asami is the best vocalist I've seen in a long time, plus she's gorgeous.

I'm fed up with these groups that make aggressive, negative, antisocial music... that don't provide any positive value. There comes a time in life when you want to listen to heavy music with a smile on your face, listening to high-quality, fluid, clean, energetic and positive music, surrounded by elegance and beauty.
I no longer want to look at the face of the Metallica or Iron Maiden singer, having my Asami....the same I say with the rest of the members, always smiling, always positive.
It gives you strength to carry the day forward.
Japan was shut down due to covid just days after this concert.

Congratulations! You just found the holy grail of Metal!
Them and band maid are 2 of the best bands out of Japan. There is no competition between them. They respect each others abilities immensely. Actually 3 members of Lovebites went to the Band Maid concert in Yokohama recently. That is the Venue where there song "Hate" was filmed at. The drummers of both bands are long time friends.

Thanks so much for reacting to mind-blowing Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and extraordinary musicians. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Their live performances are outstanding. Asami was a R&B, soul and jazz singer before she joined the band. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just seven years. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. Miho (former bassist and founder of the band) once said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Some people say that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Before the pandemics they toured Asia and Europe, including Wacken Open Air (Germany, 2018). For you, I recommend “Liar”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Shadowmaker”, “MDO”, “Raise some hell”, “Chopin etude + Swan song”, “Dancing with the devil”, “Edge of the world”. For heavy stuff I recommend “The hammer of wrath”, “Judgement day”, “Set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”. All live. For MVs, I suggest “Glory to the world”, “Stand and deliver (shoot’em down)”, “When destinies align”, “Shadowmaker”.

Lovebites best heavy metal band some of my favorites from them: A Frozen Serenade, Dancing with the Devil, Edge of the World, Empty Daydream, Epilogue, Judgement Day, Liar, Spellbound, Stand and Deliver, Swan Song with Chopin Intro
I have been a professional guitarist for 49 years. 15 years touring regionally, a few nationally, the rest in the studio as a session musician and later, writing and producing. I can tell you that there is nothing normal about the quality of these two guitarist. These ladies are exceptional by any standard, all of them. Drop the female crap off of the label! Lovebites is just plain good! Furthermore, the fact that they can pull this off live, is nothing short of amazing!
Prepare yourselves to be amazed! Welcome. To become invested in the band, watch a few videos pre COVID, before the original bassist left. Then, imagine sitting for a few years, with a huge fan base, increasing daily, because of youtube influencers, and no ability to do anything about it. Then, for your entertainment, watch their Bass audition documentary. Pull up a few videos of their current bassist, before joining Lovebites, probably Alien Alien, and her high school album original, Passion. Understand that this, then 20 year old, had never played a sizable live concert. Now, watch any video from Knockin' At Heaven's Gate, their comeback concert. Once you complete all of that, you will understand why all of us are so invested in this glorious band. We love them, and I'm sure you will too.

Fami is excelent. I was afraid that the band would disappear with the departure of the bassist, but they managed to find a great replacement, who, although quite a bit younger, fits well with the others. And when I read that she hadn't performed on stage before that, I didn't understand.

Members from Lovebites attended Band-Maid's 10th Anniversary tour final concert in Yokohama last year. The same live concert from the 'Hate' music video. There is an image of them sitting in the front row just as lead guitarist Kanami walks past them around the elevated walkway that went around the arena.
As for all-female bands, Japan has the most by number and per capita then any nation. There are hundreds of them in many genres. Notebly in Rock and Heavy Metal. It has been this way for decades. But the numbers jumped much higher from the mid-2000s and hasn't fallen. It seems there are even more bands today and many people overseas are discovering them or becoming aware because of now established bands such as Scandal, Babymetal, Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, etc.

So, you have found Lovebites and BAND-MAID and listened to one song of them each. Now, they both have 100+ bangers so you have to do until Christmas or so.
Anyhow, then you have three more al female bands that is in a kind of rock/metal package that reactors look at. All are very good. Top notch!
The two first are Japanese and the third is from Mexico.
* Nemophila - a band with excellent musicians. They are kind of metal, using typical metal instruments like seven string guitars and five string bass. Their own stuff tends to be hard. The main singer has both a clean and a scream voice. They also have done fantastic, mostly classic rock, covers, for their own amusement and made videos in the drummers rehearsal studio. They have both live, music videos and studio live and all are very good. They have some older live stuff that is fan based that has really bad audio though, but I think it is not so easy to find any more. Recommendations:

* ama-te-ras (Live)
* Oiran (Studio Live or 2023 Live)
* Raitai (Music Video)
* Revive (Music Video)
* Rise (Music Video)
* Zen (Live)
* Hanabie - a fun group. They make fantastic music videos. I like best to look at those. Regarding live stuff, it is a mixed bag. They are very good live today. Older stuff is so-so. They are very young and developing day by day. They are Metal Core, i.e. they growl. But, do give it a try even if you do not like growling. They are very cute and Japanese. BTW - the growler is a cut 4'9 girl. Everyone recommends you to start with "We love sweets". That one will clearly show who they are. Even though they have a new drummer now. Recomendations:

* The Warning - three sisters in a power rock trio. They are young, but they have played together for 10 years as they started when they were 10. They sound really big. You cannot imagine that they are only three. All three sisters can sing. Its guitar, drums and bass. They are very good att writing catchy songs. Recommendations
* Anything from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, all is good - maybe "Disciple" or "Dust to Dust" or "Enter Sandman"
* Anything from MTV VMA awards - maybe "Evolve"
* "Automatic Sun"
* "Hell you call a dream"
Always happy to see when women love heavy metal and even happier when women love heavy metal played by other women. Unfortunately that doesn't happen too often. I'm looking forward to more from both of you about Lovebites and hopefully other Japanese female heavy metal bands like Nemophila, Bridear, Aldious ...

Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in

In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

The main principles of the band presented by Miho, the founder and first bassist of LOVEBITES, are as follows.
①Heavy metal (basic policy)
②All English lyrics (strategy for global expansion)
③White costumes (Most metal bands wear black costumes, and if these short girls wore black costumes, they would be hidden, so they wear white costumes to contrast and stand out.)
④High heels (to compensate for short height)
Miho also thought about the visual effects on stage.

The band members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained as a Ballet Dancer and was a R&B singer before she joined Lovebites. She writes a lot of the lyrics, in English.
Midori, ESP Guitars. She is the blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Midori is also a body builder and has scored very highly in competitions in japan.
Miyako, Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. She is a classically trained pianist and writes much of the bands music, often incorporating themes from classical music into her compositions.
Both guitarists play lead, switching from lead to rhythm and back as needed. Their harmonised twin guitar solos are a wonder to behold.
Haruna, Drums, nicknamed the 'Little BIG Engine' due to her small stature (around 1.4 meters, 4' 9") and relentless energy whilst on stage. Co founder of the band, along with,
Miho, Bass Guitar.
Miho left the band for personal reasons in 2021 and the band went on hiatus until they recruited a new bassist in late 2022 in the form of then 20 year old Fami, who was still studying at university.
Fami has her own YT channel with over 700,000 subs.

I love watching first time reactors to Lovebites. Here are these pretty women, all dressed up like they are going to the prom and BAM!! They punch you right in the face with this burst of heavy metal that just crushes you. I've been listening to them for about 4 years and can't get enough. Any song you pick to react to will be a winner. But the 3 songs I always recommend are Set the World on Fire, Break The Wall (these are with their old bassist who is playing in the video you watched), and Judgement Day (with their new bassist). Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …

I hate to remind that you are behind, but I just discovered this realm less than 2 years ago, and in the past year I saw Band-Maid, Babymetal, Hanabie, and Otoboke Beaver in concert, and I still missed at least 4 great female bands from Japan, Korea, and Indonesia. I will get to see my favorite, LOVEBITES, in Atlanta this September!!! If I come out alive, I will be sure to let everyone know! TOO MUCH FUN!!!
They are all petite ladies, they chose to wear white because Metal Stages are usually very dark. White reflects light making them stand out on stage.
The first guitarist is self taught, picking up the guitar at 18 yo. First riffs she ever played were from Metallica. She has been playing the piano since she was 3 yo.

I would also like to add that, in addition to the amazing guitar playing, concert master level piano playing, Miyako composes most of the band's songs. An absolutely exceptional woman.

Vixen was an all female band in America as was Runaways with Joan Jett and Lita Ford in the 70's
At the end of 2023 I turned my attention to LoveBites. I'm still impressed by watching LoveBites' first concert, "Battle in the East", recorded and released in 2018. This band is the pinnacle of true heavy metal.

Yeah - that Miyako moment is as "rock 'n roll" as anything I've ever seen. It's like she's saying I'm standing here casually shredding your face off, and you (the audience) can sit there and enjoy it. Personally I don't have a problem with the description "wedding" or "prom" dress. Asami's costume especially is a classic fairy prom dress style.
I actually disagree with this analysis although I've heard a lot of people say the same thing.... that she is shrugging nonchalantly; almost arrogantly making the statement that this is easy for her. That is just not Miyako who is the most humble and least arrogant person imaginable. If you really look at her body language during that solo, I think she's just internalising; feeling the music in the moment and raising her shoulders the way you do when some exquisite note sends a shiver down your spine. There is nothing casual or nonchalant about it.... she is simply living the,music as she plays it.

I see you've just started your channel. Welcome! You seem to have found some amazing Japanese bands already. Lovebites is probably my favorite of them, although they are all fantastic musicians.
I am going to suggest a couple bands from Europe that I know you will love, Nightwish and Epica.
They are both symphonic metal bands with massive followings. They feature two of the best singers in rock music, Simone Simons of Epica and Floor Jansen of Nightwish. To start, I recommend watching Epica perform Unleashed at the Retrospect 10th Anniversary show. You won't regret it.

Lovebites is such an unbelievably skilled band that I would almost always recommend watching their live performances, but the official MV for Destiny Align is really amazing too.
Are there better Metal bands around right now? Not for me ... not for me. Lovebites: my eternal flame.
