The main aim of the platform is to precipitate debate on why teeth are crooked. Most people are not aware that (in most cases) the dental profession has little or no idea why the teeth are crooked, or for that matter why children need major surgery. Clearly there are genetic issues, however the science is clear, the weight of quality research papers, in respected peer reviewed journals, show that our modern lifestyle is a more important factor and most importantly we can do something about this.
This is especially important as sleep apnoea, TMD, forward head posture and a most otolaryngology problems are implicated as other symptoms of the same underlying problem.

People..if you doubt this person. Let me make it clear. Its been one year that iam following his advice through this channel.
I am 22 years old now and started mewing and chewing hard a year back. I had breathing problem including nasal polyps that lead me to breathe through mouth occasionally. 6 months into starting mewing i noticed nothing much. But when a friend from my school days met me a few months back he told me "your face looks different" . Its then i noticed. My jaw line has developed and my face is much defined . I can feel my cheekbones as if they has come forward...not much but still noticeable.
Trust me this works but dont expect any rapid change , it takes time.

May you live longer and good health
I have been mewing properly (my tongue was always resting at the roof of my mouth since I don't remember, but not all the way) and I also did other non-mew techniques, my main goal was to give my lower eyes some support... first thing I've noticed that my roommates said I stopped snoring.
So, I can't wrap my mind around how this info is controversial if something as simple as one's tongue placement affects something as crucial as their sleeping quality.
Have your eyes developed any better?

Fantastic lecture!! Thank you Mike Mew!
Wow what a knowledgable man he is..
I'm looking into getting a palette expansion so I took these notes:
- Professor John Mew Palette Expansion Lecture Notes -
Good ones:
- Biobloc Stage 1 or BB1 ★ (best in the world made by Professor John Mew himself)
* Causes no scarring by allowing for new bone growth on the palette
* No damage to periodontal membranes (1/8 mm per day or more will cause damage)
* Slow and gentle @ 1/16 mm per day
* Requires no surgery
* No springs or TADs (they do a poor job and cause damage)
* Allows space for mewing
* Growth is stable and further expansion after usage is possible (must mew)
* Works on adults and gives at least 5-10 mm of additional width
* Generally operates with good orthodontic practice in mind and significantly boosts facial attractiveness
- AGGA (acceptable knockoff of the former)
- ALF (also effective & gentle all-wire system)
Bad ones: (avoid at all costs)
- DNA*
- Homeobloc*
- NAC**
- MARPE**
- RPE**
* really bad spring-based knockoffs of BB1
** might as well just safe money and use vice grips or something
What makes a good palette expander?
* Slow and gentle, especially on the periodontal membranes ("semi-rapid" 1/16 mm per day expansion)
* Doesn't cause damage to the suture along the palette
* No springs, (especially on the individual teeth), TADs, or surgical assistance
greatly appreciated for making these notes public!

I owe so much to you guys, I started Mewing in 2018, at the time I was extremely unhappy with how my face looked, my jaw was undefined, my face looked average. Now my jawline is much stronger and much better than it used to be, now I'm approached by girls rather than having to approach girls like I used to. I can't begin to thank you enough.
Honestly i don't know nothing about this. Can you tell me how you did it.

I wanted to invest more in Crypto but I got caught up in the dip so bad so I had to dump
What are you talking about specifically? This doesn't seem mewing relates at all, haha.
I have had experience using the upper DNA appliance. It has resulted in expansion which has (obviously) been helpful and the good thing is that it's a removable appliance, however I would be interested to know how much damage may have been done to my roots from having the pressure placed on teeth by the springs for a prolonged period. When I had an x-ray after completing the initial treatment (I am now in braces to fix a cant from prior orthodontics) my dentist could not identify any damage from the DNA appliance, but we did notice minor root resorption in a lower premolar likely from prior orthodontics.
Any updates? U think it's good after all?

in addition to following the Mews' advice, you could do intraoral techniques to speed up results

Do you think there could be minor neurological damage in addition to the modern diet effecting the lack of tongue posture, that may cause a dis coordination in the muscles used? Given our exposure to such toxins in food, air, water, and other materials/medical treatments, etc.

After year plz remind me share my results
Let's see

Anyways, I was wondering will mewing help me considering I’m 17 and will I see all the perks of it
Yes sure it works
Can you make a more detailed video on the homeoblock compared to your appliance?
Teeth together is literally the 1st thing you must master subconsciously. Without it, mewing is pointless.
I don't think that's true perhaps you can explain?
Can you please explain why?
@@colleenbenedicto1715 the teeth holds the maxilla up. So when the teeth are together, they push the maxilla forwards. I figured this out by looking my dogs tongue posture. I opened her mouth and her teeth were together, tongue on the roof, and lips closed.
@@corporalsteiner6850 nope you are wrong. Teeth together causes the maxilla to move forward and will correct any bite problems. Teeth together doesn’t mean clinching. If they aren’t together, the bottom teeth won’t grow with the upper teeth as the palate expands.
@@corporalsteiner6850 Every dog I’ve seen keeps their teeth together, lips closed, and tongue automatically goes to the roof.

@@angusmcbean752 not too old. you can gain skeletal changes at any age
@@ImaDoWatIWant Agreed
But do you NEED palatial expansion to bring the halves of the maxilla further apart? If you have your tongue positioned at the sutures for at least 8 hours each day, will this be able to reshape it without the need for biobloc?
Hey I've finally able to touch my palate with my tongue 👅...im so happy....and my jawline changed drastically after 6 months....but I've also wounded my palate i don't know how it happened also not sure what happend...any suggestions?

But doesn't Mike Mew say its not possible to expand in adults?
I’m 15 I’ve been mewing for almost 2 years now, I went to an orthodontist a while ago because of the pain in my jaw turn out my wisdom teeth had no space to grow into so they started to push against the other teeth, here’s the thing so if mewing would make more spacer for my wisdom teeth what will happen to the gap between my two front upper teeth??
i am expanding using the homeoblock and it is incredible! Very comfortable and effective
How old are you? I’m 20 I don’t know if any of these things could work
@@SG-pd9mf 33 haha
Don't believe the nonsense of it being fused. Gradual intermittent pressure can expand your palate. Im proof. When I expand fully to what our ancestors intermolar width used to be- high 40s ealy 50s im post before and after in reddit.
@@David-fv2hj omg and I’ve heard it can help you to have a symmetrical face ? I’m panicking bc my orthodontist wants to extract 6 tooth plus they already extracted one molar. But I suffer from sleep apnea and I can see my jaw is too narrow that’s what causes crowding but I can’t find a doctor who even knows this device :( in ny
And they already put braces on which is correcting the crowding at the bottom but I’m more asymmetrical now since they’re pushing the teeth to one side
Hi, just wanted to ask whether I should continue mewing as I've done braces about 2 years ago and am currently wearing retainers every night when I go to bed. I tried to mew in the day and sleep with retainers in the night but my teeth would kind of hurt and feel a little loose. I read up on various forums that mewing and wearing retainers is basically doing 2 opposite things (mewing is trying to expand and using retainer is holding the current position in place and does not allow expanding) and it would hurt my teeth in the long run without any improvements.
Im just gna like and comment so someone can help you lol
@@AintChillGuy Thanks :) Still waiting haha
I’m on the same boat as you. Would like to hear advice on this
I'm no professional but I think it would only make sense to stop wearing the thing that's preventing you from making mewing progress!
stop wearing your retainer non-permanent if you mew. It will loosen your teeth because mewing causes expansion and your retainer is keeping it there. This causes a back and forth with your teeth and will eventually cause it to fall out. mewing and correct swallowing will keep your teeth straight it might cause some gaps though. I think gaps are better than having a recessed face though.
Anybody here I just clocked 22, I'm baffled as it may be to late for me.... I only in my family has oblong head profile and I a very tall guy.... I am wondering if that could totally change.....
Hving problem with TMD, I guess I have found a solution I am already adjusting by...
But I'm more concerned with my oblong head profile being forever the same.....
PLS: GOOD ADVICE IS WHAT I NEED AS YOUR RESPONSE COULD HELP OTHERS GET EDUCATED TOO.... THANKS IN ADV..
Is arch line expansion reversible if I don’t wear a retainer?
My (25) lower jaw is positioned 0,7mm behind my upper jaw (overjet). Therefore when I'm mewing, I'm moving my lower jaw to the normal position. Do you think you shouldn't do this and mewing will fix the problem itself or pretend that your lower jaw is positioned more foward and that will help to get to the position as you're getting used to it? Or do both, but not at the same time? Thanks for your help.
I've got the same problem and have the same question
How is someone to have an adjustment each day?
Please talk about bone loss and gap teeth. This is my biggest insecurity. Ive talked to many specialist and they dont want to do anything with it until it will fall off. But I cant live the rest of my life with gap teeth...I dont know what to do :(
Mewing hasn’t worked for me, I’m 16 and have been practicing mewing for almost 2 years. I’ve seen no difference and if anything my teeth profile has gotten worse. I have however seen a nice improvement of my jawline and other facial features.
check if ur pushing the teeth or not

However I have seen improvements in other areas such as my jawline🤷♂️🤷♂️

Dear anyone who read this. We all know that Dr Mew said that extraction was bad for jaw. But what if I don’t want to get it removed but it hurts and damaging other teeth? My lower jaw is small and I don’t think it’ll wider soon
Sadly even if I am able to find orthotropists near me that use biobloc, they only use it on children because they don't think adults' palates can expand. Dr John Mew, why don't they think it's possible to expand adults' palates when they are orthotropists? Did they not get the memo in their training?
Maxillary arches can be expanded in adults. Read the book "Breath" by James Nester.
I found several dentists in the L.A. area who use similar devices. I'm a 47-year-old woman and having both palatal and mandibular expansions.
@@myoldvhstapes What are the devices called?
Dr Won Moon says otherwise, you can expand your palata
@@chaniam: Oops, sorry. RUclips never notified me of your question. I don't know the names. The one in the top is made from a mould of the palate, like a classic teenage retainer. It's split down the middle so it can be expanded each week.
The one in the bottom is sort of an A-frame metal contraption that is anchored on two molars. There's a crossbar that is expanded one milimetre per week.
Sir it's really important for me to know that why my molar teeth are aching so much i can't even chew hard substance this starts 2 weeks after mewing.
Molars should be in light contact only for 6 hours a day and no more

Thoughts on INVISALIGN for EXPANSION? It's what My ortho recommended Me.
14 trays of invisalign with 10 days of use each, for a total of 140 days.
"Align" doesnt expand
@@asifhossain8363 Actually it does, because if your teeth are misaligned, they usually crowd by twisting and turning
When they straighten out (align), it naturally arches in the space available
So it DOES expand, but it of course won't expand as much as a device that solely expands the arch by attaching to the back molars
Never invisalign. Do DNA Appliance or something like that which is also expand your gum with your tooth together.
