Nice to see these other companies finally stepping their charging game up. After dragging my feet for over a year I recently bought a HOTA S6 last Christmas and at AC400W/DC650W it's absolutely great for 6S & larger MAH lipos for the $170 pricepoint 👌🏽🔋❤
I switched to a Hota D6 Pro a few years ago and it has the same software and interface. After coming from 4 button beep beep chargers it’s so amazing. My guess is they have the same manufacturer/OEM or at minimum the software if from the same company. I’m so glad the RC industry is FINALLY moving away from 4 button chargers
I was just looking at the HiTec chargers at my local Hobby shop today, my guy that works there said he really likes them, they are a great charger...I think i might get one!!!
Those chargers look good and if I didn't run Traxxas batteries (and chargers) in my rigs this is something I'd certainly consider. Along with maybe Spektrum. Either way good stuff. FYI: If you're ever looking for ideas on content consider doing a RC battery maintenance/care video. Just a thought... Like button energized.
Gens ACE D300 Dual charger is still the king right now. Check it out. Have been using it for over a year now. Everyone has this charger in my rc club. Lightweight, small, and still 300wats without extra gear.
Decent charger as well, but still only 1.2amp balance current. This is the part that's slows chargers down at the end trying to balance cells to complete chargers cycle. The lower this balance current longer it takes to finish a battery. 1.2a ain't bad. 2.0 amp is the highest balance current I've seen.
Dang... I just got a duel charger and was thinking of buying another because I literally thought man it would be so nice to charge 4 lipos at a time without spending $500 on a pro kit. Now I'm gunna have to get one of these! Thanks a lot 😂 (low key cant wait don't tell my wife 🤫 lol)
Love my older 2ch Hitec charger, but recently picked up a Reedy for our 4s packs. I'd love to see more options that put out 150-200w per channel on AC power.
Am I reading the specs correctly for the 4 port version? On AC it is 200w total so 50w per port if 4 batteries are connected? Doesn’t that mean for charging at 1C you won’t be able to charge 4 5000mah+ 4S batteries in about 1 hour (assuming they were pretty empty)? It would be more on the 2 hour track to get them done.
It's nice , all matching colors , too . Economics forbids every new charger that comes along , thou . No racer but do Fly Quads , Helis & cars everyday & get along just fine with G/A Imar 3 & old Venom pro quad 1s chargers for the micro c/p . Space is @ a premium , one bench for many a tinkering .
There's always adapters so you can charge those batteries that have the traxxas connectors or other style connectors all my rc have either the deans or xt 60 connector but these look like amazing an fast high performance smart chargers 💯🇺🇸
I found my answer - Balance current is 1.5amp max. Which is actually pretty good. There are a few chargers higher to finish batteries faster. This will get the job done nicely
Have their older x4 80. Metal frame. Still working. Think one port might be bad. Had it for a long time think like 10 years. Like their servos too. Like the color screen and new ontrols. Only thing I hate are their power supplies. These look interesting but I'd consider Thunder Power. These look innovative though compared to Thunder Power.
Thx for the preview! I enjoyed your excellent review of the RDX2 Pro and was very intrigued by the QR code function. Do these new chargers have that feature as well? Also, do you know for these chargers and the RDX2 Pro, if the Battery Analyzer function in the Charge Master app can graph all ports or just Port A? TIA!
Hitech chargers you only buy once and they will last forever. I have one that is 10 years old and still works like it is brand new. It was also ahead of its time in lithium charging. It can discharge or storage charge lithium batteries super fast. at home at the field or on the way home.
I have a feeling that some Hitec and SkyRC are definitely coming from the same source for the last couple generations.... makes me wonder for how long, but also makes me consider trying a SkyRC. I just need one that has 150-200w per channel, on AC power...still love my old 2ch Hitec, but recently picked up a Reedy for our 4S packs... still use both
The new Hitec looks to be made by hota a chinese company. All the best chargers are from chinese companies sky rc , gens ace , hitec , hota. Others are just rebranded chinese products. China builds quality. Think about it. All apple products all milwaukee and ridgid power tools are made in china.
Just got the RDX2 1000 WATTS DC and love it, RDX4 is my next one! These chargers are super easy to use and VERY RELIABLE.

Better cheaper options. Than trx and spectrum, those are for lazy noobs imo. Wayyy overpriced ecosystem
@@redndeyes Duly noted
Get or build a charge lead adapter and you can use any charger for TRX batteries.
These look great. Really compact and decent prices.
Nice! They make great chargers!

Protek has a 4 charger for under $250.

Looks good and the price is right
1st, hell yes, you make incredible videos, keep em coming 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🪂
Time to tetire my xa i love it still looks and works like new lol but these new models dont need a balance board and thats what i love...✌🏼

You are right. It’s super weak and will take for ever.
I am guessing these are made by skyrc or who ever makes skyrc ones. Although not saying that’s bad as I like my skyrc chargers.
Thank you for the information. Great content as always.
Smart kit!
Isdt for the win. Stand alone Discharger too just works
I'd really like to see some UltraPower reviews. I have a Hitec RDX1 Mini in my locker at work for some ,"on the clock" run time.

What is the balance charge amp/rate? This goes along way on how fast battery can finish.
I found my answer - Balance current is 1.5amp max. Which is actually pretty good. There are a few chargers higher to finish batteries faster. This will get the job done nicely
@@Mr.Zeraven the balance charge is different per model. 1A on the RDX2 200, 1.5A on RDX2 800 and 800mA on the RDX4.

Think I would like to see a DC only option.
Looks like you can only have the yellow battery connectors for this charger.
I owned a hi tec once it just quit one day , I'll probably never buy them ever again.. protek for my charging needs. Quality in how it's made.

Can I run this for a Traxxas XRT?
Ide rather have the gens ace D300 dual charger
You will regret it.

Why is that??
@@FarmerFpvI love my gens ace charger. 16Ammps per channel and its lightweight and tiny.
Nice
Are you from Connecticut
Just ordered RDX2 1000 not this came out 😅
they are just skyrc in red
They have different features as well.
Aren't these just rebadged Sky RC chargers at a more expensive price ?
Sure looks like it just in red👍
@@TheToecutter69 I get doing it Sky RC make great well priced chargers but to make a big thing of it is a little strange
Most likely very similar spec too. Industry standard borrow and rebadge.

No, Sky RC chargers are imitations of Hitec. They starting copying Hitec years ago and use much cheaper internals.

Nice chargers for sure. Just wish they came with banana plug inputs instead of XT60s.
