Am going to tackle this job on my 2005 X3 today. Going to try and do it without taking off the intake manifold. In case I have to take it off your video will be very helpful. Thank you so much.

Hi Zeiten. Thanks for the reply. Your videos are great and very useful. I currently own a 2004 x5 with the M54 engine and has been very reliable. It has 300 plus kilometres and still going strong.

Really Helpful. Doing mine today in tandem with my oil filter housing gasket, water pump, Thermostat housing, and lower radiator hose. Then onto the Thrust arm bushings, CV boot repair, diff oil change, as well as transfer case fluid.

Thanks so much. It’s the first time I’ve tried anything so complex and I wouldn’t have even thought about it without this video and your help. Nearly completed rebuild and I do have two hard plastic pipes I can’t find connections for - one comes out any the tank ventilation valve but isn’t the one to the valve (looks like it comes from drive housing near left front wheel), and the other is attached to a bracket with the dipstick - so one front and one at rear of air intake manifold. I’ll just leave them hanging and give it a go, unless you have any ideas or advice. Thanks again - great work.

Excellent video tutorial, but I think I may need that link for the longer oil pan to ventilator hose; it’s mentioned in the video, but I don’t see it in the description. I do thank you for one of the best vehicle repair ones I’ve seen/worked with; it’s been extremely valuable.

Perfect, I was able to do mine only difference was whenever I lifted up the intake manifold under it going from manifold to the starter is a electrical wire that has a bolt on it, took that off and manifold came off like a piece of cake
