I'm part of the Millennial generation and absolutely love this show. It is one of the greatest series ever created and the only series so long running I didn't hate after a couple of seasons. I love this show to the end, and Lansbury is a timeless masterpiece of the world.
12 seasons is incredibly long run and back then it was almost unheard of besides shows like Gunsmoke. So for the quality of the show to be sustained for so long is really rare and shows how amazing this show and Angela's staying power was
Born in 1992! Bit the bullet and bought the complete series, to cherish Lansbury while we still can. Chugging through all the series, currently on season 4. I love catching actors playing another character several years/seasons later, because there is so many naturally the audience would forget.
@@curiotimetv That's such a good point. So many of the actors playing side characters in the series I've noticed later on in movies playing larger roles. So great to see them in their starting roles and watching them breakout elsewhere.
I have memories of my late mother and I watching this show together. Even when she was stricken with Alzheimer's she still had a hint of remembering this show. Rest in peace Mom and Dame Angela.
I live in the Philippines in Southeast Asia. This show along with The Golden Girls my mom watched both religiously. I would watch with her. It was great when reruns were shown in cable she watch ed as well. She also passed away some time. When episodes of this show was played or Golden Girls memories cama back.
Since lockdown in the UK I have become an authority on MSW. So good in fact it could be my subject on Mastermind. Angela Lansbury was brilliant, a true professional, plus the producer of the show. I can't think of any other actress better suited to this role. Thank you Ms Lansbury for making a rotten 13 months more bearable.
Angela Lansbury is a class act. I love her. Watched her debut in "Gaslight" and the film on which she met her longtime friend, Hurd Hatfield, "The Picture Of Dorian Gray" and she really doesn't change. She's amazing. Love "Murder She Wrote" and I own several of the seasons.
Recently have been binging the hell out of mystery series such as Columbo, In The Heat of the night, Perry Mason,Matlock and of course Murder, She Wrote that has become a personal favorite along with Columbo. There's just something about Jessica Fletcher and the way Angela plays her that makes watching the show fun, comforting and compelling. Great writing and great casting. No wonder it ran 12 years, had four hit tv movies and is still on multiple channels in multiple countries.
I love murder she wrote! My husband bought me the DVD series when we were dating about 3 years ago. I was so excited! But I still watch it on the hallmark channel because I never get tired of it! It's my favorite show. I didn't watch much as a kid when it came out in the 80s so I'm so glad I can enjoy it now😊
Best part of my young years.i just bought the complete series and can't wait to rewatch all of them...thanks dame Angela Lansbury for giving us all the best TV show since mash...
She is my all time favorite actress. So elegant! She will be missed. But we have the DVD's of Murder She Wrote to watch. We also catch her performances in old movies as well. Such a wonderful lady.
I loved this as a kid, every Sunday afternoon. Still love it. It got me into murder Mysteries like father Dowling. Murder she wrote was brilliant fromm beginning to end. Angela was more than fabulous in it. I think without her it would not have been as good.
I'm a career woman well into my 30's but one of my dad's favorite (and cheesy) jokes to ask me whenever there is a lull in any conversation is "So have you ever decided what you're going to do when you grow up." And my answer is "I'm going to be Jessica Fletcher." Like me, she was an English teacher before she retired to be a mystery book writer and, subsequently, crime-solver. That's my dream. I sure do love this show. I grew up watching it and still watch the re-runs. Angela Lansbury did an amazing job of bringing to life one of my favorite characters of all time.
Ariel_Grey29 I was three when the show started. Both my nanny and grandmother (two Italian women a few years older than Angela Landsbury) would always put MSW or the sound of music on to put me to sleep :) and of course I love both the show the film!
She had me just by the sound and dialect of her voice. IT (her voice) commanded my attention. I am experiencing the command even in this interview. She was a talent like nothing I have/had ever seen.
This was a show that my mother loves and I also. I loved it when it first aired in my late teens/early 20s. Dame Angela Lansbury just has so much charisma, and the show was well done all around.
i'm glad they made a show that featured an "older woman" =) I still watch this show! it's great! i used to watch it when i was really little too and i loved it. i think this show is way better than a lot of the shows of today that feature crazy teenagers or overly seductive adults, i don't care how corny it is. jessica fletcher is a great role model for sure!
I loved this show as a kid and l still love it today as an adult! Fun characters, interesting plots, and the catchiest little opening song! Makes me smile every time I hear it. What a classic series! And Angela...such a brilliant actress! ♥
She seems to be the same person in private as well as acting. So nice, this pronounciation of english/ american language. Talking, besides, of female emancipation...insisting on what she feels is right. May she rest in peace.🕊
Murder She Wrote was my favorite TV show for years! I LOVE Angela Lansbury and I love the character of Jessica Fletcher! Put the two together and there are no words for the magnificence! I just wish someone would write a really good crossover fanfiction in which Jessica travels to Miami and meets the Golden Girls. (Both shows were on in roughly the same time period, so that would work.) I'd do it myself but I'm not sure I have either the talent or the drive. Anyone out there?
It's so cute when Angela says that people liked them and others mentioned how people viewed them as family. It hasn't changed this show and character jump into your heart and has a special place there. Not many shows can claim this honor. I have to agree that you feel you feel like Jessica is auntie you wishes u had and same as a friend, just such a fun funny character. I love Angela and it was amazing seeing a movie of her at 19 so incredibly talented and that only grew. Thanks for a awesome show for so many years and all the actors who began and ezited on it. That in itself was amazing seeing all those well loved faces.
Yes, it just has that something special about it. It's comfort food tv at its finest. It shares that with The Golden Girls and The Nanny, two shows I watched all the time as a kid and still do. It was unique and at the same time familiar. The character of Jessica and other Cabot Cove residents felt like family in a weird way. I'm 23 and a guy yet I have 20 or so episodes on my DVR today and have been watching this along with other classics like Columbo and In The Heat of The Night every day of the week. All feel good, intelligent and escape type shows. Murder, She Wrote of course was in a league of her own.
Angela Lansbury od such a great and talented actress. "Murder She Wrote" ist my favorite TV series. Jessica Fletcher rules :-) Thank you for all episodes dear Angela!
i must have seen every episode in the 80's I was a huge fan of Murder she wrote...my mom and i used to watch it every week....That;s what made me love Angela Lansbury---as a young kid in the 80s
Wonderful show, have seen every episode more than once easily... It is never lost on me realizing that she was a "Lucky Lady" herself, as were we the audience, she was 59, unheard of weird, going into her 70`s too cute...
Angela Lansbury brought so much joy to me. When I started watching murder she wrote. And I’m not the only one who loves her. So does my boyfriend he loves Angela Lansbury. Thanks JB Fletcher you’re the best
I have been watching Murder She Wrote since 1984 when it burst on the scene. I have watched it all year, every year since. And when it's said 'like a member of the family' - absolutely! I bought the series on DVD so I could watch whenever I wanted, with no commercials! I have enjoyed Angela Lansbury as an actress on her own, but she became family through Murder She Wrote as Jessica Beatrice Fletcher! Many an evening you can hear me say 'I'm coming Jessica!' when it's time for the program. My sadness at the series is that she has gone on to heaven and that they (networks) are chopping up the episodes for insidious, inane commercials so that crucial scenes and dialogues are missing and really affecting continuity. Honestly, they all became family -Jessica, Amos, Seth, Mort, Grady, Donna, Eve, Loretta, Ideal -I look forward to seeing them.
Нежно любимая, прекрасная в любом возрасте, дорогая Анжела Ленсбери! Спасибо Вам за милую, добрую, очаровательную Джессику Флетчер и другие Ваши прекрасные роли!
Rewatching it all again, currently on Season 7. Absolutely love it! Jessica is amazing! Most new crime shows I guess straight away but I rarely get these. So enjoyable. RIP 🕵🏼♂️
Angela Lansbury is my idol. I love her so much. I love to watch her show murder she wrote too. I know it may not ever happen, but I is my dream to meet her. It probably won't happen. When he said she was charming and decent, she's charming and amazing and above decent
This LADY, Angela Lansbury is someone I have followed a lot of years! I love her in 'Murder She Wrote' but now, when I see her in old movies, I see how she has been talented and among the best, all along! She was great on the screen AND the stage! Hard to believe she is 95 now -- we wish her well and a few MORE years under her belt!
What a great woman! Loved her show and will miss her. May she RIP and know how much she’s given and how much happiness she’s given to this world.🥰
she was 59 years old when she started! i cant beleve it! she looked much younger like in her 40's! this show is fantastic!
I Just Heard The Sad News Of Angela Lansbury's Passing. She Was A Great Actress From The Golden Age Of Hollywood. Rest In Peace, Angela Lansbury.
Jessica Fletcher has brought me hours of enjoyment. I applaud Dame Angela for making this character so beloved.
She has a country home in East Cork and comes over every summer. I met her last July and had 2 minutes of her gracious time. A marvellous lady.

I think the same ❤
Same! Many of us do appreciate older things

R.I.P. Dame Angela, we will rewatch everything you've ever done.
When you look up the word "class" her picture is the definition. She is a star of the purest form. What a lady.
I have memories of my late mother and I watching this show together. Even when she was stricken with Alzheimer's she still had a hint of remembering this show. Rest in peace Mom and Dame Angela.
Very touched by comment. I watch it every week with my mother.

I’m sad to hear that we’ve lost Angela Lansbury today aged 96
I was in elementary school, and I was a fan. Rest in Peace, Dame Angela Lasbury. 😢
Let me just say, I’m thankful this show happened. One of my favorite shows, and one of my favorite actresses.
Mine to 😊
Angela is an international treasure... Great show, better actress... Enough Said...

My mom relished this show-thank you, Ms. Lansbury, for giving her such pleasure for so many years.
She gave us decades of pleasure

Great show starring an absolute class act. RIP Dame Angela and thank you
"One life is enough if you do it right" fits her right.

This was WAY too short. Angela Lansbury was so beautiful and talented, and "Murder She Wrote" is one of the best shows ever. Rest In Peace.
I'm apart of the millenial generation and this show is one of the greats...!! I'm actually currently watching right now 🥰
She had me just by the sound and dialect of her voice. IT (her voice) commanded my attention. I am experiencing the command even in this interview. She was a talent like nothing I have/had ever seen.

Viewers did like them. The show was often in the Top Five, Top Ten, or Top Fifteen throughout its run. And it ran for 12 seasons.
