As far as the sequel, don't forget the assistant sent all the files to the rival company as well .... So very many ways she not only comes back, but comes back in numbers.
My money is on they produce an inferior product which M3GAN can slave to her control. You get the standard sequel trope of more of the bad guy and easier to destroy without diminishing their threat as an individual.

35:30 Megan started killing to protect Cady. Then she was killing people she thought were going to take her away from Cady, Then she was trying to kill (and not succeeding) to protect herself. As for Megan's plan to turn Gemma into an invalid thinking she would then be Gemma's caregiver, one reviewer pointed out that M3gan is highly intelligent but still thinks like someone who's been alive less than a year. Think of how kids fantasise about what life would be like if they were in charge not understanding that it would actually be a disaster.
Megan’s dance scene is both funny and creepy at the same time just imagine seeing that in a hallway.
The last thing you see before your death is an AI doll dancing her way towards you and then grabbing a paper cutter💀
Right? That dead, emotionless doll head in contrast with the clearly human body is equally hilarious and freaky looking lmao

When I saw this in theaters, and the little girl slapped the aunt, some woman in the audience yelled out “oh NO she DIDN’T!!!”, and the whole audience laughed, it was hilarious lol

@@natsohigh5552 saw it on Blu-ray from my library hope the sequel is scary in my opinion problem was with this movie Megan was it was too campy totally reminded me of return of the living dead from 1985 which was silly but did have some scary moments in it and was r rated as well😊

I love the underlying message about not allowing technology to raise a child. The scene where Cady throws a tantrum when Gemma takes M3GAN away reminds me a lot when I see parents try to take their kids phones away from them.
Yeah,emotional breakdown and califlower ears,it's a badge of honor. LOL.
God, man, this movie reminds of that 80s sci-fi horror film called Deadly Friend where a teenage boy genius uses a computer chip from his destroyed robot to resurrect his dead girlfriend who was accidentally killed by her dad. That movie and the way it ended creeped me right the hell put and this M3gan movies creeps me out even more!
Megan's dance scene is one of the most greatest, iconic, and memorable parts out of the whole entire movie. It never gets old.😍😎👍💯😏 29:20

ma-three-gan was a nice little gem to see in theaters; the right amount of camp, horror, gore, and fun.
This film was being hyped up for so long prior to its release that I went into it with very low expectations. Fortunately it was great, and I absolutely loved it! The physicality of M3GAN, the running on all fours scene in the woods and then the dance in the hallway seemed to make it so much more creepy. I think you nailed it with the uncanny valley comment. The design of M3GAN was just enough to make you feel really uneasy. I wonder how many iterations they went through before they settled on that design.

'Toy Soldiers' originally was a hit for Martika, in the 80's I think. Then Eminem sampled and renamed 'Like Toy Soldiers'.
Yes the original song is by Martika, from 1989. It’s actually a very beautiful song.
Brandon deserves it... the scene where it (M3gan) hunts him down, is freakin' awesome. It's realy difficult for humans to run like this.
The psychologist was very accurate in her assessments of Gemma being an inadequate care giver for Cady.
Gemma could have bought a few books to read, some colouring books and scrapbooks for drawing in, a board game, a kids sheet set for Cady's bed - anything to help Cady feel welcome in her new home.
Cady had lost her parents, her home, her possessions - everything.
It's no wonder that she clung so desperately to Megan.
The psychologist should have sent Cady to her grand parents though in my opinion.
When she was reactivated at the company, she was smart enough to realize that she would be separated from Katie, and she would therefore not be able to protect her (which was her primary function). An AI maximizes the success of its primary function -- so she had to get back to Gemma's home and couldn't let anything interfere with that. She wasn't looking for the boss with the intent to kill him, but when he saw her, she knew he would stop her from leaving the building. Given that she needed to get away unseen, he had to be destroyed at that point. Same thing for the assistant, Megan would have killed anyone who had the potential to interfere with her primary function.
The part that made no sense was at the very end when Megan turned on Katie -- her primary function was to protect Katie, AI's don't think like humans, so she wouldn't suddenly ignore her primary function just because Katie had ripped her body in half.

Not a lot of time spent on Megan's journey or self-discovery, though.
Most miss that when the dog bights M3GANs head and starts shaking sparks shoot out where it’s biting her and it shows a quick zoom in on her eye where you see yellow and blue sparks bounce around inside. That’s when everything started to go screwy , the glass of water agaisnt the head when she short was that same side of her face the dog but where we say sparks holes where it could get in.
You have to admit, M3GAN is hilarious!.....as well as terrifying!
Megan is one of my favorite horror dolls
My favorite part was the conversation at the end, when you realize how far back M3gans memory went

At 31:10 I thought the same that M3GAN isn't waterproof.
Then I tried to put 2 and two together and thought perhaps the silicone got ripped when Dewey attacked her . You can see a spark during Dewey's attack on M3GAN.

In the other cut of the film when the hacker guy gets killed, she doesn't just slice his throat, she grabs his hand places the sword on it and forces him to kill himself to make it look like he killed himself which I find more dark
Pretty bummed that this is getting a sequel and not "Upgrade" (2018). Such a good movie. Definitely recommend if y'all haven't seen it yet.
I remember way back when I used to have transformers toys. They were pretty much easy to transform as the parts were all visible and moved only in one way. But then they became more complicated after the second generation came out after the 1985 movie and then by the time Beast Wars was out, that shit needed an engineering degree to figure out. lol. A friend of mine had the Beast Wars (dragon) Megatron and I had no clue how to turn him into a robot. lol. I mean the toughest one I ever had was Devastator.
I saw this movie at the movie theatre. I bought the movie on iTunes, Google Play and on DVD. I freaking love this movie. I just watched the unrated version this weekend and it's awesome. One of my favourite movies.

Unbelievable creepy movie which does not even scratch the surface for what AI is capable of getting involved in and the fact it has the ability to cover up what it does is very unnerving indeed.
I hope Megan goes worldwide in the second franchise. Especially them exploring the different ethnicities.

Ok, so fun fact about “goldilocks and the 3 bears”: goldilocks comes from “silver hair” which used to mean “old lady” which referred to a fox. So one of the original versions of this story was about a fox who broke into the bear’s house, stole their sht and slept in their bed and when the bears come home they kill her. So the moral was: don’t break and enter and don’t steal.
It made $176 million dollars against a $12 million dollar budget. Coming January 17, 2025: MEGAN 2.0.
Also I highly recommend the criminally underrated 1998 Action Adventure Horror Thriller DEEP RISING where a couple of mercenaries, an architect, a thief and others battle giant malevolent sea creatures onboard a seemingly abandoned cruise ship.

There is an film from around 1970 starring Julie Christie called, "Demon Seed". About a computer going bonkers and impregnating her.

I wish they went more into the private life of Gemma and Kady. As well as the "therapist", her character seems more like a CPS Agent, not a therapist; overall, great movie

So excited for Megan 2.0 it was greenlit the same month it was released comes out Jan. 2025 that's the set release could be sooner. This was such a fun ride funny as hell creepy and campy about a near perfect movie in my opinion. And using the girl Allison the lead from the movie Get Out she's amazing and has helped produce it and said she will return to the sequel and no spoilers all she could say was they have wild things planned. I'm sure my theory Megan can control other devices why wouldn't she be Able to control other toys that are robotic a toy war is coming for sure lol we need a Chucky crossover
How long was the girl with her aunt before the therapist visited? Should be understandable that a certain amount of time is required to buy toys, etc for a new situation.

I love how they were both imagining better stuff with the dog than what actually happened. That's the thing about this movie and The Menu. They were sufficient but not really special. This entire scenario played out in the A.I. Child's Play remake a few years back.

God, can you picture that? A Megan in every rich person's home? Apocalyptic. That's what the boss would have done if he hadn't been killed. Someone else could still do it. Sequel.
Asimov's 3 laws of robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
It seems to me that M3GAN steps beyond these laws because she was not initially programmed with them. It's all well and good to create an AI as long as this is part of their initial programming. Another wonderful example of breaking the laws of robotics is Ash in A L I E N.
