Beautiful fabric. The best walkway dress I've seen...the only one I'd actually wear. Great video how-to. ❤
Wow, thank you!
The best tutorial I've seen for this walk away dress.
I agree with other comments - brilliant tutorial.
Good to see someone using tracing paper for marking darts. I have seen people making it so difficult trying to mark darts by using chalk. Beautiful dress!
We are so glad you enjoyed the video - We are also glad you like the methods used :)
Best video on making this dress that I've seen. And seeing your sewing techniques was very helpful especially the darts. Thank you. You've inspired me.
Glad it was helpful!
Prettiest walk away dress I’ve seen. I love the fabric you chose. Green is my favorite color. Because I’m super skinny I’m going to make the full round skirt. I only hope it looks as good as yours.
Thank you! Happy sewing!
Thank you so much for all the detailed instructions. I learned so much!
The only walk away dress I like
Great explanations, thank you very much!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I watched your video before I made my dress. Really helpful. Thanks. I increased the length of the shoulder section and then the bust darts fitted perfectly. And I had a really obvious pattern so the flamingos ended upside down😮🦩🦩 Kind of quite like it in a weird way but I would suggest you avoid anything that has a ‘right way up’ because of the very wide skirt….. I love the dress though and will be making more 😃 💃
Melanie, so nice to meet you! Great tutorial. You covered so many techniques, very clear and helpful. Your dress is darling . Thanks so much.
Hi there! We are so glad you liked the video and found it helpful! There were some great tips!
Beautiful fabric choice and sewing job! Thank you
Hi Dianne, We are so glad you enjoyed the video!
Very pretty! I really like your fabric choices. In the finished dress you can really see the difference in the reproduction skirt and the original. This one is meets up down the front and the org splays open
Hi there! I'm glad you like the video! We'd love to see your Walkaway Dress! You can share it on Minerva.com if you want
Do you know how you would make it more open?
Very nice tutorial. I might just try this.
Please do!
I love it!
Pretty
Thanks for the video I have the pattern and fabric ready to sew. I need the buttons, snaps and bias binding.
Thank you so much!
Fab video!
We are glad you enjoyed it!
I'm excited to be making this dress, and watching you sew this has taught me a lot of techniques I never knew about. I have one problem, maybe you can help with it. With my pattern, piece 3 comes in 2 parts: 3, and 3A extension. You have to tape them together. At the place where you have to tape them together, it says "Before you alter or cut lap and tape extension and main piece together, matching line and cut as one." The problem is, which line do I match? There is one line, that looks like where you would cut the pattern. And inside that line is another line, a little lighter in color, with a row of maybe 25 tiny circles on it. So maybe you should line those circles up together. I just don't know. Why don't they say? I can't find anything about this on the internet.
I found a copy of the pattern where the skirt is on one piece. Probably it wouldn't have mattered if I had joined the 2 skirt pieces a little off, but anyway, they should explain things better in the pattern directions!
