I remember when the album came out. I bought the cassette tape and played the shit out of it every day. This is the first album that I sat down with the lyric sheet and played the songs over and over until I learned all of the words. Verbal Razors and the title track are really tricky to do vocals to, but I still know all the words to this day.
Verbal Razors is easily overlooked. I learned all the words when I was 10 lol. It’s super challenging to play

Garry holt is a fucking beast. He sounds like an engine that won't start but still plows through a crowd of people. He has, imo, outpassed his mentor kirk.

Holt probably the best guitarist out of anyone in the big 4, Dave i think being his only competition and even then i still prefer Gary’s bouncy, aggressive, deranged riffing style.

@@johncassar2923 guitar tone here reminds me of barbed wire maybe drenched in battery acid. Just horrible and metal stuff like that. The menacing imagery is a big part of metal for me
Their hardest song is Parasite. There are no band covers of it anywhere on RUclips. The rhythm part during the verses may not be a wrist killer for experienced guitarists but the fact that it is with the snare drum which is on the upbeats will crush most players due to the timing. It’s actually really difficult to play on the drums as you can’t follow a click and you have to feel the part with Tom Hunting’s unique sense of rhythm.
Has a strange kind of chugging rhythm. Great bassline on that track though
Gary Holt is the master of thrash metal riffs.
And after all these decades he can still write awesome, unique stuff. It's amazing.
I don't think so, I would say he is one of the masters along with Scott Ian, Jeff Waters, Jeff Hannemann...

I saw Exodus live back in 2013 in San Francisco. I tell you... those mosh-pits were INTENSE! Tossing those crazy-ass white boys around like sacks of potatoes was some of the most fun I've EVER had!
Also thank you for covering "Impact is Imminent." If Duke called on me to come on stage and suggest the last song of the show... I would have suggested that one... mostly because I know for a fact that people have been getting drunk and high and shit... and need some kind of motivation to drive straight and safely on the road back home. If there is ever a song that warns you of the dangers of drunk-driving... THAT is the song.

Hey man nice playing. I have that same guitar and it looks and sounds incredible. The tone zone pickup in the bridge can do metal as you've clearly shown but sometimes I want to replace mine with something that has a bit more punch.

I used to "treat" myself to "pleasures of the flesh" B side high on coffee and bong hits. I always thought the B side was the A side as I have the vinyl picture disk and it looked cooler and liked it more. "Impact is eminent" tone and riffs are badass and way underated imo.
