I remember when the album came out. I bought the cassette tape and played the shit out of it every day. This is the first album that I sat down with the lyric sheet and played the songs over and over until I learned all of the words. Verbal Razors and the title track are really tricky to do vocals to, but I still know all the words to this day.
Their hardest song is Parasite. There are no band covers of it anywhere on RUclips. The rhythm part during the verses may not be a wrist killer for experienced guitarists but the fact that it is with the snare drum which is on the upbeats will crush most players due to the timing. It’s actually really difficult to play on the drums as you can’t follow a click and you have to feel the part with Tom Hunting’s unique sense of rhythm.
omgdarkfire Dukes was awesome! the best Thrash at the time! Shovelheaded Kill Machine was a beast of an album! Gary Holt is overlooked a lot too. He’s the OG of the Bay Area Thrash Sound!
Great tone, great riffs, great selection of songs and great tecnique on your picking hand. Exodus deserves so much more recognition. Keep on the good work.
Dude... THANK YOU for finally making this video! I saw Exodus live back in 2013 in San Francisco. I tell you... those mosh-pits were INTENSE! Tossing those crazy-ass white boys around like sacks of potatoes was some of the most fun I've EVER had! Also thank you for covering "Impact is Imminent." If Duke called on me to come on stage and suggest the last song of the show... I would have suggested that one... mostly because I know for a fact that people have been getting drunk and high and shit... and need some kind of motivation to drive straight and safely on the road back home. If there is ever a song that warns you of the dangers of drunk-driving... THAT is the song. Great work Hanninen. Keep it up!!
Awesome job with Scar Spangled Banner. I'm teaching myself how to play it right now and it can definitely be frustrating. I'm at around 85 percent speed. Bravo!
Congrats, man ! Very precise and sharply played. I realized here how good were some of these riffs that among the production could not appreciate as much.
Hey man nice playing. I have that same guitar and it looks and sounds incredible. The tone zone pickup in the bridge can do metal as you've clearly shown but sometimes I want to replace mine with something that has a bit more punch.
Deliverance, space time, death of me, remembrance, backbone, from the sky, art of dying, wolf down the earth, the axe Edit: Death of me middle section, backbone middle section, from the sky ending
Verbal razors is wild! It's like a thrash version of ACDC's Beating Around The Bush, and Brain Dead is a heavier Jail Break! Gary is a master of sneaky tritone riffs!
Never actually listened Exodus, but sounds pretty awesome and what comes to challenge. Those Ibanez model names are so easy. Your guitar is IBANEZ RG652AHMFX-NGB PRESTIGE
I used to "treat" myself to "pleasures of the flesh" B side high on coffee and bong hits. I always thought the B side was the A side as I have the vinyl picture disk and it looked cooler and liked it more. "Impact is eminent" tone and riffs are badass and way underated imo.
Verbal Razors gotta be the most overlooked thrash song ever
Fabulous Disaster is very overlooked I reckon
Agree

Verbal Razors is easily overlooked. I learned all the words when I was 10 lol. It’s super challenging to play
Nolan Goldenberg its a great stamina excesice
Gary holt is one of the most clever guitarist ever. Thank you for going deep thru the tracks.
Heh, that's a good way to put it.
But...Hunolt is rhythm guitar, Gary solo
@@musiclamp_ they trade solos actually. And Gary writes most of the riffs
Can't forget Hunolts playing. Dude is a monster.
Timothy Artz the all of the band members are monsters

Has a strange kind of chugging rhythm. Great bassline on that track though
Tempo of the Damned is such a great album. Haven't listened to it in forever.
My favorite album, it's masterpiece. Greets
The three? minute solo in Forward March is THE ONE...
Gary Holt is the master of thrash metal riffs.
And after all these decades he can still write awesome, unique stuff. It's amazing.
I don't think so, I would say he is one of the masters along with Scott Ian, Jeff Waters, Jeff Hannemann...
I mean to told James Hetfield lol, but Jeff Hannemann too.
Impact is Imminent is the first song that comes to my mind when I think of tough Exodus songs. Great Job \m/
You Here?😂 I know you from the Razor Comments😂
@@dime4ever546 haha cool seeing you here
Insane riff. Reminds me of Deranged a bit
I feel like the whole album is underrated. It should have made them Titans.
Exodus called bro, they said you’re hired.
Brilliant! I'm glad that over the past several years, folks are finally showing appreciation for Gary Holt's skill as a guitarist.
Ibanez RG652AHMFX Prestige 2018, Nebula Green Burst. I did my research
i have never liked ibanez guitars spund very thin to me
DEATHAMPHETAMINE!!!!!
Really glad you gave the dukes era some love!
omgdarkfire Dukes was awesome! the best Thrash at the time! Shovelheaded Kill Machine was a beast of an album! Gary Holt is overlooked a lot too. He’s the OG of the Bay Area Thrash Sound!
I don't like Dukes but also appreciate him getting some appreciation
That transition from impact is imminent to scar spangled banner was smoooooth
Exodus is such a killer band! Flawless playing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘
Honestly I don’t think people realise how hard Scar Sprangled Banner actually is 😂
I thought so too! But Scar Spangled Banner is verry Hard because of the Downpicking like every riff on tempo!
Or how easy collateral damage is
Verbal Razors. Persona Non Grata. Brutal to learn.
Great tone, great riffs, great selection of songs and great tecnique on your picking hand. Exodus deserves so much more recognition. Keep on the good work.
Wow, the choice of songs on here is just insane. Well bloody done!
Anytime I see Exodus I stand at Gary Holts side and watch a pure Master at work, I haven’t seen better 🤘
Dude... THANK YOU for finally making this video!

Great work Hanninen. Keep it up!!
man...you always open with my favorite songs; get outta my head!
Your profile pic looks like Chuck Schuldiner had sex with Hitler and your profile pic is the baby
Great video mate love fucking Exodus!
Awesome selection, but I really missed Chemi-Kill, one of their best songs and riff!
That is excellent!
One of my favorite tunes but the riff isn't really that hard to play.
Timothy Artz main riff with the alternate is quite tricky
technically, that was written by Testament!
Awesome job with Scar Spangled Banner. I'm teaching myself how to play it right now and it can definitely be frustrating. I'm at around 85 percent speed. Bravo!
Amazing job, as always! I love your videos, really well edited. Could you do Overkill or Death Angel next please?
Next video could be Sodom hardest songs?
You nailed it, fantastic, best Exodus guitar cover ever, great player, killer picking, total respect!
Freaking awesome sound.. makes me want (need) to practice.

My absolutely #1 favourite band, thanks a lot for the video!
Que buenos videos todos los de HARDEST excelentes. Que buen trabajo!
Congrats, man ! Very precise and sharply played. I realized here how good were some of these riffs that among the production could not appreciate as much.
Man, you're SICK !

Wow, you started right out of the gates with my favorite Exodus song of all time: Verbal Razors!
Gary is a monster player, severely underrated by the masses
Ibanez 652AHMFX In nebula green finish. And it comes loaded with a Tone Zone in the bridge and Air Norton in the neck. I own this guitar as well 🤘🏽
Excellent playing and riff selections!

Amazing job on March of the Sycophants
It is an Ibanez Prestige RG652AHMFX-NGB you told us in some streamings 🙄🙄 hope all is going nice for you bro.
Well done ! There are more to add to your list.
Hey man nice playing. I have that same guitar and it looks and sounds incredible. The tone zone pickup in the bridge can do metal as you've clearly shown but sometimes I want to replace mine with something that has a bit more punch.
I didn't realize they kept making music so late, gonna have to go back and check it out
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦, that was awesome bud.
What about Hardest Gojira songs ?
Deliverance, space time, death of me, remembrance, backbone, from the sky, art of dying, wolf down the earth, the axe
Edit: Death of me middle section, backbone middle section, from the sky ending
The ones that have the most scraping.
The one with the most stolen morbid angel riffs
Really like this type of videos, could be the best way to acknowledge the certain band👍🏻🤘🏻
Yo man we need a part two. Don't forget funeral hymn that sh makes me wanna tear up the place
Best RUclips rhythm guitarist I've ever seen
Ibanez RG652AHMFX-NGB your videos are actually instrumental for me to buy this guitar and I cannot wait few days till I finally order it !
Ah mate you’ve made an old bloke smile. I’d forgotten how fuckin cool Exodus are. Awesome riffage.
March of the Sycophants has a fucking difficult riff and i love that, love the selection of tracks also i love this serie, nice
Nice, Open Season should be in pt 2!
Do Cannibal Corpse next?
Verbal razors is wild! It's like a thrash version of ACDC's Beating Around The Bush, and Brain Dead is a heavier Jail Break! Gary is a master of sneaky tritone riffs!

That transition from impact to scar spangled though
Your guitar is ibanez RG652AHMFX-NGB prestige nebula green burst
Love if you would break down verbal razors. That riff just kills.
It's definitely off the Ibanez RG652 series bc it looks just like the one that has been sitting in my wish list for the past couple months. ;____;
I never thought about the amount of work that goes into this videos until I saw the stream, keep it up bro
Btw, the guitar is a Ibanez rg652AHMFX
Noped out just before the actual hard bit of Verbal Razors
Your rhythm is spot on bro and you make it look easy! Love these vids
You should do “hardest solo on album”
Yes Yes Part 2 please!
