Smash has always been a game that is both accessible for everyone while also having an incredibly high skill ceiling, that's what makes it such a compelling fighting game. Kill confirms, jab locks, true combos, edge guarding, spacing, rolling, wake up options, parying (in ultimate) stage control, reads, movement, punishes etc are all things that you have to be adept at in order to play the game at a high level. Also, Melee has some of the hardest execution in any fighting game ever and only the best of the best thrive on that game.

Ive played Tekken and Smash in an intermediate level and i can say that kazuya in smash is represented very well.
He is probaly the hardest character in the game in Smash he is very high execution and relies on timing and prescision. That's why only 2-3 people play Kazuya in tournaments in smash.
He moves differently than any other character in the game which adds to his difficulty in execution.
Also some fun facts about the combos and his execution:
after you get an elecrtic in Smash with Kazuya you pretty much have to read were the opponent is going to fly towards, then the only thing keeping you from doing a 0 to death combo is our execution.
The input for the electric is not a just frame input , you have one extra frame to get it. So in Tekken its on the same frame and in smash you can be 1 frame late and you will still get it but that still requires a lot of execution.
aftert Kazuya reaches 100% then he enters rage were he unlocks the Rage drive heavens gate and when the zoom in happens it just means that he did a wavedash input before pressing the attack button. If you dont do it that way the move will be weaker , so again it rewards execution.
Generally for Kazuya to link jump punch into electric there is a 2 frame gap.
I hope answered some questions :D

    Hello mainman,
The edge guarding can be seen as the primary aspect of wake up in tekken. Just like wake up is a big important part in tekken, so is edge guarding in smash. Smash really is a technical fighter in high level just like tekken. You have much similarities if you look at it this way.
    There is:
    Spacing
Wake up decision making (edge guarding in this case being a bit harder than in tekkens wake up)
    Whiff punishing
    Combos
    Death combos
    Throws, throw breaks
    Parries and death parries
    Air floats
    Comeback potentials and even more

Love this, as a smash player turned Tekken player, this is one of my favorite videos, Smash Kazuya is weird compared to tekken kazuya, but its fun to see the difference between them, cool to see that you recognize the moves, cool thing is that some moves that kazuya has in smash wasnt even shown, which also comes from tekken, for example the quarter circle forward b input which is kazuya's 2 hit down forward 2 (I think, dont play kazuya that much in tekken) and other moves that he has that are also straight from tekken

Everyone argues about whether or not Smash is a true fighting game or a party game, and I think it's both. 1v1s or doubles are complex and fun to play, while 4 - 8 players with items and crazy stage hazards is always super fun. Smash found that perfect balance to satisfy both competitive and casual players, although I think the competitive side does need some work.

Kola is the opposite of "mindless aggro" - he is super agressive, but there is a lot of thought behind his moves. But rushing against Kazuya isn't good idea most of the time, and it really showed in this set.
On the side note, i couldnt help but nod when you were talking about "air movement" being important in Smash. The first time most "normal" FGC players try Smash, they tend to stand on the ground way too much. ;)

For you to understand a bit better:
Smash is about aerial movement and spacing a lot using your movement to either get in or keep the other one out, usually characters with swords or superior range are pretty strong (there’s exceptions obviously like donkey kong) the game also favors characters with good advantage states, advantage state is when you knock your opponent off of the stage and either edguard them or ledge trap them, a ledgetrap is when you knock someone off stage and you stage on stage to call or bait out one of the four options they came when grabbing the ledge wich would be normal get up ( your character just stands up on to the stage) a jump getup a roll getup (your character rolls on to the stage ending up kinda close to the center of it, the bad thing about rolling is that it’s easy to react to it even if you’re trying to cover other options) then there’s also a getup attack wich leaves you in the same position as a normal getup but your character does an attack that knocks the opponent away to center stage if it hits but it’s really laggy, so that’s ledgetrapping and edgeguarding, wich consist of advantage state again that’s when your opponent is in disadvantage state (off the stage and is trying to get back using their jump and up special and sometimes side special aswell), the reason as to why kazuya is indeed a high/top tier character is because he is slow in the air his recovery isn’t that good and has no range but he can kill you off of 5 different moves at 0% has combos/kill confirms at any % (usually ppl dude around 110 to 130% for reference) kazuya usually kills at around 60 to 80% if he didn’t combo you to death already but to do all the combos you need to have a massive understanding of the character and have to be able to do the input moves perfectly, also the reason as to why lives or stocks pretty much disappeared in games 1 and 2 is because Roy and kazuya are characters that get in and blow you up but games 3 and 4 is because cloud the character kola played in this games Is pretty much the definition of spacing so he doesn’t play as fast

In smash, life states are called stocks nd depending on the mu, stocks can go in the blink of an eye or can go on for longer.
There are 2 types of trapping:
    • There is edge guarding, which consists of trying to secure a stock while the opponent is off the platform.
    • There also is ledge trapping, consists of pressuring your opponent to stay in the corner/ledge so that you can move onto ledge trapping.
Kazuya is high risk, high reward due to that he is not the best in mobility and constantly relies on wave dash canceling and wavedashing to move around. Kazuya is also the most technical character in smash, having the most moves and his best move [Electric] having a tight frame window of 2 frames to perform.

Kazuya is one of the most difficult characters in the game to play well. Riddles makes him look easy. Kazuya has very low air mobility, his jump is slow, has some high commitment moves so is very punishable with alot of moves. But he is quite unique in the fact that if your execution is on point, he can be touch of death. Where basically if he gets his hands on u, he can straight up end your stock (one of your lives in smash bros). Riddles in particular is known for being amazing with these fighting game characters in the smash community.

18:15 That's actually what is called rage drive, when Kazuya gets to 100% he gets rage art and has access to it but can only ue it once. It does a lot of damage and knockback but if he's hit enough or tries to use it too many times he loses it. He also gets a little bit more damage on all of his attacks during rage art. Technically it can last forever, as long as he isn't hit enough or doesn't use it, it's indefinite, so you can't stall it out at all, so it will always be a massive threat as long as he has it. It's essentially a comeback mechanic that is also incredibly powerful
