Extra points :
(1) Always apply SUNSCREEN during the day. Always! It's important to double protect your skin from burning due ro using retinol while at night. Like Dr Jenny said, apply antioxidant serum to double up protection.
(2) Do NOT panicking when skin purging occurs. Back to basics skin routine (cleanse > moisturize > sunscreen). It's normal for retinol beginners to experience & experiment with skin purging at first. Remember that, retinol uglies you first, but after that it beautifying your skin much better after purging phase goes away!
(3) Do EXFOLIATE regularly. Retinol makes your skin cells turn over quite fast. So you need to exfoliate 2 or 3 times a week to clear away dead skin cells.
(4) Be kind to your skin. As mentioned in (1), use different kind of active ingredients when (e.g using antioxidant / hydrating serum with retinol moisturizer). For beginners, do not use retinol all at once! Choose between retinol serum or retinol moisturizer at first. After your skin acclimated to one, then add another. As for me then, I chose night moisturizer first, then 2 months added the serum after. Take it slow babe!

I've been using the Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 w/Peptide since last year and I love the results. I use it every night after cleansing my face and my skin is much smoother and hardly any fine lines but that may be my asian genetics too. I'm 54 years old and I do my daily skin care with other products as well. I do like the Olay products.
Can you please tell me if the bottle is made of glass or plastic?

@@xristinarose2409 it’s all plastic. Even the product feels like plastic. I prefer the neutragena range, and then after six months move to the prescription tretinoin and then your face will stop ageing.

You are amazing. Would love to hear a video on copper peptides and argireline which seem more talked about by chemists than dermatologists. I know the research isn't quite there (like tretinoin/retinoids) but with some claims I am hearing, I am intrigued to hear your take!
Same. I use The Ordinary Buffet with Copper Peptide before tretinoin each night. I use Asterwood’s Triple Repair in the morning after Vitamin C for Argirilene and Matrixyl 3000.

I use to think I couldn't afford tretinoin but I get the script from my regular Dr and I use a goodrx discount card at cvs and get it for around $46. Some of these drug store retinols are close to this price so I made the switch. I'll never look back.
If your skin can handle it, that's good. Mine can't so I am thankful for these creams that do wonder for sensitive skins.

Love this moisturiser and cN see a noticeable difference after a short time. It does appear to be making me break out though. How long should I persist before trying something else? And do you have a drug store alternative?

I’ve got atopic eczema. It flares up rarely though. But during a flare up my skin is sensitive, red and itchy. I’ve tried some retinoid products but none of them seemed to be suitable for my skin.
Is the Olay moisturizer suitable for me (considering my eczema)?
I use the light Olay moisturiser. So far no acne or dry patches and I SUFFERED with my skin! Try it out ☺️

I am dry/sensitive almost never get breakouts…..but I think this is causing tiny little surface whiteheads (still trying to figure out if it was this Olay product or the Cerave lotion that’s the culprit)
I'm also on the dry side and sensitive, almost never break out, but Cerave moisturising cream caused me those little bumps! I learned they’re called closed comedones, and Cerave creams or lotions can cause them if you’re prone to getting them. This Olay product actually helped clear them, since retinol helps with acne.
Now I just use the moisturising cream on my body without issues, so it didn’t go to waste! I also like the Cerave hydrating cleanser and don’t have issues, it’s just the creams and lotions that cause those.
I’ve seen others mention this with okays products. If this one isn’t working well for you, you can try other retinols, there are so many that are amazing in drugstores
I have the same skin type and love Olay because it’s the only thing that doesn’t irritate my skin or make it congested with little bumps. I have been using the night cream during the day my whole life and it’s super gentle and doesn’t break me out so I’m very inclined to guess it’s the other lotion. Did you try eliminating one to see the difference yet?

Dr can i use vichy 89 probiotic serum before olay retinol cream?
You mentioned that it isn’t appropriate for acne skin, but it could help with hyperpigmentation. Do you recommend we use it for this purpose for my son? He uses a niacinamide moisturizer in the evening. Would this be a good one to use instead for PIH?

I would avoid just in case. No need to have irritated skin on holiday:) if you’ve been using it regularly for a couple months and your skin is used to it it’s probably fine though but definitely skip if your skin is sensitive etc

I started using this retinol cream (first time retinol user) about a month ago. I apply every other night. After a month I noticed discoloration on my forehead. Is it due to retinol? I immediately stopped using retinol. How to fix this discoloration?

@@dr.jennyliu thank you. Because most derm says adapalene don’t scientifically use on anti aging. I’m already sensitive to adapalene. I hate having to get prescription. Trying to avoid it lol. But there are like apostrophe, nurx, cureology etc that describe tretnoin. Maybe I’ll resort to that. Love your videos.

@@marvz9387 it was for me regarding the red marks left after I would have an outbreak. But retinol I believe is better for preventing acne due to the skin cell turnover resulting in pores that are unclogged ☺️ So if you can maybe use both?

It didn't work my mom is more wrinkly than an unironed workshirt....
I used these products and I had a bad experience with it . Effected my eyes brows , my hair started shedding really bad , dull brittle. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone.

I believe the rejection of such products that are affiliated with the transgender movement is more about subjecting young children to sexual issues and creating gender disphoria at such a young age. Most people
