Man great video. Keep them coming. I was a jeep wrangler owner for 20 years. Several of my jeeps had a clogged hood cowl drain that caused water to leak in to the driver and passenger floor boards. You might check that first. It's an easy fix. I found puddles under the front mats every time it would rain or i'd run through a carwash. Unclogging the drains took car of it. And you might want to just run floor mats a while with no carpet to keep moisture from causing rust issues until the water issue is sorted out.
79 thump thanks for the info, I was thinking it has something to do with a hood drain or something similar to that. My old eclipse had a problem with water coming in the driverside floor.
Hopefully that works for you. I found videos of people unclogging the cowl on youtube and it saved me trips to the shop. Your floors look good. Didn't look like they had rust at all. So the water most likely hasn't been an issue long. Update if you get the chance.
I'm wondering why Jeep doesn't go the route that previous manufacturers have done and just get rid of the carpet for an all-vinyl flooring with drain plugs, even on their higher-end models.
Definitely run a BedRug or BedTred! I'm running a bedtred and it is mold proof and still has sound deadening properties. Mine was about $700 for the entire tub of my 4dr
I know this video was seven years ago. But I just bought a 2012 Jeep and this recent rain here it flooded in the front. So my plan it to rip out the carpet and spray it with truck bed liner. Did you go that route? Thank you for the video of the carpet removing Justin checked out your videos… I own a Ram Rebel too…. Jeep and Ram club!!!
What happens when the carpet is saturated and even if extracted - a lot of the nasty stuff just settles at the bottom- and is almost impossible to completely dry
great video!! i had mice get into my wrangler ( it is NASTY!!!) i think im going to just throw away the carpet and go with floor mats or something else instead. thanks.
@@CanadianChihuahuafamily my 2014 does the same thing and I’ve seen where it’s due to a seal in the door jamb that can be reinforced with camper tape. Let me find the video link and get back to you
@@CanadianChihuahuafamily I did it today and sprayed it with a garden hose, a hose jet attachment and even pulled out a pressure washer to really put it to the test and there wasn’t a drop coming in through my doors into either side’s floor pans. I paid 7 dollars in total for 10 feet of window sealer at Lowe’s and wrapped it around my inside door seals and the leaky rubber gasket on both sides and no more water gets into my tub in any way. Very quick fix and is worth the money for sure.
OMG that underside /gross! deff one of the last things i would've checked before taking a used JK off the lot. eventually line the inside yea but for now, i agree, wash those mats w/some gnarly stuff and hung those bad boys out to dry lol
PSA!!!! If you have a 18’ Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport, take the carpet out and just use the floor mats that came with the jeep. Better aesthetic, never have to worry about carpets smelling ever again, and draining your car literally takes a minute at the maximum. Your welcome!!!! Keep it duckin’
Cool video. I am considering removing my carpets and replacing them with bedtred. If I was you. I would have tossed that carpet in the trash. Also. Why do you have the music playing in the background. It's annoying and hard to listen to you with music playing

WOW I've heard of them but never actually seen a two wheel drive Wrangler! DO NOT RHYNO LINE ANYTHING! PUT THAT DIRTY CARPET BACK IN THERE AND TRADE THAT DAMN THING IN FOR A 4WD!!!!

Wow!!! I didn’t know this was possible! Thankyou for filming. All car carpeting sucks. Almost isn’t even made to be vacuumed.
I used your video to tear apart my carpet on the front passenger side to find a missing key and I found it, thank you so much! Subbed

Good video brother; I'm doing that. I can't park level and when we get that Smoky Mountain Rain it leaks
Thank you so much for showing me how to remove it. I'm kinda scared to see what's under mine
Roberto Maldonado it’s gonna be gross
I'm afraid to see what color my water is whenever I use my carpet scrubber....

Ima do this with my Jeep but ima just remove the carpet completely & just leave the all weather floor mats I have on top of the carpet.
Looks like I'm going to replace my carpet also. Good video thanks.
My 2017 wrangler stays soaking on the passenger side all the time
MINE TOO. Any idea why?

I'm curious what a 2wd jeep wrangler looks like on the front suspension. Can you post something showing that?
Richard_67 I can do that.
Any advice on how to make the stock carpet liner (what you took out) to stay put? Mine comes out and bunches up
My jeep is exactly the same the passenger side is soaked underneath the rugs
yeah it's no fun!
Now I have something to do while I’m in quarantine. I’m really scared what I’m going to find underneath my carpet in my Jeep 😭🤮
That liquid is your heatercore leaking coolant. A bitch to replace the right way. But google the way around replacing without pulling out your dash
I took mine out and found the original title from when my jeep was first purchased by the first owner
Thanks for the video! Is that a 2wd wrangler!? Never seen one!
Yup it is lol
@@OmegaGreedAK47 wow! Really! How's that set up in the front suspension!? I would love to see that!

Nice video. It will help when I remove the carpets from my TJ.
Cernawain that’s what I was think 😂😂
I found a tiny wooden cross under my carpet under the leg of my chair. Kinda creepy so i just put it back there
Good video. Thanks!
That looks like a soda spill. Stained and sticky. Thanks for the vid.
Great video! Thanks! ✌️
I was about to cut my carpet to get to the plugs until i saw this
I am doing this tomorrow!! Awesome v

nyc_jeep_wrangler thanks, I was trying a different style of having the music playing during the whole video. Guess I'll try something different again.
