- Nuchinunde is a traditional recipe from Karnataka. This is generally served for Breakfast. It is a very healthy recipe with the goodness protein and green leafy vegetables. It is quite filling too !
Ingredients
Tuvar Dal 1/2 cup (pigeon pea lentils)
Channadal 1/2 cup
Green chillies 4-5
Coriander leaves
Curry leaves
Methi Leaves(fenugreek)
Salt to taste
Grated coconut 1/2 cup
For majjige Huli
Curd 1 cup
Turmeric powder a pinch
For masala
Coconut oil 1 Tbsp
Mustard seeds1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
methi seeds 1/8 tsp
Coconut grated 1/4 cup
Coriander seeds 1 Tbsp
Tuvar dal 2 Tsp

This nuchinunde recipe is very old traditional one and very healthy
As u said rightly this is served with ghee and ash guard majjige huli.
We can add little jeera and ajvan to nuchinunde before steaming. Thanks for sharing such a good recipe👌🙏💐

Very nice and traditional recipe of karnataka, on auspicious day of nagarpanchami it is must lunch in every ppl house in karnataka, majjige huli is another such one, which is household name in karnataka

Wow, nuchchinunde is my fav. I can eat it any time of the day. You have shown how to eat it which is the best part of this video. Also thank you for showing the rest of India that South Indian cuisine is not only dosa n idli but much more. Being a kannadiga i would like to share another good way to enjoy it. Take some steaming hot rice, pour a little ghee on top of it and break two three nuchchinundes n mix all three well n enjoy this rice with majjigehuli as a side dish. It tastes heavenly!!!! N methi leaves, dil leaves, cabbage or onions finely chopped ...any of these can be added to the ground mixture before steaming. Each one will give different taste :)

Same recipe I too follow. We use to prepare this dish on vinayaka chaturthi. You are right. We use dil leaves in bangalore. I have never tried with fenugreek leaves. Will try for sure.

Wonderful recipe. Adding a tablespoon of soaked ground urad dal to the batter can bind the unde better. Also fresh coconut is not easily available in all parts of India. Can dessicated dry coconut replace fresh coconut?

Very nice evening tea snack item. My mother used to make similar Undhes for Huli / Gojju. Instead of vegetables she used to immerse these undhes in Huli / Gojju before serving the lunch.

My home made ghee was not a success for the whole milk became curds.may be the weather in the UK is not suitable for it.I got no butter milk the whole thing was like thick curd.Thank you Mrs Gita .I love the way you cook very homily I feel feel.
Sounds great! the milk will turn into thick curd. We have to remove the top layer of cream and store in the fridge everyday
