  • An insightful documentary by filmmaker Yoav Shamir. I uploaded this because I find it to be a good example of how fighting racism can sometimes become a self fulfilling prophecy. RUclips will probably have a problem with this, but hopefully not since I don't have a large subscriber count.
There is a notable scene where some Israeli students are on a trip to Poland and 3 older gentleman are overheard wondering where the foreign students come from. They couldn't understand each other and the students assumed these men were racially insulting them and being hateful. This is likely because the entire premise laid out in the trip is to see how much everyone hates them, and that they will surely be the victims of hatred at every corner. Another important insight was the explanation that it may possibly cause an individual to become less empathetic to the suffering of others, if they themselves have become over saturated with an idea of suffering. The example given by one student was being desensitized to an Arab home being demolished for Jewish settlement because of how minimal that tragedy is compared to the Holocaust.

Thank you so much for putting this on your channel.
Dunno if you're Jewish, but I'm technically half Jewish, and Torah observant, so Shalom to you, my dude.

that's why in the end polish authorities prohibited such trips. And the hotels don't want to have them, as they usually damage hotel rooms and stuff. someone had to put an end to this madness. Shin bet guarding israeli kids were even allowed to have firearms on them, but they misused this right several times too, threatning random people with these.
