    Let’s be real, nobody wants to spend £10,000 more, unless they love the styling £10,000 more.
    Has Ducati got reliability now?
    That has been an issue in the past.
    Make no mistake, The ohlins suspension on the Ducati is infinitely better than BMW”s & worth the extra £10,000 on its own ima.
    Great suspension is no good if your bike breaks down though.
    I had a brand new 916 Ducati back in the day and it’ stretch ed my young man finances, to the max, so I was so disappointed to see the ongoing servicing costs were so high.
    Would have been good if this video included such things as service cost/intervals, but otherwise fantastic video. Thank you so much for all the technical information 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    You got to be a very, very competent rider that does track days to appreciate the little extra bits that the Ducati gives.
    I ride the current gen 3 S1000R only had it 9 months, on the road it is extremely well sorted in every aspect and I can vouch that it’s new big brother will be amazing so knowing that I would stick with BMW.

      I also have the S1000R M pack 2022 and for a really very very good driver it's already enough by far. And for everyday conveniencies, heated grip, hill start control, petrol gauge or keyless ignition are very handy. I would stick to BMW to keep all this and have the extra 45 HP

    It's about the specs asuch it's about how a particular bike makes u feel and is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and for me it's the M, nice video btw 👍

    I've owned a 2016 s1000rr that was slightly modified, had a full titanium arrow exhaust with k&n filter and tune plus 520 chain and sprocket, absolutely loved it to bits. A good friend of mine was kind enough to loan me his 8000km old v4s streetfighter for a week, it too had a full titanium exhaust and tune. To be honest I found the ducati streetfighter abit of an awkward bike, not to say that it's bad but I'd take an s1000rr or s1000r over a v4. The v4 doesn't ride smoothly and low rpm, it's very jerky, the clutch has a weird bite point and it had a very awkward riding position, I just couldn't get comfy on it, it rattles and vibrates alot too, i found after abit of a short ride i couldnt feel my hands and feet and after having a pillion on both bikes the v4 is very uncomfortable. My 2016 s1000rr although not anywhere near as good as the newest m1000r I found far more comfy and it rides smoothly whether it's slow or fast it just does it with no complaints. For anyone who is looking to buy either bike, test ride both first, I'm certainly sticking with the bmw and will certainly upgrade to an m1000 given the chance

      I have 5500 mile on my 22 duc streetfighter and the power delivery is amazing super smooth down low and loads of power up high the bike is extremely easy to ride hard in canyons and is decent in a straight line compared to fully faired bikes. I find it comfortable being I'm 5"9 170 lbs. The issue for me is reliability though my duc has been in the shop 4 times for almost a month each time this is with me doing early services and ensuring my bike is in good condition before going for a rip. I'm picking up an m1000r ASAP for this reason. Bmw might not be bullet proof as I've had friends with issues but far less than anyone I know who actually rides ducs 2000 mi + a month

    • @SR22VET-S15
      @SR22VET-S15 Год назад +3

      @USMC177597 that's odd, I actually found the duc very clunky down low. It certainly didn't like being ridden through heavy traffic. I found that it didn't like anything under 20mph, not that you'd buy a bike like that to ride slowly, but if you are looking to commute with it, it wasn't great, especially in heavy traffic. Also I'm 5'2 and 185lb very stocky built, I found the handle bar positioning far too forward for me and the pegs sat high and far back, so reaching for the handles while having to tuck my feet back in a weird and awkward position. Certainly not the bike for me after having ridden both. For me the ride quality in the s1000 takes the win and also the fact that the price of a 2nd hand duc will get you a brand new s1000. As my comment above, take what I say with a grain of salt, it's purely my opinion based on my preference, anyone buying either bike should definitely go on a test ride

    • @USMC177597
      @USMC177597 Год назад +1

      @SR22VET I see some tunes reducing low rpm engine response but I've taken the bike through police cone course at low-speed with no issues, the traffic part is most definitely true the bike get hot faster than most but I just lane split to avoid that issue. I think the ergos are really about your individual dimensions cuase I know shorter folks who complain about the wind. I have a back injury and would say I have longer than normal arms so for me it's just right lol.
      The s1000rrs I've ridden feel fast as hell and smooth but seem kind of lifeless so I'm hopping the low end torque bias gearing and similar power figures will make it a similar grunty experience as the streetfighter. Electronics and brakes feel a bit more primo (the rear slide entry is intuitive and usable if you ride hard ) on the duc but I will say all of my experience on s1000rr is with a 2016 stage 2

    • @SR22VET-S15
      @SR22VET-S15 Год назад

      @USMC177597 if you unlock the slick mode and get a tune for the s1000, it will definitely wake it up. I've back to back ridden a friend's s1000 that did not have slick mode unlocked and was also not tuned. They definitely are abit lifeless, they're dyno graphs show a dip in torque and power in the mid range and seem to taper off in the top end too. Regardless, both bikes are great, will come down to personal preference and no regular folk will be able to extract 100% out of these bikes anyway. Enjoy the bike and stay up right 👍🏿

      @SR22VET-S15 Год назад +1

      @USMC177597 BTW referring to your previous comment, I rode my s1000rr daily to work, up to 500kms a week, approx 2000kms a month. Bought it with 14,000kms and sold it on 40,000kms a year later, i also hit the canyons almost every weekend with highway runs to top it off. Started first go everytime, just the regular 10,000km service intervals along with regular chain maintenance every 500 odd kms and the 30,000km major service

    still choose street fighter v4sp2 because it is more aggressive, v4 characters are better than inline4.

    I would rather choose the v4/s to compare to sp2, I really love streetfighter v4 because it's really light compared to m1000r, bmw is really good, but it's heavy

      Oil leaks, waterpump broke, electrical issues, poor dealer support, parts take forever from Italy.
      Now have an S1000R…not touching anything Italian other than food😂 anymore

      inline engines are BMWs endgame. They are one of the best engines you can buy. It doesn’t matter if it’s an inline 4 or an inline 6. There is a reason why BMW sticks to this engine type. The power output of a BMW inline engine is brutal, although they run really smooth and sophisticated at the same time.
