I buy mine from Windy Point in Canada, even though I'm in the USA. [Minnesota, so I'm practically in Canada :-) ] The prices are excellent after you convert the currency, and shipping is not too bad. If you're on the west coast, Voyageur is a good place to look as well. It's pretty easy to find ingredients in the USA ... we're very lucky.
There are no ingredients in here that are sensitive enough to pH to require testing, though you're certainly welcome to check if you want (and will have to if you use a more pH sensitive preservative). Happy making!

@@twinkle8347 Hmm. So, glyceryl stearate is glyceryl stearate (or monostearate). BUT that is not what is used in this formulation-this formulation uses Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, and that AND is really important. Think of it a bit like the difference between NaCl (sodium chloride aka salt) and just Cl (chlorine). You wouldn't try to use chlorine instead of salt, and you cannot use glyceryl stearate instead of Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, even though half of that ingredient (roughly) is glyceryl stearate. Off video topic question. On an earlier video on how to make beard balm you recommend BTMS-50. I can easily find BTMS-25 but the 50 version seems rare. If found only one place on the web and it was expensive. Why does it seem to be so rare and can you recommend a few places in the United States that supplies it? P.S. I love your channel and look forward to making many of your DIY recipes.
Hey! You'll find the answers you're looking for in the Humblebee & Me Encyclopedia at www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia. Simply look up the ingredients in question to learn about why they are used in formulas, what they do, where to buy it, and more. Happy making!
I buy mine from Wholesale Supplies. Not too bad price wise and it's worth it because it's freaking great.
Wholesale Supplies and Brambleberry both sell BTMS-50
Lotioncrafter sells it as well.
Can we add xanthum gum to distilled water in this recipe to keep the structure ?
There is no need to, the solid fats more than do that!
I made it but it’s winter here and it has become very thick after some days what can I change in recipe that it not hardens
Could you add cocoa powder in this recipe?
You could, but it would make the product much more likely to leave brown smears on clothes, sheets, furniture, etc.
Is that the same as Glyceryl Stearate Citrate?
No. When ingredients have different INCI names, they are different :)
Hi my dear ..you didn't use preservative in this body butter.. why dear ?
I most definitely do, starting at 07:08.
I don't use water or synthetics
Can you add btms 50 to this?
do you think a hydrosol would be fine instead of water if I wanted to try that?
Generally yes-please read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/what-can-i-use-instead-of-water/. Happy making!
Hi don't we need to check the ph level since there's water in the recipe? Or since its a body butter its fine not to? Thanks!
There are no ingredients in here that are sensitive enough to pH to require testing, though you're certainly welcome to check if you want (and will have to if you use a more pH sensitive preservative). Happy making!
Hi this is Riekie what dit you put in after you put the buters and whater together
He Riekie! Please read the blog post; everything is detailed and written out there. It's linked in the description box below the video ;) If you're not sure what that means, read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.

Hi Marie, I'm wondering what would you reduce to make this work in a pump bottle? Please respondxx
That's a bit like asking what you'd reduce in a cake to make it a smoothie-it'd be a ton of really fundamental changes :) I'd recommend this formulation instead: www.humblebeeandme.com/heavenly-cocoa-lotion/. Happy making!
@@HumblebeeAndMe Thank you so much!
Can I use only glyceryl stearate? I am not getting glyceryl stearate and peg 100 stearate. What difference it will make??
No; if you do that, the formulation will completely fail. Please read the blog post & Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) entry on the emulsifier to learn more. Happy making!
Where did you get your beautiful cloth?
It was a gift from a friend ❤️
Can i use olivem 1000 instead of Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate ?
No; if you do that, the formulation will completely fail. Please read the blog post & Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) entry on the emulsifier to learn more. Happy making!
@@HumblebeeAndMe Thank you for reply.
Can I recommended you to make video for making Satsuma body butter? I'm really like satsuma scents especially from body shop but I'm confused to chose the best ingredients for make it.
I have glyceryl stearate and emulsifying wax, can i mix it?
No, that is not the same thing I used. PLEASE refer to all the resources linked in the blog post!
hii...how to make matte facial moisturiser...let me knw
Hey! You’ll find what you’re looking for quite easily on my blog 🙂
If you visit humblebeeandme.com/search and search for "mattifying", it should pop right up.

I liked the way you made it and explained it.. however when I made this, the experiment failed miserably... it got so thick in first churn I couldn’t churn the next time. Whereas yours got thickened in the 3rd round... don’t know what went wrong. Used the exact measurements as you wrote. Can you please help identify the reason for failure?
It sounds like you used a different emulsifier-that's my best guess. Do the INCIs for all of your ingredients match perfectly?
can you suggest any natural water in oil emulsifier, dont want to use PEG
Not for this formulation-I talk about this pretty extensively in both the post and video :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe yes you have shared blog about lecithin but only with oil components, I want to see and read about the role of Lecithin in O/w and W/O emulsification.
Is this glyceryl stearate same as glyceryl mono stearate? GSM? The one we use to make ice creams?
Please read up on the emulsifier in the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) + in the blog post :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe I read and now I am more confused than before 😶 can please help me out?
I recommend reading through these posts as well: www.humblebeeandme.com/how-to-research-your-ingredients-part-1 & www.humblebeeandme.com/how-to-research-your-ingredients-part-2.

@@HumblebeeAndMe yes this helps a lot! Thank you! One more question, the recipe I got uses glyceryl mono stearate and cetyl alcohol, so are they okay? I mean what would you say?
Where can I purchase the Shea butter ?
I always link all the ingredients for any given formulation in the blog post, which is linked in the description box below the video (that's one of the many reasons I highly suggest reading the blog post as well as watching the video! If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.).
Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop.

How do I change the ingredients to make 8oz of this?
She lists the percentages of each ingredient in the recipe. The recipe makes 100g which is a little over 3 oz. If you just double the recipe you will end up with 200g which is basically 7oz
Is this considered a cosmetic?
Yes.
When I re measure my hot water, the number keeps going up. Is that not normal or is it bc the vase is still hot?
It sounds like your scale might be malfunctioning due to having something really hot on it-try putting a hot pad between the measuring cup and scale, ensuring the hot pad is tare'd as well :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe Thank you!!!! :D
I thought PEG’s were bad?
They're really not. Like many things we use regularly, they have the potential to be harmful (like milk before it's been pasteurized or water before it's been treated), but the risks are well known and extremely carefully controlled. You can learn more here: cosmeticsinfo.org/ingredient/peg-100-stearate :)
What’s its shelf life
