Maybe sunlight is better than grow lights for the blooms. Better late than never! I like the vlog format! We’ve had very erratic weather changes as well, and lots of rain over here in Maryland. 🌵😀💕
Great video and it's nice to get to wander around the garden with you checking up on your cactus. I too have a shelf or random dumping ground for the odd cactus or too that need extra attention.. Its just one of those things that happens to everyone. Cactus are very specific and suddenly at the drop of a hat they die or suddenly look different the next day... I look at every one of my plants everyday and they are full of surprise... Thank you for showing your poorly cactus and definitely do not throw that Gymnocalycium away!! 😲😲🤣 I adore cactus with battle scars and they have a story to tell and are survivors, they are as beautiful as the next one in your collection. Great first Vlog. 😘😍👍👌🌞😎
Aww. Thank you so much for your great thoughts. Yes, my cacti have many “battle scars”. 😉 Can’t help it cause they are all outside. I can only pray that they are all tough enough to withstand them. 💪🏻🌵
Awesome video Ana, I like the idea of the VLOG format 😃👍🏻 I think it was me that told you to discard that Gymno 😬 Sorry, I take that back 😂 But it looks a little better than it did when you showed me. Enjoyed the video as always Ana, from Edith & myself, have a wonderful day and weekend 😊☀️🌵🌼🌸🌺🏜☕️
I agree. I like Vlogs too but I like all your videos. Just keep up the positivity in all these videos. The Gymno in the sick bay has healed. Your fungicide and patience worked! Great to see it looking much better than when we first saw it. These plants are resilient. thanks for sharing with us, Ana. Ingat lagi. ❤️🤗🙏🌵🌸🌼🌺🥰❤️
Thank you to you both! That gymno is still not showing any growth from the top. But I’m happy to see a sign of life through its bud. I think I just need to wait until it forms pups because the growing point on top seems already damaged by the fungus. I’m still keeping it isolated. 🙂
So many cacti 🌵 🌈 I wonder whats the name of the cactus in the black rounded pot you can see at 9:25. The one with coppery spines looks like one of my cacti! It would be nice to have an id for it. Thanks and keep up the good work! I liked this new format 🌞
Love your Vlog,as always your bloomers are gorgeous.Btw,i have the Donaldiana and right now it is the one that has the most buds and are doing some kind of superbloom even at 104 degrees here 😅😅😅
I love Cacti and grow them here in the UK. It's good to see how people grow them in other countries. I would like to see more on this subject and learn what you do with them in the winter and what temperatures you have to cope with. Interesting video, Thanks.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I find it also interesting how people in different parts of the world grow these desert plants despite living in a non-desert climate. 🙂🌵☕️ Cheers from Las Vegas to UK!
Today’s your inspection day LOL 🥰 and we all got to follow you around your incredible cacti backyard. I don’t have any preference and will just continue to watch your videos. But must conclude that I love all your cacti collection. 👍🌺💐🌸🌼🍀
This is a FANTASTIC Vlog video Ana and I really LOVE Vlog videos, its so good to share on a day to day basis what you do with looking after your cacti, and so fantastic to hear your tips on how you look after them, and there is always so much to do with our plants every day, all your plants are looking so beautiful too, thanks so much for sharing Ana and YES day to day Vlog vids will be AMAZING :-D Have a wonderful plant powered Saturday ahead, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and CACTUS POWER to Las Vegas from across the Emerald Isle XXXXX
Aww, Tim. You don’t need to watch the ads. I’m just happy to see you here. RUclips sometimes posts ads that are longer than the video itself! It’s ridiculous. Lol!
@@CactusCaffeine No its ok...that's what I do. But you're right. Today I watched from a distance in the kitchen a close friend of mine her video of 10ish minutes and it had 16 plus minutes of ads ....😂😂😂😂
I love the Vlog! I'm a newish subscriber and you give such helpful information. You're very honest about your successes and failures. I'm not a fan of people that don't show failures. We ALL have them. Also, I have a hard time throwing away any plants that still have life too.
Great video! I just woudn't put the variagated sunburnt opuntia there because it can pick up the diseases of the other opuntias, it is healthy and not infectious, it should be put just somewhere in shade, but now since it has been there I would take it out of there and to other secluded location and put in quarantine just to be sure it was not contaminated and then put back with other healthy cacti after at least 2 weeks of watching. Other then that everything you do is awesome! Xxx
I love garden vlogs. Our gardens look different day to day. Sometimes even from morning to night. That's what I love getting out in the morning and seeing what's new. I like seeing your routine or what you are dealing with that day. I even enjoyed seeing the dead plants. Not that that's good but we all lose plants, even the experts. It's part of our maintenance. Wow your Mexican fence posts are lovely and so cool your husband accidentally uncovered a pup. It's nice to see a short over view. So yes I hope you continue these. Funny enough I want to try to do more specific videos as I do too many sweeping vlogs I think.
Great video!!! I've had a couple of my seedlings dry up also, I think they didn't like making the transition from light to sun when I moved them into the greenhouse. My goldens are doing well but lost a couple of ferocactus seedlings. From Morris park in the Ozarks , have a great weekend!!! Peace,Love,Plants✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌸🌿🌻
Greetings Ana i have 🐝 watching your videos for a while now, my question to you is, How do you know which cactus to plant in gravel from soil. I love cactus I myself have a few, however I only see one bloom only once, and I would love to get more information, by the way I'm a coffee lover as well, thanks for the update I'm looking forward for your vlogs
Thank you Anna! I got into cacti 2 years ago, and I love your passion! I live in Oklahoma City and been collecting for two years. One question, I recently bought a echonopsis hybrid and it says propogation is prohibited! What does this mean?
Bending, it could be reaching for the light or just too dehydrated. But some cacti will bend because of age. If you are bothered, you can always put a stake to support them.
Anna, how long does it take for a cactus bud to bloom? I have two cactuses that have buds for over a month and they don't grow or bloom. One of them (Easter Lily) has bloomed recently twice but it didn't take so long. They stay at my window where it's sunny
Mihaela Joe different types of cactus develop their buds at different speed. Your temperature is also a factor. Most cactus flowers last only for a few days to a week. Some Echinopsis (Easter Lily) are night bloomers and they close only after a night of blooming. Maybe you have one of those night bloomers. 🙂
Oh I've seen my Easter Lily flowers, they were gorgeous! Too bad they're blooming just for a day. I think my cactus is just lazy these days 😂 I'll just wait and see! 😘
I think your albucca spirals should be planted deeper in its pot. All the ones I've seen have just the tip of the bulb showing if anything at all. I have grown it for many years. It looks like you have the bulb mostly exposed.
We have had high temps for weeks now. Last 2 days was 102 and today should be hotter. I would have my albucca in a very shady area. Mine is in the house awaiting repotting. Your high temps would just dessicate the bulb.
Thank you! I followed your suggestion and repotted it in a bigger pot so I can plant it deeper. I am happy and surprised to discover so many new roots underneath! My spiralis is alive! 😃 I can’t wait to see its leaves. I also have it in shade. 👍🏼
Chris. Vervloet, thank you for your feedback. True, during summer season my cacti are a bit on the dehydrated side and many go dormant again. 107F and humidity level is less than 10% almost everyday. 🥵
@@CactusCaffeine Well in that case it would be better to use plastic containers because they don't dry out as quickly as the clay pots when watered. Bending, it could be reaching for the light or just too dehydrated. But some cacti will bend because of age. If you are bothered, you can always put a stake to support them.
My succulents aren't doing good in the winter months.... I'm just gonna stick with the crassula string of buttons and the hawarthia types.

Hilo, ate I have a question. What are the early signs of sunburn on cacti?
Hope somebody sees this!
Discoloration. Sometimes white to yellow at first then eventually turns brown. Usually only on the side that is facing the sun and not all over.
@@CactusCaffeine Exactly what happened to mine, I moved it to a less sunny place. Anything else I can help it?
Pray! 🙏🏼 🤣 Just make sure to keep it away from other sick plants. With the recent sunburning, your plant will be vulnerable.
