The white flower variety has huge flowers 15 cm across. I grow them in hanging baskets. I usually forget to fertilize my smaller desert cacti. I sometimes use a weak solution of orchid fertilizer.

Here's a tip that works great for me, whether it's watering or liquid fertilizing. I use a turkey baster for my cactus dish gardens, and no-drainage containers. They usually have measurements on them, so you control the amount of liquid. You also control the placement at a particular plant. That helps me as some mixed gardens will require different watering needs. Love your tips and going to try them, thx for the great content--

In Vietnam, we discovered by accident that exposed the dragon fruit plants, which are belong to cactus family, to candle lights or any electrical lights at night. they produced a lot more flowers, which then become fruits. Vietnamese farmers raised pigs and at night, we have to feed the pigs, and the area near the pigs need to be lighted all the time, and we don’t know why the dragon fruit cactus near the light pigs area produce much more flowers.
That is why if anyone ever travels to Vietnam, one can see lot of farmers growing dragon fruit would have lights at night. Thanks for your tips. I am now living in the US, I watched your RUclips mainly to produce more dragon fruits...PS. Beside Dragon fruit are very tasty and extremely nutritious, and very expensive at the store. Their flowers are super beautiful, look just like dragon when fully bloom.

Absolutely it will inspire them 😊 I maybe got lucky with mine blooming indoors, but they did get a good winters rest in a cold room.
Had my first bloom in the greenhouse today though with my Neochilenia 😊

Simbang gabi?! Haha. Oo nga ano. Thanks Edith. Let us spread the passion on cactus! I wish the millennial generation will get into cactus, too as much as they are into succulents right now.
