@@michaelperkins3003 I'm sorry, this is the dad's fault now? nobody, at any sporting event, should have to worry about getting hit by a flying projectile going incredibly fast. A lot of the time you can't even see the puck, and when you do you have little to no time to react. Also, like I said, the puck is going incredibly fast. Dozens of miles per hour. If the father had, miraculously, been able to evaluate the situation, then putting his hand out to stop the puck would simply force his hand into the kids face.
@readytotaxi Yes, Dad fault. Have you ever been to a game? Very few EVER make it into the crowd. It IS possible to follow the puck at all times. One time in 50 years that I have been going to games, did one come my way and myself and another guy deflected it. This is only impossible if slamming bears and being on the phone is a bigger priority. I have seen ppl CATCH pucks, because they were paying attention to why they were there in the first place.
I was at a game in Pittsburgh back in the 80's when the Habs were in town. LaFleur was on a rush and let loose a slapshot that careened off the goalie, into the seats behind the Penguins net. Hit some guy in the head (I heard it cracked his skull). He was taken to the hospital. I believe it was reported that LaFleur went to the hospital after the game and signed the puck for him. :)
