I have the same machine and the filament seems to have worn a notch in the hole that the filament inters the extruder housing. I think that the filament is now getting stuck a bit and causing under extrusion. Do you have a fix for that?
Yeah I could see that happening, I would suggest either installing a PTFE hose the filament can travel through, or 3d print a guide that keeps the filament more vertical so it doesn't get pulled.
Did your newer machine also come with a bunch of holes for side panels, and a door? I just scored a deal on one, $200 and it only had a burnt out power supply. Very odd since it has only about 19 hours print time.
19hrs is pretty good. I'm surprised the power supply is bad, have you already tested it? It could just be the main wire came loose. One one of these videos I compared different versions that came out. But all of them are going to have the holes for their $100 enclosure kit that you can buy
@@CarolinaCowboys Yeah, usually you can smell the magic blue smoke if it escapes, and it basically just smelled brand new. Not the highest level of examination, but it had power to the terminals, just not doing anything with it. May have a fuse inside that blew, but I have yet to examine it further. I do hope to get it working too, but they are fairly cheap to replace. I also cranked all the amps up to 1.3, and that eliminated all of the stalling issues, along with realignment of the extruder cross rails. Even the extruder was underpowered. I saw mention of poor cooling on the board, but that can easily be improved. All in all I am very pleased with it, and completed its first test print last night.
I know this has been over a year ago, but i am working with wanhao D6. I am getting globbing on the first layer and i thought maybe it was because i was printing too hot. I see your print temps are much higher. I was printing at 205 cc and you are saying 220 cc works better? Also, i notice you have a glass bed and mine is magnetic. How do i adjust for the height of the glass? I hope you and your family are doing well during this pandemic. Last question: can i get that custom fan blower and what did you print it with? ABS, PLA, PETG?
Hi, I've been good, working from home like so many others. So far I've always used PLA, different brands but I've noticed a big difference with higher quality like Hatchbox. My temps were based on the brand of PLA I was using but usually I print between 205-215. If your first layer is not setting down, you might need to adjust the bed slightly lower. This took alot of trial and error for me because mine was higher in the middle and lower on the sides, so I used clips in different places to even it out.
