The game looks really interesting!! Your choice of atmosphere and idea is very good!! Maze, flashlight, darkness, spider... I don't know if you will like my idea but, since the player is in a dark maze and the monster is a spider, try adding some crackling sounds that will make the player shiver with the spider suddenly appearing for example on one of the walls or above the player's head... This will create an atmosphere of discomfort for the player especially for those who have a phobia of spiders... After that the spider starts chasing the player to make him very uncomfortable... Simply rely on making the player uncomfortable more than scaring him with Jumpscares
@@taaouttgaming I have similar approach! Im trying to use no (or one at the end) jumpscares, and just make the player panic constantly because they feel seomthing is lurking for them. And great idea about the crackling sounds! Ill definitely use it 😄
Very cool concept! Reminds me of It Steals. I can see how much work you've put in this video, the editing is good, but as advice I would try being more articulate, its sometimes hard to hear what you are saying. If you need any playtesters let me know I'd be happy to try the game out! Keep up the good work (:
@@r8teful I know that it looks like it steals, especisly when there is the running away when seen feature 😭😭 but when I will work more on the graphics and all, I hope it will have its own special character. And sure! Ill be happy to have someone to test it out when it is ready!!
'Ey~! This looks like a promising lil' game. Just a point to bear in mind though: Don't get too hung up on scaring the player every way possible. What keeps a lotta horror's more "core" fans after a while is less so the scares but rather the general atmosphere, the story (where applicable at least) as well as the gameplay. This is what keeps old Resident Evil & Silent Hill discs spinning in PS1's to this day; they're solid enough in their own right even once a player is way past being scared by them. (Also, if you need a hand with proof-reading or so in this game, I'm willing to help. I'm a native English woman.)
@@pseudonym6895 thanks for the advice! Im actually planing to spawn randomly on the map, some, a litle bit goofy, old gramophones that will play a 19s old songs, that i hope will brake the ice and give players some time to rest and think about their next move! And thank u for your proposition, ill let u know when ill need some like that first! 😄😄
Funny how he shit on horror games And makes something what is absolutly terrible and has no horror elements what so ever Mabey learn development before you shit on other games😂😂
@@FlockersDesign hey! I get Your point. I didnt do much progress in this devlog, especially when Im learning how to code and use all the softwares with in making this game, but as i said in this devlog im focusing only on code, and all the assets and looks are shit indeed. I dont expect my game to be revolutionizing or anything like that, im just trying to spread the word that new devs are capable of much more then just assets flips. If You could give any feedback and tips on how should the ai behave or anything you seen here (besides the graphics, map etc) ill be happy to make changes and make smth better!
you're an underrated game dev, i hope u survive going through the "idk anything and it's getting complex" phase and just stop working on the game!
I love the way it goes on the walls
