To quote you ‘put your big pants on’ I have had to do just that since mum passed away. Mum used to wash my woollen garments, bless her. I am getting quite good at it now. Thank you for being you. Cheers 🥂
I always use Eucalan no rinse wool wash for my hand knitted items of hand dyed Cashmere Merino yarn. Soak for a short while, then wrap in a towel to absorb moisture and dry flat, no rinsing needed. X💕
Well done on passing down all the invaluable information taught by your mother. I’m always astonished how some people are lacking in practical knowledge.
Thank you for the tips. Just popped the Gleener in my John Lewis basket as my battery de bobbler is useless ! Sometimes the old fashioned ways are the best 😘😘
I was taught at school how to launder woollens. I took one of my Fathers hand knitted sweaters and when it was wet I could hardly lift it. Definitely looking out for the same de bobbler as you have. Always informative Charlie ❤
Hi Charlie, thank you for the really useful tip about rolling woollens in the towel. I’ll definitely be doing that in the future. Can I ask… do you use the Gleener on cashmere, or would you recommend a cashmere comb? I need a new debobbler, so after watching your video, I’m going to order a gleener. Thank you for all your wonderful vlogs and ‘how to’ videos, I really enjoy your content and look forward to the videos each week ❤
Thank you for telling us about the Gleaner. Like you, I have used, and been disappointed with a number of de bobble gadgets. Only towels and linens get spun on 1400. I've found that clothes tend to shrink on a spin that high.
Hi Charlie great video again. I was looking back on an old video of yours "Washing & drying your bed linen so there's no need to iron!". Can you do this with king sized duvet covers and sheets. Would you put them in one or more loads into your machine. I just wonder if it makes your washing machine jump around. Thank you very much
@@lindapeake8318 I put mine all in the washing machine together I have a large drum to my machine so it’s fine but never over load your machine make sure their is space xx
@ask.charlie it does say dry clean, I was wondering if it could be washed. I have washed other dry clean items such as cashmere or wool sweaters but never a coat.
I washed a velvet jacket that was dry clean only and it came up as good as new but I haven’t tried a wool Coat but read How to Love your laundry by Patric Richardson as I am sure he will cover that he is very knowledgeable
@@ask.charlie update: Charlie, I took a chance and washed it on a short, cold wash, it's a little pricey Michael Kors coat and I was nervous. It came out great. I'm so glad to be able to avoid all the chemicals in dry cleaning! Thanks for always encouraging us with your tips and do it yourself spirit!!

Really useful tips there Charlie especially rolling knits in a towel

Yes I think a high spin isn’t great apart from as you say towels and linens x
Great vlog. I have just ordered a gleener. Been looking for a good bobble remover. Great tips. Thank you.
@@lynnlovescakes1912 you’re welcome Lynn hope you find the gleener effective x
Just received the Gleener and used it. Wow what a difference it has made to my jumper. Brilliant.
Isn’t it effective xx
Darn I just last week bought a battery powered depiller. I did put the Gleaner on my Amazon list.
Some of them are fine but I really do like this one x

Can you wash a wool coat that has a lining? It's 60% wool and polyester.
What does the label say?
