I thank Carmelo Anthony for his monetary contributions to the insular population of Puerto Rico. He has built/rebuilt basketball courts (especially in the high crime areas) of Puerto Rico. He is politically active in places like Baltimore, Md. & Red Hook Projects in Brooklyn, NY. This young man is showing alot more social conscience than the majority of his professional athlete peers. I might venture to say that he is the most active contributor to his community. There are literally 100s of active/retired Puerto Rican baseball players. The best 3 chances he had was when AI was with him, 2013, and a lot of people forget 2006. Melo was suspended in 2006 for a ridiculous 15 games. Melo at the time was the #1 MVP contender. If he doesn't get suspended they have a chsnce to beat Miami. Denver and dallas would have decided the chip that year. And 2013 was awful for the knicks. Iman, tyson, amare, Jr, and even Novak all got injured during the playoffs. And it just so happened to be the year lebron became jesus. But he never during his fantastic 17 year career had a shot due to his team.
