Love this video! This is exactly the path that I would want to take. You do explain everything very well. I’ll be coming in May and will definitely use line one. The metro looks so confusing, but this helped. I also saw your other metro video and that helped my stress level. 😅 I was there in May 2023 and ended up walking everywhere because I didn’t want to take the metro.
Really enjoyed this tour with you! Love secret places and even hidden-away museums. I remember how uncrowded the Musee Gustave Moreau and even the Carnavalet used to be. Finding spots off the beat with you now brings me back. Never acquired the taste for escargot but always amusing to watch first-timers go at it. Thanks for a lovely time even on a gray winter day! Paris est toujours belle ! ❤ B in Chicago
I’m so glad that you found this helpful! Please note that the Olympics are affecting multiple metro lines in the city and I believe line 1 is one of them.
Excellent tour! I will be replicating this when I bring my family in October! Do you have any suggestions for a budding 12 year old artist? I would love for her to be as enamored with Paris as much as I! Happy trails my dear!😘
Such an amazing tour. You explained the metro and the small details here and there, very very helpful. Im taking notes as I will be visiting this beautiful city in the month of November ❤ You look very Pretty 😍
Glad it was helpful! Be sure to check out my metro tutorial playlist. I have a lot more videos to help you feel prepared and confident before your trip!
@@ThisFrenchLife Thank you for replying!! I have been watching your videos all day. I checked the metro video, I will definitely get the app. There are many beautiful places in France, If I'm planning to go to one city or countryside near by Paris doing a 2 days trip, will it be possible to suggest a place? I thought Normandy but then I couldn't decide one city.
@@sanikakulkarni919 it’s hard to make those suggestions for you as I don’t know what your interests and budget are. But I will say that the closer you stay to Paris, the more time you’ll have to explore and experience vs transport to and from. It also depends upon how you like to travel. For me, I don’t like to be rushed. So I’d suggest day trips from Paris that take an hour or less in travel to the destination (as you still have to get to the train station before departure, return etc) vs longer overnight stay. But that’s just me. Here’s my metro playlist, which includes a video on how to use the train system in France. Bon voyage! Loved this little tour Shannon! I was around this area many time this past year while visiting Paris but, didn't really know where I was going or what I was missing. Definitely going to give it another go around next year & pay special attention to the 'hidden area's' (they are usually my favorites). Of course, anything garden related is a plus for me, so this was a little extra special video to see the Petite Palais garden area. I'll likely spend some time there just enjoying the plants & people. See you on the next video! Thanks so much for sharing your love of France with all of us. 🤩
This is such a nice, relaxing walking tour. I enjoy your videos because it's like I'm walking next to you. What time do you leave out in the morning to get so much done in a day? This is just so gorgeous to watch.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this video and found it helpful and pretty 😊😊. Thank you. I left home around 9:30 or 10 am and was done between 3 or 4 pm. But I also took longer to film these scenes plus I also filmed the temporary art exhibit that day too.
Thank you so much! I have an entire playlist on using the Paris metro with tips, tutorials, all the info you need so you can feel confident about using the system here in Paris. I hope you find that helpful! And my sunglasses are Jimmy Fairly.
That is great news! I am so glad you found that video to be helpful. And don’t forget I have a full playlist about the Paris metro… be sure to check that out too. Have a wonderful trip!
This is the first time I’ve ever seen anybody talk about how easy it was to take the metro! Anything I’ve read on Facebook or other places when I’ve done some research people put such fear about it because of all the pickpockets. I feel better now when I come to visit:) I’m curious the area that you were in, there’s hardly any People. I expected it to be so crowded!
Question--- I tried a couple of times to buy round trip tickets on the Metro. Do the tickets expire after a certain time? Because I inserted my return ticket which I bought at the machine and it wouldn't take it when I was returning. I had to pay again, and this happened more than one time at two different stations.
Each ticket is a single use for the Paris metro city center. Once you leave the station, you discard that paper ticket and need a new one to enter. There’s no such thing as a RT single use ticket for Paris intramuros. Please see my other Paris metro tutorials. Another explanation could be that you accidentally demagnetized the ticket.
@@ThisFrenchLife Thank you so much. No wonder I was having trouble. I thought that I could just put in the return station to the destination station and purchase my return. So now I understand better. I'm used to the LIRR in New York.

Great video. Don't forget you have 90 minutes to transfer on the paper ticket. I read they're doing away with the paper tickets in 2025 😢.
Good point!

i just wonder how you carry your luggage out from the metro.
Theres no storage for luggage. You must carry it up and down the stairs in the metro, into the train, etc.
