This was actually one of my favorite DC/Marvel crossovers, except for Superman/Spiderman #1. It's more than just heroes bashing other heroes. It reads more like a regular comic storyline and Superman seems to just fit in perfectly with the FF and Galactus like a hand in a glove. He never seemed the slightest bit out of place as if he teamed up with the FF all of the time. So I loved it. Too bad DC and Marvel these days could not put aside their competition to give us fans more treats like this one.
The biggest thing I wanted to see in this crossover was just how powerful was herald Superman?
Silver Surfer was a regular dude and, throughout many authors and comics, different story tellings and examples, his strength is relatively on par with that of base hulk and base thor...just imagine what a Kryptonian, who's strength already rivals those feats as is, gets buffed up to?
On top of that, just from a few diagrams, we see that the speed Superman wields as herald lets him bounce off of planets like a frigging sling shot, so we can assume he's broken the sound barrier by leagues above with that kind of speed!!!
We know he thrashed the fantastic four...which heroes or villains would have stood a better chance against him? Was this the strongest version of Superman (in theory)? Could herald Superman have been able to destroy Galactus if he removed his personal bias, removed his safety nets and actually went in for the kill? Superman always holds himself back due to the fear of killing...but it was clear in many DC based stories (especially those involving Darkseid), that when he lets loose, he's more powerful than almost any foe in his path. Endowed with the power cosmic must make him a freaking god or something!

Hank Henshaw, if memory serves, was a DC Comics analogy for Reed Richards when he was first introduced. He was an astronaut who had lost his crew in an accident vaguely reminiscent of the FF's origin. So it's MARVELously appropriate for Henshaw to encounter Reed Richards in this story.

I think Galactus will lose to Superman. And Superman would defeat Thor. In fact I don't think Thor was really all that popular'? But maybe he was sort of before I was born in 1990... not sure.. do u think he was?

I wrote a story about that. In my story Neo is Kal-El but in the matrix. So he breaks out and becomes super and saves the world. Much more detail of course. But stilk interesting concept

I enjoy reading DC's "Elseworlds" that used to be out years ago. One of my favorites is "Gotham by Gaslight" which places Batman in the 19th century hunting down a Jack the Ripper type. The other day I was delighted to find the film version. Elseworlds reminds me of alternate history which I also like to read.

I stopped buy and reading comics when I was 16 for whatever reason. Wow. I shouldn't have stopped. So many, many, stories I missed. I now am buying them online and have more reading material than I can handle.
Help me out here guys. How does the Kryptonians having such advanced technology and superpower abilities not survive a planet's destruction? Couldn't they just migrate to another planet? And if superman's parents could send him away in a shuttle couldn't they had gotten another shuttle themselves? I mean we on earth has far more primitive technology and we could build shuttles and the international space station that can house multiple people for decades.

Bigger issue they were very advanced and they couldn't force back Galactus with brute power?
The kryptonians on their planet are just humans. They don't posses powers cause their sun is red, not yellow. On the other hand, yes the kryptonians have some of the most advanced technologies in the universe but the shuttle which allowed superman to escape was just a prototype made the last minute by Jor El. Also if the people actually believed the planet was dying in the first place, maybe they could've come up with ways to escape.

It's like a battery. He can sit by a yellow sun, have his powers, go to another sun and still have them. They will weaken, but even then he can still punch planets and do all the insane stuff he normal can.
It's based off some wavelength of the light, from what I understand, some suns give him more power than ours would, blue suns I think, and red ones kinda starve him. None of which matters if he has the power cosmic.
+RZ If anything, with the way the power cosmic usually works, it will give him mastery over energy and matter to certain degrees and that means he just creates his own simulation of solar energy, he could even make it mimic a blue sun so that his "Super" abilities are always super charged on top of his Power Cosmic abilities.

What big name critics does RT purposely exclude? Also, which general audience critics are they paying or selecting, to ensure Marvel flicks receive ratings of 90% or higher while DC dwells in the 30's? I hear theories all the time, but, not one shred of coherent evidence to back the DC extremists. Here's a thought, trash the studios, who have yet to cast a definitive character, that can carry a solo flick and blend in with other heroes. Marvel was very methodical and spent more time developing characters, and thus far they've nailed every member of the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. DC has relied mainly on eye candy and big name attractive actors, to sell movies, like Will Smith(he's a great actor, but they didn't write a script for Deadshot, they wrote it for Smith, that wasn't his fault) Also Henry C's Superman belongs at a bachelorette party, because he has no depth. Jeremy Irons Alfred was the only human being that felt alive. Don't get me started on Eisenberg, or Martha, and Doomsday. WB deserves the blame not critics, or Marvel. Because thus far their universe is like Krypton, it may have been great once, but it's recently been obliterated.
Here's the deal, I don't have a problem with people who dislike Marvel or their movie formula nor do I have a problem with a person who torches my opinions. Because I have no qualms about doing the same. My larger issue has to do with studio accountability, and how some DC fans are doing more damage to the brand by blaming critics and Marvel fans as opposed to demanding the studios answer, as to why they jammed two of the most significant moments in comic book history into a 15 minute segment at the end of a movie, that was supposed to help launch their universe. And for the record, Christopher Reeve in Superman 1 and 2 along with, Tim Burton's Batman, and the Chris Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, are among my favorite comic flicks of all time. My point, is based on, DC releasing what feels like unfinished products, to keep up with Marvel, instead of putting in due diligence. Yes it's my opinion but, assuming bias simply because I dislike their product is flawed.

yep warner owns RT which only further proves that reviews and ratings are honest, as a huge DC fan and only a minor marvel fan ive been really disappointed in DC films for a long time, watchmen was their last GREAT movie, nolans batman films where ok but for me so far removed from the actual batman from the comics its hard to consider a superhero movie, but marvel gets what it deserves, and warner are doing the right thing in not playing with the numbers.

can you tell us why the military chose wolverine instead of sabretooth for the adamantium project? It doesn't make sense what they said in the movies about sabretooth not being able to handle the amount of pain that wolverine can, since they both have the same powers and skill set. The only reason that wolverine ever wins against sabretooth is because of the adamantium. PLEASE EXPLAIN!

That reasoning doesn't hold in the comics as Sabretooth has had adamantium aswell there. Not much makes sense in the movies though. Didn't they say adamantium came from space in Origins? Lol.
It can be summed up like this; Never take anything from the movies as fact and/or canon. The Movies are dumbed down for casual audiences.
Sabretooth was never part of the original Weapon X story, that's why.
+STEVE VD The movies also invented a drug that cured Beast of his mutation, repaired Xaviers spine and also turned DeadPool into a mute with Baraka style blades in his arms and shot lasers out of his eyes ... I wouldn't take anything from the movie's and apply it to the characters established comic book history.
