Cheesy Garlic Christmas Tree Twist | Puff pastry hack!

Ingredients:
2 sheets of thawed puff pastry dough
1/4 cup butter
2 cloves minced garlic
2 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
egg wash:
1 egg + splash of water beaten together
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400F
In a small bowl mix softened butter, garlic, salt and parsley. Lay one sheet of puff pastry dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Spread the butter mixture over the dough evenly. Sprinkle with cheese. Lay the second sheet over the top, matching up the edges. (sub in a different filling if you prefer)
On one short side of the dough mark a notch in the center with a sharp knife. Connect that center mark to the corners of the opposite short side, cutting a triangle/Christmas tree shape. With the "discard" pieces cut a couple of shapes to decorate the tree with and set them aside removing the excess dough.
Cut 1/2" strips up each side of the Christmas tree leaving a 1" margin in the center of the tree uncut so that the strips never connect in the center. Twist each strip. Brush the tree with an egg wash and place one star on top and the other in the center. Egg wash those pieces then bake for 20-25 min or until golden brown.
