What about playing this or another Cold Steel-game with automatic damage only? You aren't allowed to use any attacks, arts or crafts that explicitly deal damage or applies a damaging or K.O.-ing status effect. All damage must come from reflects, counters, quarts with passive effects, etc.. But you are allowed to apply buffs or debuffs that would indirectly lead to or increase automatic damage, such as buffing Fie with insight. I was originally going to say counter damage only, but maybe that's a bit extreme... Great video, by the way! I'd never guess that this video came from a
NEARLY impossible even at lv 200 on Easy mode Elliot's ATTACK damage s craft is pure crap it will NEVER reach 500,000+ damage which is a MUST in order to kill the last bosses in 1 to 2 uses of each one does AT least that much.
You just got to love her for her character. On one side the perfect, strong knight in shining armor girl and than again she emits those vibes of cluelessness, which sometimes make her look a bit clumsy, especially when it comes to nearly anything except swordsmanship. I also like to knock out all the enemies with her sword on the map... and afterwards knock them down in battle.
Personally I would say Fie is more my type, but this strong ladyknight made me fall for her completely. I have her in my party whenever possible and despite my preference for girls that have a more petite physique, I couldn't choose anyone else in CS1+2 after she destroyed everything in my way. Maybe it wasn't love at first sight, but Laura is definitely a keeper.
I have both of them in my party. Fie is an evasion tank (w/crit counter) + speed buffer, Laura is pure STR with no arts except for Purgatorial Flame and Artemis Tears and I save her S-Craft at 200 CP in boss fights and apply La Forte twice with Rean, and Elliot is my barrier mage + healer. I also have Emma in reserve to switch out for Zero Arts turns and cast Sol Eruption.
This was a great video and I truly appreciate the amount of work that went into editing this. I'm also a little biased towards this video because Laura is best...its obvious. Keep up the great work, I've been enjoying the videos thusfar. I've shared the 1000 Hours of Trails video with some of my friends hoping it would help explain why us Trails-Fans are obsessed with this series.

Well... I just see one only way to make this run possible: make it as NG+ with all characters available from beginning to end. Because, yes, Laura is available at intro, but not in whole 1st chapter.

And then it gets even more busted in CS3 and 4 by letting HERSELF GET THE BUFFS TOO, which it didn't previously. It only affects everyone else in 1 and 2.
It has been a while ever since I saw a great video like this. You really are missing out not using Laura's field attack, her field attack is the best. ANY enemy gets hit with her big bang sword will most likely get stun (minus strong enemies). Plus Fie is such a great arts supporter too, she legitimately the fastest character in base stats therefore she can cast faster arts support. Also, Moebius is a great support MQ. Make it Level 5 and you can easily get Alisa to go full support. Slap her with full Action quartz (1,2,3) then some support arts and you can spam her item buffs easily. Say goodbye to arts support lmao.

While I don't know of any character-unlocking mods, I know that at least CS3/4 have Cheat Engine tables that enable characters for use outside of their normally specified times. The same thing might be available for CS1/2 as well, for any future shenanigans.
this was interesting. I didn't use Laura hardly ever in the entire cold steel series because she has bad speed which is crippling as speed is the best stat.

Do you think you'll do a Laura only run of Cold Steel II? It's much easier to do a (mostly) Laura only run since you can keep her with you at all times except for the Interlude and the divertsissement. Even during Mech battles, you can set Laura as the support driver.

I love how you used Trails in the Sky-, Final Fantasy- and Legend of Zelda-music. Wow, only using Laura comes in handy when buying weapons I guess, since you only have to buy one and are saving money. Hey, nice to see both of our parties at the final boss were the same! I just love Elliot and Alisa as support-cast. Also, I'm shocked and impressed at the same time that you did your whole first run without cooking. I mean, I started Trails in the Sky 1 not knowing how to cook and played halfway through the game before figuring it out, but this is something else. I salute and respect you!

I wish I knew that about Adamantine Shield 🛡 stopping the suck move my first playthrough. I ultimately dealt with it by just learning to abuse Impeed and stop him from ever getting a turn

As a fellow Laura ~~simp~~ enjoyer and annoying bow girl hater, I feel obligated to comment and thank you for this video. You are doing Aidios' work in spreading the holy word of Laura S. Arseid. But seriously, Laura stole my heart on the first game, and then gripped it tighter in the second one with that fabulous new dress she was rocking. Wich is why I was EXTREMELY disapointed with how irrelevant she was in the story of CS3 and CS4 (in fact, I'd argue that she was so irrelevant you could write her out of the story and nothing of importance would have been lost). And sadly, in the gameplay department, she fell off too, not because she got nerfed, but because of all the absolutely broken shit that got added to the player's arsenal in the last 2 games. We got Rean becoming even more broken than in CS2, Crow being added who is essentially a second Rean, Fie and Sara, who perfected the art of dodge-tanking, Musse with her brave order enabling infinite chrono burst spam; Gaius who can spam his S-craft ad-infinitum to keep bosses from ever getting a turn... need I go on? Anyway, yeah, they did her really dirty. But hey, if you're into the female knight archetype, I heard that Elaine from Kuro no Kiseki is pretty great (no spoilers pls) so we can look forward to her :)
In Sen 2 you can use domination with Taurus master quartz which basically make Laura opening s craft gaurenteed one hit KO, even on some bosses. Being slow as a snail is also no problem as you could link it to a Fie with maxed speed/eva build for follow up hits. Can only be described as degeneratd
Don't you mean "Most of the bosses" as in "Almost all of them"? At least after getting the Domination Quartz there aren't many that can still stand after her attack. Leo needed a single hit from another character to fall and McBurn is just a sponge who had like half of his HP left. Other that that only the final boss can survive her first S-Craft. Everything else is onehit, even the upgraded Cryptids!
