So a few things:
The newer AI voices come from a website called Fliki. I had to sub for a month, but it does give a lot more voices, and as you heard, some are a bit more realistic than others. It seems CS has a lot more characters than the previous two arcs. So I couldn't do the usual where I cycle the same five voices between all characters. Hopefully this'll help, and y'all seem to like them.
The review is in progress. I'm actually working on three at the moment. The first two will probably be done before Cold Steel 1, but it's coming soon.

New voices are indeed great, it's a money well spent. Most notably Machias, Jusis and ESPECIALLY Patrick. It's sad that you haven't included the scene from the start of Ch4 field trip, or his festival scene with Elise.

This was amazing. Please do CS2. Given how unhinged this series is I am looking forward to the escape with Alfin sequence in the mid game. The dialogue of the original was already amazing to begin with.

No, at least not to my knowledge. It comes from a third party. I did intentionally try and give them voices similar to their dubbed voices, but it's not them AFAIK

I don't know what's better. The fact that Rean's Text-to-Speach sounds exactly like is English VA, or that Scarlet is a valley girl.
I did try and pick voices that at least somewhat sounded like them

and my abbreviation of Cold Steel 2 is literally "Heed my call, Valimar the Ashen Knight" so say the line Rean was never more accurate
You know what the worst part about you releasing this video is? Now I'm stuck having to wait for Cold Steel 2 in a nutshell!!!! Nooo!!!!!
In all seriousness, after finding your channel, I actually went back and started replaying the cold steel series all over again, and found myself falling in love with it all over. Thank you for reigniting the passion, and for the genuinely funny video!

Edit: Oh yeah I’ll mention this now when you finish Trails of Cold Steel 2 make sure to look up Cold Steel 2 secret cutscene. It is cannon and in order to unlock it you would need to play through the game twice so yeah NG+ is cannon. I’m pretty sure there were people who played CS3 and when the game referenced this plot point they got really confused. So yeah keep this in mind.
Everytime the script mentions crossbell timeline and how they should not know it lol.

Great job! It's nice you gave some attention to Beryl. I can imagine in 20 years time when the last Trails game comes out, its post-credit scene will zoom out to reveal the entire series was a vision in her crystal ball. Then she looks into the camera and winks.

So I've decided to do two more fun facts. One for the Nutshell Video, and one for the actual Review.
After that, I don't think I'll do many more as I'm already running out and we haven't even gottem to CSII yet.

Anyway- this is probabaly my favorite bit of Trails trivia that may not be true. But I like to believe that it's true because of how cool it could have been.
I mentioned in one of my first Fun Fact Comments that Alisa and Rean may have occupied each other's roles at early drafts of the story. But another belief is something different.
Alisa was supposed to be the MC (Either a harem of guys or a lesbian harem, you choose).
But the interesting part is Rean. Who, according to some sources, was supposed to occupy *CROW'S* role in the story. Meaning he would have been the person who led the terrorists, shot Osborne, and became the arcs traitor.
He even has vaguely blue hair! You can tell it was planned!
I heard the same thing, and since Rean and Alissa were supposed to have a "will they / won't they" relationship as antagonist and protagonist respectively, this also explains the "tension" between Crow and Rean in the canon story.
@@sjstronghold9238 Is it weird that I kinda would have preferred that? Like, it would have been a lot better than the harem shit that we got.
Though to be fair I'll take a canon romance like Joshua and Estelle over a harem like in Cold Steel.
@@panpan1287 Harem mechanics largely brought down both Crossbell and Erebonia arcs to me so almost anything would have been better including an actual romance between Rean and Crow, but making Rean still the popular kid but not the protagonist would have avoided pitfalls (Joshua is basically a harem protag but it still worked)

Although, seriously, it would be nice to have more characters like Estelle or Kevin, who are their own person with their own canon relationships instead of leaving it to the whims of the player, making nothing official. I mean, Alisa is obviously the canon option for Rean, we are shown that for the whole 4 games when she gets the most affection, the most romantic events and the only romantic event in CS3.

Its just very big so a lot of the horseback riding feels tedious as nothing is reañly happening 90% of the time

Man... it just seems that each one of these you do they somehow get better and better! Can't wait for CS2 shenanigans, a lot of people dislike that one the most out of the four, so I'll be very curious to see your various takes on things. I personally liked it a lot more than CS1. Hope you keep enjoying YS as well 😉

@@weaponsci that's very true, it's kinda like Sky the 3rd in terms of how divisive it is among the fandom. I thought it really stepped things up in terms of story and intrigue that CS1 built up and some pretty crazy things happen that I will not spoil. But I do get the criticisms. I just didn't find them as egregiously bad as others.
I liked Cold Steel 2, it wasn't my favorite but I enjoyed it. The Ironblood reveal at the end was really great, in my opinion. Cold Steel 1 and Trails in the Sky FC are my favorites.

Never understood why people like this game better than 2. Cause 2 to me is superior in every aspect. They say the pacing is off at times but so was the first game. The only issue I have with 2 is around the middle it has some pacing issues but other than that I liked it better than the first one.

Also curious if some of the character voices in this video (notably Laura and Millium but to a lesser extent Victor) will stay the same when it's CS3 time or as part of the joke, they get different AI voices to coincide with getting different dub VAs.

Total missed opportunity with Toval. He's actually in Sky First Chapter: Toval is one of the main characters in the collectable book Carnelia from that game that you can exchange for Estelle or Joshua's Zumerian Ore weapon at the end of the game in Grancel. If you read the collectable novel, he goes by Toby in that book and all the bad stuff in the story happens to him.
