To get the most out of advanced control Text Boxes, you're really going to want to learn some basic things in the scripting environment as well as accepting inputs. I've been experimenting with some cool stuff around not just conditional formatting, but also having different messages appear based on inputs you feed it, including those from other control selections.
Though you can certainly use them for worksheet users to put in information too, but normal textboxes or defining strings already can do that. Though scripts now let you process what goes in/out of the controlled textbox, like enforcing character limits or appending something.

I learned inputs, outputs, and basic scripting for buttons, but I don’t yet have a use case for text boxes for my stuff. I’m sure something will come up eventually. My next step is learning how to use inputs and outputs to make a second control change based on the first control (e.g., the classic select a material then select a grade use case).
